Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the approximate analytical bound states with a linear combination of two diatomic molecule potentials, Yukawa and four parameters potentials, within the framework of the path integral formalism. With the help of an appropriate approximation to evaluate the centrifugal term, the energy spectrum and the normalized wave functions of the bound states are derived from the poles of Green's function and its residues. The partition function and other thermodynamic properties were obtained using the compact form of the energy equation.

Path integral solution of the Schrödinger equation with a linear combination of deformed Hulthén plus generalized Kratzer potentials: application to diatomic molecules

M. A. Sadoun, Fouzi Haddad, Hamza Adnane +1 more

Abstract In this study, we investigated the approximate analytical bound state solutions of the Schrödinger equation, considering a linear combination of the deformed (Hulthén 1942 Ark. Mat. Astron. Fys. 28A 671) potential and the generalized (Kratzer 1920 Z. Phys. 3 289–307) potential. The analysis was performed within the path-integral formalism. Using an appropriate approximation to evaluate the centrifugal term, we derived the energy spectrum and normalized wave functions of the bound states from the poles of the Green’s function and its residues. To evaluate the accuracy and applicability of the derived expressions, we discuss several limiting cases of the potential and carry out numerical calculations of the energy levels, complemented by illustrative plots for selected diatomic molecules.

Approximate solutions and determination of the thermodynamic properties of the generalized Yukawa potential using extended Nikiforov–Uvarov method

Haifa I. Alrebdi, A. N. Ikot, I. B. Okon +2 more

In this study, the approximate analytical bound state solutions with a newly proposed generalized Yukawa potential are solved using the extended Nikiforov–Uvarov method with the help of Greene–Aldrich approximation to the centrifugal term. The corresponding wave function is expressed in terms of the confluent Heun function. The numerical bound state solutions are reported for various values of the screening parameter and orbital angular quantum number. Furthermore, the bound state energy spectrum is used to study the thermodynamic properties of the system comprehensively, and we have discussed the influence of inverse temperature and maximum quantum number on the thermodynamic properties.

Non-relativistic bound state solutions of a linear combination of deformed Hulthén plus generalized Kratzer potentials using Feynman path integral approach

M. A. Sadoun, Fouzi Haddad

Abstract The approximate bound state solutions of Schrödinger equation with linear combination of a q-deformed Hulthén potential plus screened Kratzer potential were obtained with the help of appropriate approximation to evaluate the centrifugal term. The Feynman path integral approach was used to obtain the analytical solutions. The energy spectrum and the normalized wave functions of the bound states are derived from the poles of the Green’s function and its residues. Particular cases of these potentials are also discussed briefly and it is found that obtained results are in good agreement with those obtained in the literature.

Approximate Bound State Solutions for Certain Molecular Potentials

Mahmoud Farout, Mohammed Yasin, Sameer M. Ikhdair

We present solutions of the Schrodinger equation with superposition of Manning-Rosen plus inversely Mobius square plus quadratic Yukawa potentials using parametric Nikiforov Uvarov method along with an approximation to the centrifugal term. The bound state energy eigenvalues for any angular momentum quantum number l and the corresponding un-normalized wave functions are calculated. The mixed potential which in some particular cases gives the solutions for different potentials: the Manning-Rosen, the Mobius square, the inversely quadratic Yukawa and the Hulthén potentials along with their bound state energies are obtained.

Eigensolutions and Thermodynamic Properties of Kratzer Plus Generalized Morse Potential

Cecilia N. Isonguyo, I. B. Okon, Akaninyene Daniel Antia +7 more

In this study, we apply the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov method to obtain the bound state solution of Schrödinger wave equation in the presence of Kratzer plus generalized Morse potential (KPGM). The energy eigen equation and the corresponding normalised wave function were obtained in closed form. The resulting energy eigen equation was used to study partition function and other thermodynamic properties such as vibrational mean energy, vibrational specific heat capacity, vibrational mean free energy and vibrational entropy for the proposed potential as applied to lithium hydride diatomic molecule. The thermodynamic plots obtained were in excellent agreement to work of existing literatures. The wave function and probability density plots for the diatomic molecules were obtained through a well designed and implemented maple programme.
