Abstract

In the weakly non-ideal gas model [1], the Bose-Einstein condensation at constant pressure is considered. The temperature of transition to the state with condensate is found. Temperature dependences of the total density and condensate density, the energy, entropy and heat capacities are calculated.

On phase transitions in Bose gases at constant density and constant pressure

Velin G. Ivanov

The phase transitions in Bose gases at constant volume and constant pressure are considered. New results for the chemical potential, the effective Landau‐Ginzburg free energy and the equation of state of the Bose‐Einstein condensate in ideal Bose gases with a general form of the energy spectrum are presented. Unresolved problems are discussed.

On Some Points of the Bose-Einstein Condensation

L. Goldstein

The peculiar condensation in phase space of ideal Bose-Einstein gases is discussed when the internal energy states of the atoms or molecules is taken into account and when the gas of atoms without internal structure is placed in an external conservative field of force. The inclusion of the internal energy states decreases while the application of the external field increases the condensation temperature from its value in absence of either of these causes. The transition phenomenon, apart from the preceding change in the condensation temperature, proceeds in the same way as in the case of the free gas atoms without internal structure; in particular, the order of the transition remains invariable, as the continuity of the heat capacity at constant volume is maintained at the transition point.

Bose-Einstein condensation in an external potential

Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato, David E. Pritchard, Daniel Kleppner

We present theoretical results for the critical temperature for Bose-Einstein condensation, condensate fraction, and heat capacity of a gas of Bose particles that are confined by a generic power-law potential trap. All three of these quantities are found to vary markedly with the shape of the potential. Both the ideal and the weakly interacting Bose gas are considered.

On the Bose - Einstein condensation and phase transition of ann-dimensional ideal Bose gas

Sun Chang-yong, Wang Jisuo

The general expressions of energy, heat capacity and Bose - Einstein condensation (BEC) temperature are given for an n-dimensional ideal Bose gas with a dispersion relation of , with which the possibility of occurrence of BEC can be determined. The curve of against temperature of the gas with is continuous at , while that of the gas with has a finite jump . These are two different kinds of phase transitions.

The Condensation of the Relativistic Bose Gas in the Gravitational Field

Lin Zhen-Quan

For the relativistic Bose gas in the gravitational field, the Bose-Einstein condensation(BEC) and the thermodynamic properties are investigated using the local density approximation(LDA).The thermodynamic quantities are calculated in the non-relativistic(NR) and ultra-relativistic(UR) limits, including the transition temperature, the ground state fraction, the energy and the heat capacity of the system. We also discussed the continuity of the heat capacity at the critical temperature. It is found that the effect of the relativistic results in the increase of the gap of the heat capacity.
