Abstract

Quantum state transfer between cavities is crucial for quantum information processing and quantum computation in optomechanical systems. Here, we present the first scheme for the transitionless intra-cavity quantum state transfer based on transitionless quantum driving (TQD) algorithm in optomechanical systems. We also present a physically feasible system for the TQD process based on largely detuned optomechanical cavity. With the Gaussian time-dependence coupling strengths, our scheme can achieve the perfect quantum state transfer with no undesired transition and reduce the dependence of accurately controlling evolution time and interval of coupling strengths. Our computational results show that the TQD process can be accomplished with no need of the mechanical oscillator in its ground state and is also robust to the mechanical dissipation.

Reversible quantum state transfer in a three-mode optomechanical system

Chun‐Ling Zhang, Xiang Chen, Chang-Geng Liao +1 more

Abstract Quantum state transfer between two nodes is a basic task of long-distance quantum communication. In this paper, we propose a general protocol to transfer quantum state between optical and microwave modes in a three-mode optomechanical system based on transitionless quantum driving. By choosing a well-designed path, the reversible transfer between optical and microwave modes can be achieved in the shorter time than adiabatic passage method. We further apply this idea for implementing the quantum state transfer between optical or microwave and mechanical modes. Numerical simulation results show that the protocol is robust against the cavity decay and mechanical damping. Therefore, this work provides a new method for quantum state transfer between two optical modes with distinct wavelengths in the optomechanical system, which may have great application prospect in quantum communication.

Quantum State Transfer between Distant Cavity-Optomechanics Connected via Fiber

Jia-Feng Dai, Yan-Qing, Guo, Xing-Yuan, Zhang +2 more

We propose a scheme for high quantum state transfer efficiency between two distant mechanical oscillators. Through coupling separately to two optical cavities connected by an optical fiber, two distant mechanical oscillators achieve a transfer efficiency closing to unity. In the process of analysis, we employed time-varying optomechanical coupling strength as a Gaussian pulse.

Strongly driven cavity quantum electrodynamical-optomechanical hybrid system

Xuxin Wang, Jiahe Pan, Tobias J. Kippenberg +1 more

Hybrid quantum systems harness the distinct advantages of different physical platforms, yet their integration is not always trivial due to potential incompatibilities in operational principles. Here, we theoretically propose and demonstrate a scheme for generating non-Gaussian mechanical states using a strongly driven hybrid system that combines cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) and cavity optomechanics. Our protocol prepares a non-Gaussian cavity state in the dispersive regime of cavity QED and subsequently transfers it to a mechanical oscillator using the optomechanical interaction enhanced by a coherent cavity drive. While non-Gaussian cavity state control in cavity QED is well established in the dispersive regime, its behavior under strong cavity drive, essential for cavity optomechanics, remains largely unexplored. To bridge this gap, we develop an efficient simulation framework to model cavity QED dynamics in the high-photon-number regime. We show that a strong cavity drive can coherently displace the cavity state with minimal perturbations, effectively decoupling it from the qubit. The resulting large coherent cavity field enhances the optomechanical coupling strength, enabling high-fidelity transfer of non-Gaussian cavity states to the mechanical mode. These results reveal new dynamical features of driven cavity QED and open a pathway toward realizing non-Gaussian mechanical quantum memories and sensors.

Optimal Control for Robust Photon State Transfer in Optomechanical Systems

Yan Wang, Jin‐Lei Wu, Yu‐Kun Feng +4 more

Abstract Cavity optomechanical systems converting quantum state between photons facilitate the development of scalable quantum information processors. The control of state transfer in such systems require producing fast and robust transfer to the target state with high fidelity. Shortcuts to adiabaticity (STA) has recently been proved a powerful method for performing fast quantum state conversion in optomechanical systems, which is, however, not robust enough against deviations in control parameters. Here a scheme to realize robust photon state transfer in a universal cavity optomechanical system by combining STA with optimal control technique (OCT) is proposed. Minimizing systematic error sensitivities with adjustable optimization parameters allows to control simultaneously the transfer speed, fidelity, and robustness against errors. Numerical results show that the optimized scheme is insensitive to deviations in optomechanical coupling and frequency detuning over a broad range. The effects of dissipation on the transfer fidelity are also examined for practical implementation of the scheme in realistic scenarios.

Speeding up adiabatic state conversion in optomechanical systems

Feng‐Yang Zhang, Wenlin Li, Wei‐Bin Yan +1 more

Abstract Adiabatic state conversion in optomechanical systems requires the evolution process to be very slow, which limits its application in quantum information processing. In this paper, we explicitly show that speeding up adiabatic state conversion in optomechanical systems can be implemented. For the case that each cavity is driven far from the red-detuned mechanical sideband, the high-efficiency population transfer between cavity modes is achieved via an additional Hamiltonian  a ( t ) , whereas the population of the mechanical resonator can be effectively inhibited. In the meanwhile, in the case of each cavity driven near the red-detuned mechanical sideband, the population transfers can be realized by varying the modified optomechanical couplings without an additional Hamiltonian. Numerical simulation demonstrates that the transfer is robust to the system decays.

Fast excitation fluctuation transfer between two membranes based on transitionless quantum driving

Wen-Wu Liu, Chun‐Ling Zhang

Abstract In this paper, we introduce a feasible scheme for implementing excitation fluctuation transfer between two membranes in a cavity optomechanical system. The transitionless tracking algorithm allows the system to evolve along a single path, and the process is sped up. Numerical simulations are shown to indicate that, compared with the schemes based on conventional adiabatic passage and Lewis–Riesenfeld invariants, the proposed scheme not only shortens the evolution time but also significantly decreases the negative effects of dissipation arising from membrane damping and cavity decay within specified bounds. This work provides a new idea for quantum state transfer between two membranes.
