Abstract

Abstract In this paper, we introduce a feasible scheme for implementing excitation fluctuation transfer between two membranes in a cavity optomechanical system. The transitionless tracking algorithm allows the system to evolve along a single path, and the process is sped up. Numerical simulations are shown to indicate that, compared with the schemes based on conventional adiabatic passage and Lewis–Riesenfeld invariants, the proposed scheme not only shortens the evolution time but also significantly decreases the negative effects of dissipation arising from membrane damping and cavity decay within specified bounds. This work provides a new idea for quantum state transfer between two membranes.

Entangling two membranes by the designed-evolution-operator method

Shunyi Zhang, Shuang He, Wenchao Wang +6 more

We propose a robust and accelerated scheme for generating quantum entanglement between two macroscopic membranes in a cavity optomechanical system. By utilizing the quantum Zeno dynamics, the full coupled dynamics is constrained within an invariant subspace, leading to a controllable three-level effective Hamiltonian. We employ the designed-evolution-operator method to steer the system along a prescribed shortcut trajectory, where the required driving pulses are fitted with superpositions of Gaussian functions to enhance experimental feasibility. The unconditional open-system dynamics is rigorously evaluated using a trace-preserving Lindblad master equation accounting for photon leakage, mechanical damping, and finite-temperature thermal noise. Numerical simulations show that high-fidelity entangled states can be generated within a significantly shortened evolution time compared with conventional adiabatic passage. Furthermore, the scheme exhibits remarkable robustness against cavity decay, membrane damping, and noise.

Reversible quantum state transfer in a three-mode optomechanical system

Chun‐Ling Zhang, Xiang Chen, Chang-Geng Liao +1 more

Abstract Quantum state transfer between two nodes is a basic task of long-distance quantum communication. In this paper, we propose a general protocol to transfer quantum state between optical and microwave modes in a three-mode optomechanical system based on transitionless quantum driving. By choosing a well-designed path, the reversible transfer between optical and microwave modes can be achieved in the shorter time than adiabatic passage method. We further apply this idea for implementing the quantum state transfer between optical or microwave and mechanical modes. Numerical simulation results show that the protocol is robust against the cavity decay and mechanical damping. Therefore, this work provides a new method for quantum state transfer between two optical modes with distinct wavelengths in the optomechanical system, which may have great application prospect in quantum communication.

Invariant-based inverse engineering for fluctuation transfer between membranes in an optomechanical cavity system

Ye‐Hong Chen, Zhi‐Cheng Shi, Jie Song +1 more

In this paper, by invariant-based inverse engineering, we design classical driving fields to transfer quantum fluctuations between two suspended membranes in an optomechanical cavity system. The transfer can be quickly attained through a nonadiabatic evolution path determined by a so-called dynamical invariant. Such an evolution path allows one to optimize the occupancies of the unstable ``intermediate'' states; thus, the influence of cavity decays can be suppressed. Numerical simulation demonstrates that a perfect fluctuation transfer between two membranes can be rapidly achieved in one step, and the transfer is robust to both the amplitude noises and cavity decays.

Transitionless intra-cavity quantum state transfer in optomechanical systems

Hao Zhang, Xue‐Ke Song, Qing Ai +2 more

Quantum state transfer between cavities is crucial for quantum information processing and quantum computation in optomechanical systems. Here, we present the first scheme for the transitionless intra-cavity quantum state transfer based on transitionless quantum driving (TQD) algorithm in optomechanical systems. We also present a physically feasible system for the TQD process based on largely detuned optomechanical cavity. With the Gaussian time-dependence coupling strengths, our scheme can achieve the perfect quantum state transfer with no undesired transition and reduce the dependence of accurately controlling evolution time and interval of coupling strengths. Our computational results show that the TQD process can be accomplished with no need of the mechanical oscillator in its ground state and is also robust to the mechanical dissipation.

Speeding up adiabatic method has attracted much attention with the wide applications in quantum information processing. In this paper, two kinds of methods, Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant-based inverse engineering and transitionless quantum driving are applied to implement speeding up adiabatic state conversion in optomechanical system. The perfect population transfer can be achieved within a short time. At last, the energetic cost is analysed for the transitionless quantum driving.

Fast implementation of four-dimensional entangled state in separately coupled cavities via shortcut to adiabatic passage

Chun‐Ling Zhang, Liu Wen-wu

Quantum information, as a comprehensive subject of quantum mechanics and information science, has a broad theoretical research value and application prospect. As a resource of quantum information, quantum entanglement has been studied thoroughly, which is not only significant to understand the features of quantum mechanics, but also of great value to the development of the method new quantum information processing. Therefore, the generation of entangled state is widely studied theoretically. In comparison to low-dimensional entangled states, multi-dimensional entangled states are not only safe but also efficient and error-tolerant for quantum computation. The adiabatic technique is one of the most widely used and proven techniques in quantum information science. The main advantages of this technique are that it is insensitive to the fluctuation of experimental parameters, and the interaction time of the system is not required to be controled accurately. However, limited by the adiabatic condition, it usually takes relatively long interaction time in scheme via adiabatic technique to achieve the target states. If the required evolution time is too long, the scheme may be useless. To overcome this problem, researchers have done a lot in the field of finding ways to shorten the long interaction time of adiabatic passage. Among these works, the technique named shortcuts to adiabatic passage is a successful work in this field and it has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years. In this paper, based on transitionless quantum driving to construct shortcuts to adiabatic passage, an efficient scheme to fast generate a four-dimensional entangled state of two-atom is proposed. The atoms are respectively trapped in the separate two-mode cavities which are connected by optical fiber. To achieve an alternative physically feasible system, the non-resonant dynamics is adopted to create a Hamiltonian which can exactly drive the system to evolve along the instantaneous eigenstates of the original Hamiltonian. As a result, if the system goes through adiabatic passage, it will evolve in the dark state, not transit to other states. Hence, using transitionless quantum driving to shortcuts to adiabatic passage, the evolutionary time in this scheme is much less than that in other schemes based on traditional adiabatic passage. The rigorous numerical simulations are conducted. The results show that with suitable pulsed laser parameters, this scheme is robust against decoherence arising from fiber decay, cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. Moreover, the scheme is more feasible in physics. That is, based on the proposed scheme, a high-fidelity four-dimensional entangled state of two-atom can be achieved.
