Comment on decoherence by time dilation

Abstract

Remarks regarding a novel decoherence mechanism [arXiv:1311.1095]. According to this model by itself, "real" (that is, irreversible) decoherence would require some initially present entanglement with the environment.

Disentanglement and decoherence without dissipation at non-zero temperatures

G. W. Ford, Robert F. O’Connell

Decoherence is well understood, in contrast to disentanglement. According to common lore, irreversible coupling to a dissipative environment is the mechanism for loss of entanglement. Here, we show that, on the contrary, disentanglement can in fact occur at large enough temperatures $T$ even for vanishingly small dissipation (as we have shown previously for decoherence). However, whereas the effect of $T$ on decoherence increases exponentially with time, the effect of $T$ on disentanglement is constant for all times, reflecting a fundamental difference between the two phenomena. Also, the possibility of disentanglement at a particular $T$ increases with decreasing initial entanglement.

No-go for fully unitary quantum mechanics from Bell's Theorem; comment on "Physics and Metaphysics of Wigner's Friends: Even performed pre-measurements have no results''

Konrad Schlichtholz

The purpose of this comment is to show that a reinterpretation of the results from the Letter: "Physics and Metaphysics of Wigner's Friends: Even performed pre-measurements have no results" allows for reaching the conclusion "pre-measurements have no resul" [arXiv:2003.07464] based only on postulates of quantum mechanics without additional assumptions on irreversibility. Additionally, with supplementary reasoning based on Bell's theorem, one can show that unitary decoherence cannot be solely responsible for the quantum-to-classical transition, and an additional irreversibility model is required for its full description. Consequently, the black hole information paradox has no physical basis.

The Unforgettable Tick: Time Dilation as a Record Protected by Energy Positivity

Mustafa Boudjerada

This note studies how gravitational time dilation can create and protect physical records in a closed timeless quantum universe. Building on the Page–Wootters and Feynman–Kitaev framework, the work introduces an energy-dependent witness clock whose ticking rate changes with the system energy, providing a discrete model of time dilation. The study verifies four exact mechanisms: 1. Time writes energy: different energy histories generate exactly distinguishable witness-clock distributions at every sampled time, producing records without any measurement interaction. 2. Positivity protects the record: under all tested positive energy-conditioned deformations, the dilation record cannot be erased. The only exact eraser requires anti-dilation, corresponding to a negative-energy deformation outside the positive class. 3. Discrete time-dilation decoherence: energy superpositions lose coherence according to an exact lattice analogue of gravitational time-dilation decoherence, with exact revival at the witness period. 4. Universality redundancy: multiple witness clocks independently acquire the same energy record, showing how time dilation can naturally proliferate information without an explicit copying interaction. The result provides an exactly solvable information-theoretic mechanism connecting energy positivity, gravitational time dilation, and record stability. It is a discrete model of the underlying structure rather than a calculation of full dynamical gravity. Reproducibility scripts and audit variants are included.
