Abstract

The problem of a spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ particle moving in a linear potential field in two-dimensions is searched to obtain for nonzero energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized eigenfunctions. The zero-mode ($E=0$) eigenfunctions are also studied and it is seen that they are normalizable. The variation of the non-zero eigenfunctions and also eigenvalues are according to the position and potential parameter $γ$, respectively, given in the text.

A fermion in a scalar inversely linear potential

Antonio S. de Castro

The problem of a fermion subject to a a scalar inversely linear potential in a two‐dimensional world is mapped into a Sturm‐Liouville problem for nonzero eigenenergies. This mapping gives rise to an effective Kratzer potential and exact bounded solutions are found in closed form. The normalizable zero‐eigenmode solution is also found. A few unusual results are revealed.

One-Dimensional Many-Fermion System. I: Exact Solution in a Field Theoretical Framework

T. Kebukawa

The eigenvalue problem in a one-dimensional system of many fermions interacting via a delta-function potential is solved exactly in a field theoretical framework. Simultaneous eigenstates of spin and energy are represented in a systematic and compact form, that is, in such a form that the orbital and spin eigenfunctions are unified in harmony without the aid of Young’s tableau. The eigenstate and energy eigenvalue are specified by two sets of quantum numbers, particle momenta and spin momenta, besides two eigenvalues of a total spin angular momentum and its z-component. It is shown that for given particle momenta and spin momenta the energy eigenvalue is given by the solutions of coupled equations.

In the present article we have found the complete energy spectrum and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the Dirac oscillator in two spatial dimensions. We show that the energy spectrum depends on the spin of the Dirac particle.

Schrödinger Equation with a Coulomb Field in 2+1 Dimensions

Shishan Dong, Shi‐Hai Dong

The solutions of the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a Coulomb potential are briefly studied and compared with those of the Klein-Gordon case studied in this work. The eigenvalues and the normalized eigenfunctions are analytically obtained. The fine structure of the energy level for this system is also discussed.

Schrödinger equation in two dimensions for a zero-range potential and a uniform magnetic field: An exactly solvable model

J. Fernando Perez, Francisco Antônio Bezerra Coutinho

The spectrum and eigenfunctions of a particle moving in two dimensions under the influence of an external uniform magnetic field and in the presence of a ‘‘point interaction’’ is determined. This is done after an elementary discussion of how to construct a ‘‘point interaction’’ in two dimensions circumventing the well-known difficulties with the Dirac δ2(r) interaction.

Abstract The two-dimensional Dirac equation for a fermion moving under Kratzer potential in the presence of an external magnetic field is analytically being solved for the energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. Subsequently, we have obtained the Wigner function corresponding to the eigenfunctions.
