Abstract

Abstract The two-dimensional Dirac equation for a fermion moving under Kratzer potential in the presence of an external magnetic field is analytically being solved for the energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. Subsequently, we have obtained the Wigner function corresponding to the eigenfunctions.

Algebraic approach to the Kratzer potential

Mohammad Reza Setare, Ebrahim Karimi

In this paper, the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are calculated for the Kratzer potential. Then we obtain the ladder operators for the one-dimensional (1D) and 3D Kratzer potential. Finally, we show that these operators satisfy the SU(2) commutation relation.

Weyl–Wigner correspondence in two space dimensions

Joachim Dahl, Sándor Varró, A. Wolf +1 more

We consider Wigner functions in two space dimensions. In particular, we focus on Wigner functions corresponding to energy eigenstates of a non-relativistic particle moving in two dimensions in the absence of a potential. With the help of the Weyl–Wigner correspondence we first transform the eigenvalue equations for energy and angular momentum into phase space. As a result we arrive at partial differential equations in phase space which determine the corresponding Wigner function. We then solve the resulting equations using appropriate coordinates.

By solving the Dirac function, the paper obtained the phase changes of the wave function in non-commutative space and non-commutative phase space when a neutral spin-1/2 particle with nonzero magnetic and electric dipoles moved in an external electromagnetic field, and discussed the related Aharonov-Casher effect and the He-McKellar-Wilkens effect.

Motion in a Constant Magnetic Field

M. H. Johnson, Bernard A. Lippmann

The motion of a charged particle in a constant magnetic field is treated in both relativistic and non-relativistic quantum theory. Operators representing the center of the orbit, which obey the commutation law for conjugate variables, are introduced and their connections with energy, angular momentum, and magnetic moment studied. Energy eigenfunctions in an operator form are obtained by factorization. Previously derived eigenfunctions in coordinate space are obtained and are shown to be eigenfunctions for the operators for the center of the orbit as well as for the energy. Corresponding relativistic eigenfunctions are derived by a simple device which enables one to construct solutions of the Dirac equation from solutions of the Schr\"odinger equation.

Winger Function for Spin Half Non-commutativeLandau Problem

Yi Yuan

With great significance in describing the state of quantum system, the Wigner function of the spin half non-commutative Landau problem is studied in this paper. On the basis of the review of the Wigner function in the commutative space, which is subject to the *-eigenvalue equation,Hamiltonian of the spin half Landau problem in the non-commutative phase space is given. Then, energy levels and Wigner functions in the form of a matrix of the spin half Landau problem in the non-commutative phase space are obtained by means of the *-eigenvalue equation(or Moyal equation).

Schrödinger equation in two dimensions for a zero-range potential and a uniform magnetic field: An exactly solvable model

J. Fernando Perez, Francisco Antônio Bezerra Coutinho

The spectrum and eigenfunctions of a particle moving in two dimensions under the influence of an external uniform magnetic field and in the presence of a ‘‘point interaction’’ is determined. This is done after an elementary discussion of how to construct a ‘‘point interaction’’ in two dimensions circumventing the well-known difficulties with the Dirac δ2(r) interaction.
