Site-diluted Ising model in four dimensions

Abstract

In the literature, there are five distinct fragmented sets of analytic predictions for the scaling behavior at the phase transition in the random-site Ising model in four dimensions. Here, the scaling relations for logarithmic corrections are used to complete the scaling pictures for each set. A numerical approach is then used to confirm the leading scaling picture coming from these predictions and to discriminate between them at the level of logarithmic corrections.

The four dimensional site-diluted Ising model: a finite-size scaling study

H.G. Ballesteros, L. A. Fernández, Víctor Martín-Mayor +4 more

Using finite-size scaling techniques, we study the critical properties of the site-diluted Ising model in four dimensions. We carry out a high-statistics Monte Carlo simulation for several values of the dilution. The results support the perturbative scenario: there is only the Ising fixed point with large logarithmic scaling corrections. We obtain, using the Perturbative Renormalization Group, functional forms for the scaling of several observables that are in agreement with the numerical data.

Scaling analysis of the site-diluted Ising model in two dimensions

Ralph Kenna B, Juan Jesus Ruiz-Lorenzo

A combination of recent numerical and theoretical advances are applied to analyze the scaling behavior of the site-diluted Ising model in two dimensions, paying special attention to the implications for multiplicative logarithmic corrections. The analysis focuses primarily on the odd sector of the model (i.e., that associated with magnetic exponents), and in particular on its Lee-Yang zeros, which are determined to high accuracy. Scaling relations are used to connect to the even (thermal) sector, and a first analysis of the density of zeros yields information on the specific heat and its corrections. The analysis is fully supportive of the strong scaling hypothesis and of the scaling relations for logarithmic corrections.

Site-diluted three-dimensional Ising model with long-range correlated disorder

H.G. Ballesteros, Giorgio Parisi A

We present numerical simulations of the site-diluted Ising model in three dimensions in the presence of two different forms of quenched disorder with long-range correlations. We use finite-size scaling techniques to compute the critical exponents of these two systems, taking into account the strong corrections to scaling. We find a value of the critical exponent \ensuremath{\nu} that is compatible with the analytical predictions.

Griffiths singularities in the two-dimensional diluted Ising model

Juan Jesus Ruiz-Lorenzo

We study numerically the probability distribution of the Yang - Lee zeroes inside the Griffiths phase for the two-dimensional site diluted Ising model and we check that the shape of this distribution is that predicted in previous analytical works. By studying the finite-size scaling of the averaged smallest zero at the phase transition we extract, for two values of the dilution, the anomalous dimension, , which agrees very well with the previous estimated values.

Ising exponents in the two-dimensional site-diluted Ising model

H.G. Ballesteros, L. A. Fernández, Víctor Martín-Mayor +3 more

We study the site-diluted Ising model in two dimensions with Monte Carlo simulations. Using finite-size scaling techniques we compute the critical exponents observing deviations from the pure Ising ones. The differences can be explained as the effects of logarithmic corrections, without requiring us to change the universality class.

The universality class of 3D site-diluted and bond-diluted Ising systems

Martin Hasenbusch B, Francesco Parisen Toldin, Andrea Pelissetto C +1 more

We present a finite-size scaling analysis of high-statistics Monte Carlo simulations of the three-dimensional randomly site-diluted and bond-diluted Ising model. The critical behaviour of these systems is affected by slowly decaying scaling corrections which make the accurate determination of their universal asymptotic behaviour quite hard, requiring an effective control of the scaling corrections. For this purpose we exploit improved Hamiltonians, for which the leading scaling corrections are suppressed for any thermodynamic quantity, and improved observables, for which the leading scaling corrections are suppressed for any model belonging to the same universality class. The results of the finite-size scaling analysis provide strong numerical evidence that phase transitions in three-dimensional randomly site-diluted and bond-diluted Ising models belong to the same randomly dilute Ising universality class. We obtain accurate estimates of the critical exponents, ν = 0.683(2), η = 0.036(1), α = −0.049(6), γ = 1.341(4), β = 0.354(1), δ = 4.792(6), and of the leading and next-to-leading correction-to-scaling exponents, ω = 0.33(3) and ω 2 = 0.82(8).
