Consider a system consisting of n d-dimensional quantum particles and an arbitrary pure state $|\ensuremath{\Psi}〉$ of the whole system. Suppose we simultaneously perform complete von Neumann measurements on each particle. The Shannon entropy of the outcomes' joint probability distribution is a functional of the state $|\ensuremath{\Psi}〉$ and of n measurements chosen for each particle. Denote $S[\ensuremath{\Psi}]$ the minimum of this entropy over all choices of the measurements. We show that $S[\ensuremath{\Psi}]$ coincides with the entropy of entanglement for bipartite states. We compute $S[\ensuremath{\Psi}]$ for some special multipartite states: the hexacode state
∣H〉 (n=6, d=2) and the determinant states
∣Detn〉 (d=n). The computation yields
S[H]=4log2 and
S[Detn]=log(n!). Counterparts of the determinant state defined for
d<n are also considered.
Classification and quantification of bipartite qubit, tripartite qubit, and bipartite qutrit entanglement are studied in detail based on the entanglement measure of multipartite pure states. The results show that different ways of pure state entanglement can be characterized by extremal values of the corresponding entanglement measure under the stochastic local operation and classical communication(SLOCC). Detailed analysis shows that there are three different kinds of entanglement under the SLOCC in both tripartite qubit and bipartite qutrit pure state systems. Comparison of the measure with the recently proposed entropy-product measure is made and briefly discussed.
Entanglement of pure states of bipartite quantum systems has been shown to have a unique measure in terms of the von Neumann entropy of the reduced states of either of its subsystems. The measure is established under entanglement manipulation of an asymptotically large number of copies of the bipartite pure state. In this paper, two different asymptotic measures of entanglement for arbitrary sequences of bipartite pure states are established. These are shown to coincideonly whenthe sequence isinformation stable, in terms of the quantum spectral information rates of its corresponding sequence of subsystem states. Additional bounds on the optimal rates of entanglement manipulation protocols in quantum information theory are also presented. These include bounds given by generalizations of the coherent information bounds, Rains' bound, and the relative entropy of entanglement.
In this paper, we investigate the characterization of multipartite entanglement based on the unified
(q,s)-entropy framework. For bipartite quantum states, we propose an entanglement measure
Eq,sA∣B(ρ) based on unified entropy and derive several analytical lower bounds for it using local orthonormal observables. We demonstrate with concrete examples that our lower bounds provide tighter estimates of quantum entanglement than several existing analytical bounds. For multipartite quantum states, based on unified entropy, we propose two measures
Aq,sk(ρ) and
Gq,sk(ρ) for quantifying
k-nonseparability, and prove that these measures satisfy several desirable properties, such as faithfulness, local unitary invariance, and convexity. Moreover, we rigorously prove that when the parameters
q and
s are in certain ranges,
Aq,sk(ρ) and
Gq,sk(ρ) also satisfy monotonicity and strong monotonicity. Furthermore, we establish the order relations of the measures
Aq,sk(ρ) and
Gq,sk(ρ) with respect to the parameters
q and
s for fixed quantum states. In addition, for fixed
q and
s, we also give their order relations for any two pure states.
