Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the characterization of multipartite entanglement based on the unified $(q,s)$-entropy framework. For bipartite quantum states, we propose an entanglement measure $E_{q,s}^{A|B}(ρ)$ based on unified entropy and derive several analytical lower bounds for it using local orthonormal observables. We demonstrate with concrete examples that our lower bounds provide tighter estimates of quantum entanglement than several existing analytical bounds. For multipartite quantum states, based on unified entropy, we propose two measures $A^k_{q,s}(ρ)$ and $G^k_{q,s}(ρ)$ for quantifying $k$-nonseparability, and prove that these measures satisfy several desirable properties, such as faithfulness, local unitary invariance, and convexity. Moreover, we rigorously prove that when the parameters $q$ and $s$ are in certain ranges, $A^k_{q,s}(ρ)$ and $G^k_{q,s}(ρ)$ also satisfy monotonicity and strong monotonicity. Furthermore, we establish the order relations of the measures $A^k_{q,s}(ρ)$ and $G^k_{q,s}(ρ)$ with respect to the parameters $q$ and $s$ for fixed quantum states. In addition, for fixed $q$ and $s$, we also give their order relations for any two pure states.

Two-parameter bipartite entanglement measure

Entanglement concurrence is an important bipartite entanglement measure that has found wide applications in quantum technologies. In this work, inspired by unified entropy, we introduce a two-parameter family of entanglement measures, referred to as the unified $(q,s)$-concurrence. Both the standard entanglement concurrence and the recently proposed $q$-concurrence emerge as special cases within this family. By combining the positive partial transposition and realignment criteria, we derive an analytical lower bound for this measure for arbitrary bipartite mixed states, revealing a connection to strong separability criteria. Explicit expressions are obtained for the unified $(q,s)$-concurrence in the cases of isotropic and Werner states under the constraint $q>1$ and $qs\geq 1$. Furthermore, we explore the monogamy properties of the unified $(q,s)$-concurrence for $q\geq 2$, $0\leq s\leq 1$ and $1\leq qs\leq 3$, in qubit systems. In addition, we derive an entanglement polygon inequality for the unified $(q,s)$-concurrence with $q\geq 1$ and $qs\geq 1$, which manifests the relationship among all the marginal entanglements in any multipartite qudit system.

Family of two-parameter multipartite entanglement measures

Yu Luo, Zhihua Guo, Fanxu Meng +1 more

Multipartite entanglement is regarded as a crucial physical resource in quantum network communication. However, due to the intrinsic complexity of quantum many-body systems, identifying a multipartite entanglement measure that is both efficiently computable and capable of accurately characterizing entanglement remains a challenging problem. To address these issues, we propose a family of two-parameter multipartite entanglement measures for mixed states, termed unified-entropy concentratable entanglements. Many well-known multipartite entanglement measures are recovered as special cases of this family of measures, such as the entanglement of formation and the concentratable entanglements introduced in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 127, 140501 (2021)]. We demonstrate that the unified-entropy concentratable entanglements constitutes a well-defined entanglement monotones, and establish several desirable properties it satisfies, such as subadditivity and continuity. We further investigate the ordering relations of unified-entropy concentratable entanglements and discuss how these quantities can be efficiently estimated on near-term quantum devices. As an application, we demonstrate that the unified-entropy concentratable entanglements can effectively distinguish between multi-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states and W states. The ordering relations of these entanglement measures are further validated using four-partite star quantum network states and four-qubit Dicke states. Moreover, we find that the unified-entropy concentratable entanglements exhibit greater sensitivity than the original concentratable entanglements in detecting certain four-partite star quantum network states.

Unified entropy entanglement with tighter constraints on multipartite systems

Qi Long Sun, Tao Li, Zhi‐Xiang Jin +1 more

Monogamy and polygamy relations characterize the distributions of entanglement in multipartite systems. We provide a characterization of multiqubit entanglement constraints in terms of unified-(q, s) entropy. A class of tighter monogamy inequalities of multiqubit entanglement based on the α-th power of unified-(q, s) entanglement for α ≥ 1 and a class of polygamy inequalities in terms of the β-th power of unified-(q, s) entanglement of assistance are established in this paper. Our results present a general class of the monogamy and polygamy relations for bipartite entanglement measures based on unified-(q, s) entropy, which are tighter than the existing ones. What is more, some usual monogamy and polygamy relations, such as monogamy and polygamy relations based on entanglement of formation, Renyi-q entanglement of assistance and Tsallis-q entanglement of assistance, can be obtained from these results by choosing appropriate parameters (q, s) in unified-(q, s) entropy entanglement. Typical examples are also presented for illustration.

Unified entropy entanglement

Wenxue Ren, Binghao Li, Ruiqun Niu +2 more

The unified entropy as a promotion of the von Neumann entropy exhibits distinct diversity which contains the Tsallis entropy, the Rényi entropy, the von Neumann entropy as special cases. The unified-($r,t$) entropy entanglement with $0<r<1$ and $0< t\leq 1$ was shown to be an entanglement monotone in literature. In this paper, we explore unified-($q,s$) entropy entanglement with $q>1$ and $qs\geq1$ and show that it is also an entanglement monotone and that both of them are monogamous. Going further, we present two kinds of global multipartite entanglement measures (GlMEMs) based on the unified entropy and each kind has two subclasses which are classified by the parameters $(q,s)$ and $(r,t)$. Consequently, from the view of the complete multipartite entanglement measure theory, we show that one of them is a complete multipartite entanglement monotone and is not only completely monogamous but also tightly completely monogamous, but the other three are even not complete. We also explore the genuine entanglement measures induced by the unified entropy and the relations with the bipartite entanglement and the global entanglement are discussed, respectively.

Observable measures of multipartite entanglement

Francois Payn, Davide Girolami

Multipartite entanglement is the premier resource for quantum technologies. Yet, its exact quantification in the laboratory is notoriously challenging, typically requiring the full knowledge of high dimensional quantum states. Here, we construct observable bounds to multipartite entanglement for systems of arbitrary size, which are functions of the local and global state purities, and correlation functions. First, we derive experimentally accessible upper and lower limits to both the bipartite entanglement of formation and the squashed entanglement of bipartite systems, by leveraging cornerstone results of quantum information theory: the entropy strong subadditivity inequality and the Koashi-Winter monogamy relation. Then, we convert them into bounds to the entanglement up to degree k for arbitrary states, and to the genuine k-partite entanglement, by employing a recently proposed method. Finally, we analytically and numerically test these results, by bounding the multipartite entanglement of several relevant states and mixtures, including the important classes of GHZ, Dicke, W states, and random pure states.

Parametrized multipartite entanglement measures

Hui Li, Ting Gao, Fengli Yan

We investigate parametrized multipartite entanglement measures from the perspective of $k$ nonseparability in this paper. We present two types of entanglement measures in $n$-partite systems, $q\text{\ensuremath{-}}k\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{ME}$ concurrence $(q>1,\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}2\ensuremath{\le}k\ensuremath{\le}n)$ and $\ensuremath{\alpha}\text{\ensuremath{-}}k\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{ME}$ concurrence $(0\ensuremath{\le}\ensuremath{\alpha}<1,\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}2\ensuremath{\le}k\ensuremath{\le}n)$, which unambiguously detect all $k$-nonseparable states in arbitrary $n$-partite systems. Rigorous proofs show that the proposed $k$-nonseparable measures satisfy all the requirements for being an entanglement measure including the entanglement monotone, strong monotone, convexity, vanishing on all $k$-separable states, and being strictly greater than zero for all $k$-nonseparable states. In particular, the $q\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{2}\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{ME}$ concurrence and $\ensuremath{\alpha}\text{\ensuremath{-}}2\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{ME}$ concurrence, renamed as $q\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{GME}$ concurrence and $\ensuremath{\alpha}\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{GME}$ concurrence, respectively, are two kinds of genuine entanglement measures corresponding to the case where the systems are divided into bipartition $(k=2)$. The lower bounds of the two classes $k$-nonseparable measures are obtained by employing the approach that takes into account the permutationally invariant part of a quantum state. Furthermore, the relations between $q\text{\ensuremath{-}}n\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{ME}$ concurrence $(\ensuremath{\alpha}\text{\ensuremath{-}}n\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{ME}$ concurrence) and global negativity are established. In addition, we discuss the degree of separability and elaborate on an effective detection method with concrete examples. Moreover, we compare the $q\text{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{GME}$ concurrence defined by us to other genuine entanglement measures.
