EXACTLY SOLVABLE EFFECTIVE MASS D-DIMENSIONAL SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION FOR PSEUDOHARMONIC AND MODIFIED KRATZER PROBLEMS

Abstract

The point canonical transformation (PCT) approach is used to solve the Schrödinger equation for an arbitrary dimension D with a power-law position-dependent effective mass (PDEM) distribution function for the pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer (Mie-type) diatomic molecular potentials. In mapping the transformed exactly solvable D-dimensional (D ≥ 2) Schrödinger equation with constant mass into the effective mass equation by using a proper transformation, the exact bound state solutions including the energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions are derived. The well-known pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer exact eigenstates of various dimensionality is manifested.

EXACT SOLUTION OF THE SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION FOR THE MODIFIED KRATZER'S MOLECULAR POTENTIAL WITH POSITION-DEPENDENT MASS

RAMAZÀN SEVER, CEVDET TEZCAN

Exact solutions of Schrödinger equation are obtained for the modified Kratzer and the corrected Morse potentials with the position-dependent effective mass. The bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are calculated for any angular momentum for target potentials. Various forms of point canonical transformations are applied.

Effective Mass Schrodinger Equation for Exactly Solvable Class of One-Dimensional Potentials

Metin Aktaş, R. Sever

We deal with the exact solutions of Schrodinger equation characterized by position-dependent effective mass via point canonical transformations. The Morse, Poschl-Teller and Hulthen type potentials are considered respectively. With the choice of position-dependent mass forms, exactly solvable target potentials are constructed. Their energy of the bound states and corresponding wavefunctions are determined exactly.

Solutions of the nonrelativistic wave equation with position-dependent effective mass

Abdulaziz D Alhaidari

Given a spatially dependent mass distribution, we obtain potential functions for exactly solvable nonrelativistic problems. The energy spectrum of the bound states and their wave functions are written down explicitly. This is accomplished by mapping the wave equation for these systems into well-known exactly solvable Schr\"odinger equations with constant mass using point canonical transformation. The Oscillator, Coulomb, and Morse class of potentials are considered.

On solutions of the Schrödinger equation for some molecular potentials: wave function ansatz

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

Abstract Making an ansatz to the wave function, the exact solutions of the D-dimensional radial Schrödinger equation with some molecular potentials, such as pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer, are obtained. Restrictions on the parameters of the given potential, δ and ν are also given, where η depends on a linear combination of the angular momentum quantum number ℓ and the spatial dimensions D and δ is a parameter in the ansatz to the wave function. On inserting D = 3, we find that the bound state eigensolutions recover their standard analytical forms in literature.

Nonrelativistic and Nonstationary Effective Mass Bound-Spectra Analysis of Squared Class Trigonometric Potentials Through the Point Canonical Formalism

Metin Aktaş

The present paper engages in a particular attempt to acquire exact analytical eigensolutions of the position-dependent effective mass (PDEM) Schrödinger equation for a variety of squared style trigonometric potentials. The algebraic process entitled as the point canonical transformation (PCT) approach is implemented in the course of study. Certain spatially varying effective mass configurations have been utilized in establishing of the target system. Then, performing the systematic computational procedures enables us to determine not only the possible explicit forms of both discrete energy spectra and their corresponding wavefunctions but also canonical counterparts of original potentials, involved in the framework of PDEM based quantum systems.

On the position-dependent mass Schrödinger equation for Mie-type potentials

Gerardo Ovando, José Juan Peña, J. Morales +1 more

Abstract The exactly solvable Position Dependent Mass Schrödinger Equation (PDMSE) for Mie-type potentials is presented. To that, by means of a point canonical transformation the exactly solvable constant mass Schrödinger equation is transformed into a PDMSE. The mapping between both Schrödinger equations lets obtain the energy spectra and wave functions for the potential under study. This happens for any selection of the O von Roos ambiguity parameters involved in the kinetic energy operator. The exactly solvable multiparameter exponential-type potential for the constant mass Schrödinger equation constitutes the reference problem allowing to solve the PDMSE for Mie potentials and mass functions of the form given by m(x) = skx s-1/(xs + 1))2. Thereby, as a useful application of our proposal, the particular Lennard-Jones potential is presented as an example of Mie potential by considering the mass distribution m(x) = 6kx 5/(x 6 + 1))2. The proposed method is general and can be straightforwardly applied to the solution of the PDMSE for other potential models and/or with different position-dependent mass distributions.
