Detecting the concurrence of an unknown state with a single observable

Zhihao Ma, Zhihua Chen, Jing‐Ling Chen

While the detection of entanglement has been proved already to be quite a difficult task, experimental quantification of entanglement is even more challenging. In this work, we derive an analytical lower bound for the concurrence of a bipartite mix quantum state in arbitrary dimension. The lower bound is experimentally implementable in a feasible way, which enabling quantification of entanglement in a broad variety of cases

We quantify an unknown mixed quantum state's entanglement by suitable, local parity measurements on its twofold copy. The associated observable qualifies as a generalized entanglement witness.

Entanglement of 2× K quantum systems

We derive an analytical expression for the lower bound of the concurrence of mixed quantum states of composite 2 × K systems. In contrast to other, implicitly defined entanglement measures, the numerical evaluation of our bound is straightforward. We explicitly evaluate its tightness for general mixed states of 2 × 3 systems, and identify a large class of states where our expression gives the exact value of the concurrence.

A lower bound of concurrence for multipartite quantum states

Ming Li, Shao-Ming Fei, Zhi‐Xi Wang

We study the concurrence of arbitrary multipartite mixed quantum states. An explicit lower bound of the concurrence is derived, which detects quantum entanglement of some states better than some separability criteria, and gives sufficient conditions for distilling GHZ states from tripartite states. An interesting relation between the lower bound of the concurrence for bipartite states and for tripartite states has been presented.

Evolution of entanglement for quantum mixed states

Chang‐shui Yu, X. X. Yi, He‐Shan Song

A simple relation is introduced for concurrence to describe how much the entanglement of a bipartite system is at least left if either (or both) subsystem undergoes an arbitrary physical process. This provides a lower bound for concurrence of mixed states (pure states are included) in contrast to the upper bound given by Konrad et al. [Nat. Phys. 4, 99 (2008)]. Our results are also suitable for general high-dimensional bipartite quantum systems.
