Abstract

Adopting the framework of the Jaynes–Cummings model with an external quantum field, we obtain exact analytical expressions of the normally ordered moments for any kind of cavity and driving fields. Such analytical results are expressed in the integral form, with their integrands having a commom term that describes the product of the Glauber–Sudarshan quasiprobability distribution functions for each field, and a kernel responsible for the entanglement. Considering a specific initial state of the tripartite system, the normally ordered moments are then applied to investigate not only the squeezing effect and the nonlocal correlation measure based on the total variance of a pair of Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen type operators for continuous variable systems, but also the Shchukin–Vogel criterion. This kind of numerical investigation constitutes the first quantitative characterization of the entanglement properties for the driven Jaynes–Cummings model.

An investigation of entanglement and quasiprobability distribution in a generalized Jaynes-Cummings model

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty

In this paper, we consider a unified approach to study the degree of entanglement of two-level systems interacting with a quantized electromagnetic field. We investigate a range of parameters in a generalized Jaynes–Cummings model (JC-model) with intensity-dependent, field nonlinearity and nonresonant coupling. In terms of the density matrix and without the diagonal approximation we derive an explicit expression for the entanglement degree using a function analogous to mutual entropy. This notion is inspired by the fact that the quantum state may be interpreted as a measure of information. With the aid of the quasiprobability distribution function, the statistical properties of the field are analyzed. It is shown that when the atom is initially in its upper-level and the one-photon at resonance, the Q-function splits into two peaks and counter rotate in phase space.

Time ordering in the classically driven nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings model

Tobias Lipfert, F. Krumm, Mikhail I. Kolobov +1 more

Recently [F. Krumm and W. Vogel, Phys. Rev. A 97, 043806 (2018)], the detuned and nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings model describing the quantized motion of a trapped ion was introduced and its corresponding dynamics was solved via considering the driving laser in a quantized manner. For the dynamics with a classical driving laser an approximation in terms of neglected time ordering was considered to obtain analytical expressions and compared to numerically obtained exact dynamics, which revealed the insufficiency of this approximation. In the present work we reconsider this model and show that it can likewise be solved analytically, i.e., including time ordering, with a classical driving laser field. Using the analytical solution, we investigate the quantum time-ordering effects of the system with respect to nonclassicality and nonsimulatability of the motional states of the ion. Furthermore, we use the Magnus expansion to analyze the impact of certain orders of the time ordering. We derive an exact radius of convergence for these time-ordering corrections beyond the established and only sufficient criterion. Finally, the differences between the solution derived here and the previously found one using a quantized pump are discussed.

Tripartite entanglement dynamics and entropic squeezing of a three-level atom interacting with a bimodal cavity field

Mohammad Javad Faghihi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, M. Bagheri Harouni

In this paper, we study the interaction between a $Λ$-type three-level atom and two quantized electromagnetic fields which are simultaneously injected in a bichromatic cavity surrounded by a Kerr medium in the presence of the field-field interaction (parametric down conversion) and detuning parameters. By applying a canonical transformation, the introduced model is reduced to a well-known form of the generalized Jaynes-Cummings model. Under particular initial conditions which may be prepared for the atom and the field, the time evolution of state vector of the entire system is analytically evaluated. Then, the dynamics of atom is studied through the evolution of the atomic population inversion. In addition, two different measures of entanglement between the tripartite system (three entities make the system: two field modes and one atom) i.e., von Neumann and linear entropy are investigated. Also, two kinds of entropic uncertainty relations, from which entropy squeezing can be obtained, are discussed. In each case, the influences of the detuning parameters and Kerr medium on the above nonclassicality features are analyzed via numerical results, in detail. It is illustrated that the amount of the above-mentioned physical phenomena can be tuned by choosing the evolved parameters, appropriately.
