Abstract

The Schrodinger equation with the PT-symmetric Hulthen potential is solved exactly by taking into account effect of the centrifugal barrier for any l-state. Eigenfunctions are obtained in terms of the Jacobi polynomials. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used in the computations. Our numerical results are in good agreement with the ones obtained before. Keywords: Energy Eigenvalues and Eigenfunctions; Hulthen potential; PT-symmetry; Nikiforov-Uvarov Method.

BOUND-STATES OF A SEMI-RELATIVISTIC EQUATION FOR THE ${\cal PT}$-SYMMETRIC GENERALIZED HULTHÉN POTENTIAL BY THE NIKIFOROV–UVAROV METHOD

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

The one-dimensional semi-relativistic equation has been solved for the [Formula: see text]-symmetric generalized Hulthén potential. The Nikiforov–Uvarov (NU) method which is based on solving the second-order linear differential equations by reduction to a generalized equation of hypergeometric type, is used to obtain exact energy eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions. We have investigated the positive and negative exact bound states of the s-states for different types of complex generalized Hulthén potentials.

Exact Solution of Generalized Woods Saxon Potential in PT Symmetric Quantum Mechanics via Nikiforov Uvarov Method

Cüneyt Berkdemir, Ayşe Berkdemir, R. Sever

We investigate complex PT and non-PT-symmetric forms of the generalized Woods- Saxon potential. We also look for exact solutions of the Schrodinger equation for the PT and/or non-PT-symmetric potentials of the kind mentioned above. Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used to obtain their energy eigenvalues and associated eigenfunctions.

Eigensolution and Expectation Values of the Hulthen and Generalized Inverse Quadratic Yukawa Potential

Abstract: In this study, the Schrödinger equation was solved with a superposition of the Hulthen potential and generalized inverse quadratic Yukawa potential model using the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. For completeness, we also calculated the wave function. To validate our results, the numerical bound state energy eigenvalues was computed for various principal n and angular momentum l quantum numbers. With the aid of the Hellmann-Feynman theorem, the expressions for the expectation values of the square of inverse of position, r^(-2), inverse of position, r^(-1), kinetic energy, T ̂ and square of momentum, p ̂ are calculated. By adjusting the potential parameters, special cases of the potential were considered, resulting in Generalized Inverse Quadratic Yukawa potential, Hulthen potential, Coulomb potential, Kratzer potential, Inversely Quadratic Yukawa potential and Coulomb plus inverse square potential, respectively. Their energy eigenvalue expressions and numerical computations agreed with the literature. Approximate Solutions of the Schrödinger Equation for the Eckart Potential and Its Parity-Time-Symmetric Version Including Centrifugal Term

Aiping Zhang, Qiang Wen-Chao, Ling Ya-wen

The energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Schrödinger equation for Eckart potential as well as the parity-time-symmetric version of the potential in three dimensions with the centrifugal term are investigated approximately by using the Nikiforov–Uvarov method. To show the accuracy of our results, we calculate the energy eigenvalues for various values of n and l. It is found that the results are in good agreement with the numerical solutions for short-range potential (large a). For the case of 1/a  i/a, the potential is also studied briefly.

Arbitrary l-solutions of the Schrödinger equation interacting with Hulthén – Hellmann potential model

Eddy Sunday William, Etido Patrick Inyang, E. A. Thompson

In this study, we obtained bound state solutions of the radial Schrödinger equation by the superposition of Hulthén plus Hellmann potential within the framework of Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method for an arbitrary - states. The corresponding normalized wave functions expressed in terms of Jacobi polynomial for a particle exposed to this potential field was also obtained. The numerical energy eigenvalues for different quantum state have been computed. Six special cases are also considered and their energy eigenvalues are obtained. Our results are found to be in good agreement with the results in literature. The behavior of energy in the ground and excited state for different quantum state are studied graphically.
