Abstract

The four Bell-type entangled coherent states, $\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩$ and $\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}⟩$, can be discriminated with a high probability using only linear optical means, as long as $\ensuremath{\mid}\ensuremath{\alpha}\ensuremath{\mid}$ is not too small. Based on this observation, we propose a simple scheme to almost completely teleport a superposed coherent state. The nonunitary transformation that is required to complete the teleportation can be achieved by embedding the receiver's field state in a larger Hilbert space consisting of the field and a single atom and performing a unitary transformation on this Hilbert space.

Near-complete teleportation with coherent state qubits

Yong Wook Cheong, Hai-Woong Lee

We show that it is in principle possible to teleport a superposed coherent state with the success probability and fidelity of nearly 100% using only linear optical means and an atom-filed interaction. A successful completion of the teleportation requires, however, photocounters that can distinguish between odd and even numbers of photons.

Near-complete teleportation of two-mode four-component entangled coherent states

Jie‐Qiao Liao, Le‐Man Kuang

In this paper, we propose an optical scheme to almost completely teleport a two-mode four-component entangled coherent state in terms of optical devices such as nonlinear Kerr media, beam splitters, phase shifters and photon detectors. Different from those previous schemes in which exact photon number discrimination is needed, in our scheme one only needs to make ‘yes’ and ‘no’ measurements upon the photon numbers in related modes. This scheme can also be understood as an entanglement swapping protocol.

Teleportation of entangled coherent state through bipartite entangled quantum channels

Liu Chuan-Long, Yi-Zhuang Zheng, 温州大学物理与电子信息学院,温州 325027

We propose a scheme for teleportation of an entangled coherent state through bipartite entangled quantum channels. We study the problem in both coherent state picture and orthogonal basis picture composed of coherent states, and find that in the coherent state picture teleportation can be implemented using only linear elements, but the probability of success is less than 1/2, while in the orthogonal basis picture the probability of successful teleportation reaches 1 as long as the four Bell states can be discriminated.

Teleportation of an arbitrary three-atom W state with cluster state

Yan Li

A scheme for teleportation of an unknown three-atom entangled W state is proposed,in which a cluster state of four identical two-level atoms is used as quantum channel. It is proved that,an arbitrary three-atom entangled W state can be teleported perfectly by introducing an additional atom and performing a collective unitary transformation as well as appropriate single-atom unitary transformations on the receiver's side based on the classical information of the sender. In the scheme, the effects of the thermal field and the cavity decay are eliminated.Furthermore, the Bell measurements are not needed, and the successful probability of teleportation is 1.

Complete Bell state measurement for polarization–path high-dimensional hyperentangled photons

Zhi Zeng

We present a theoretical scheme for the complete Bell state measurement (BSM) for high-dimensional hyperentangled photons in polarization and path degrees of freedom (DOFs), in which the polarization entanglement is in two-dimensional Hilbert space and the path entanglement is in four-dimensional Hilbert space. This 2×4-dimensional photonic quantum system contains 64 mutually orthogonal high-dimensional hyperentangled Bell states, which can be unambiguously discriminated by using weak cross-Kerr nonlinearity, linear optical element, and single-photon detector. This is the first complete BSM scheme for high-dimensional hyperentangled photons in two DOFs assisted by the quantum nonlinear effect, and we also demonstrate its application in the quantum superdense coding protocol, which allows the transmission of log 2 64=6 bits of classical information via just sending one photon. Moreover, our scheme only requires the achievable small nonlinear phase shift, and it can provide new avenues for other BSM-based quantum information technologies involving photonic high-dimensional hyperentanglement.
