Abstract

We present a theoretical study of the relationship between entanglement and entropy in multi-qubit quantum optical systems. Specifically we investigate quantitative relations between the concurrence and linear entropy for a two-qubit mixed system, implemented as two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode cavity field. The dynamical evolutions of the entanglement and entropy are controlled via time-dependent cavity–atom couplings. Our theoretical findings lead us to propose an alternative measure of entanglement, which could be used to develop a much needed correlation measure for more general multi-partite quantum systems.

ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS AND COHERENCE OF A TWO-LEVEL ATOM COUPLED TO TWO FIELD MODES IN THE DISPERSIVE APPROXIMATION

Jian-Song Zhang, PING YU, Aixi Chen

We investigate the entanglement dynamics and coherence loss of a two-level atom dispersively interacting with two coherent fields in a dissipative cavity by using the concurrence and linear entropy, respectively. It is shown that the atomic coherence can lead to entanglement between the atom and one mode while the two modes are always separable. We also find that there is long-lived coherence loss as the system evolves.

Properties of linear entropy evolution in dissipative atom-cavity system

Yang Xiao-ming

Based on quantum theory, an investigation is conducted on the evolution characteristics of linear entropies of 1) atoms, 2) two cavities and 3) atom-cavity system in the interaction process of two entangled dissipative cavities and a single two-level atom which runs through one of cavities. The effect of the dissipative constant and the coupling strength of interaction between atom and cavity field on all three linear entropies is discussed for the resonant case. The results show that all three linear entropies strongly depend on the dissipative constant of cavity and the coupling strength between cavity field and atoms. Furthermore, the dissipative constant and the strength of interaction between atoms and cavity field affect not only the amplitude of the oscillation of field quantum entropy evolution but also its periodicity.

Entanglement Properties of Three Two-level Atoms System Interacting with a Fock State Field

廖庆洪 Liao Qinghong, 龚黎华 GONG Li-hua

The dynamics of entanglement of three two-level atoms initially in GHZ state system interacting with a Fock state field are investigated by means of concurrence and linear entropy. The effect of photon number on the time evolution of concurrence and linear entropy is analyzed. The results show that the phenomenon of sudden birth of entanglement between two atoms trapped in a cavity occurs and the threshold time and maximum for the creation of the entanglement can be controlled by the photon number. The measurement of the atom outside the cavity leads to the periodic evolution of the concurrence and an increase of the photon number results in decreasing in the maximum of concurrence and shortening of the evolution period of the time behavior of concurrence.

Properties of linear entropy of the atom in a tripartite cavity-optomechanical system

Abstract We investigate the dynamics of linear entropy of an atom in a tripartite cavity-optomechanical system consisting of a two-level atom in a high-finesse optical cavity with a vibrating mirror at one end. The influence of atomic coherence on the time evolution of linear entropy is examined. It is shown that a Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger like state can be generated. Moreover, it is found that the entanglement between the atom and the subsystem of field and mirror can be controlled by atomic coherence and the parameters of optomechanical coupling coefficient and atom-field coupling strength.

Entropies and entanglement for decoherence without energy relaxation in a two-level atom

In this paper, we investigate the temporal evolution of various measures of degree of entanglement and total correlation of a single-mode light field interacting with a two-level atom. The phase-damped cavity is taken into account. The effects of phase damping on a temporal of partial entropies for the atom and the field, total entropy, the entropy difference and the sum of negative eigenvalues of the partially transposed density matrix as a quantitative entanglement measure for the master equation in the dressed-state approximation are taken into account.

Entanglement dynamics between a pair of two-level atoms and cavity fields connected by an optical fiber

Sayed Ali Sina Musavi

In this study, we theoretically investigate a system composed of two isolated two-level atoms, each confined within an independent single-mode optical cavity. The cavities are coherently coupled via an optical fiber, enabling photon-mediated interaction between the two subsystems. Each cavity sustains a single-mode quantized electromagnetic field, and each atom couples exclusively to the field within its respective cavity. We analyze the time dependent entanglement dynamics, exploring both atom-atom and cavity-field bipartite entanglement under this hybrid interaction framework. To quantify entanglement, we employ concurrence as the measurement metric. The effects of the atoms' initial states and the optical fiber’s coupling strength on both atom-atom and field-field entanglement are analyzed. Numerical results reveal that when the coupling strength of the optical fiber is close to zero, no entanglement is observed between either the atoms or the fields. However, as the fiber coupling strength increases, entanglement emerges and exhibits collapse and revival behavior over time.
