Entanglement distillation for three-particleWclass states

Abstract

In this paper, we propose two general entanglement distillation protocols which can concentrate the state (non-maximally entangled pure W state). The general protocols are mainly based on the unitary transformation on the auxiliary particle and one of the three entangled particles, and in the second protocol, the entanglement distillation includes two meanings, namely, extracting the concentrated tripartite entangled W state and obtaining the maximally entangled bipartite state from the 'garbage' state, which gives no contribution to the distillation of the state. We can make use of the 'garbage' in the distillation process, and make the entanglement waste in the quantum communication as small as possible. A feasible physical scheme is suggested based on the cavity QED.

Distillation of bi-partite entanglement from W state with cavity QED

Li Deng, Ai-Xi Chen, Chen De-Hai +1 more

Following the theoretical protocol described by Fortescue and Lo [Fortescue B and Lo H K 2007 Phys. Rev. Lett. 98 260501], we present a scheme in which one can distill maximally entangled bi-partite states from a tri-partite W state with cavity QED. Our scheme enables the concrete physical system to realize its protocol. In our scheme, the rate distillation also asymptotically approaches one. Based on the present cavity QED techniques, we discuss the experimental feasibility.

Quantum Entanglement Concentration Based on Nonlinear Optics for Quantum Communications

Yu‐Bo Sheng, Lan Zhou

Entanglement concentration is of most importance in long distance quantum communication and quantum computation. It is to distill maximally entangled states from pure partially entangled states based on the local operation and classical communication. In this review, we will mainly describe two kinds of entanglement concentration protocols. One is to concentrate the partially entangled Bell-state, and the other is to concentrate the partially entangled W state. Some protocols are feasible in current experimental conditions and suitable for the optical, electric and quantum-dot and optical microcavity systems.

Entanglement Distillation for Mixed States Using Particle Statistics

Huang Xiao-Li, Cheng Li-hong, YI Xue-Xi

We extend the idea of entanglement concentration protocol for pure states (Phys. Rev. Lett. 88 , 187903) to the case of entanglement distillation for mixed states. The scheme works only with particle statistics and local operations, without the need of any other interactions. We show that the maximally entangled state can be distilled out when the initial state is pure, otherwise the entanglement distilled depends on the off-diagonal element of density matrix of the initial state. Because of the requirement for density matrix, the entanglement distilled is always less than one, and this result is the same for both fermionic and bosonic particles. The distillation efficiency is a product of the diagonal elements of the initial state, it takes the maximum 50%, the same as that in the case for pure states.

Efficient Multi‐Stage Entanglement Distillation for W States

Sajede Harraz, Shuang Cong

ABSTRACT W states are essential resources in quantum communication and computation but are highly vulnerable to decoherence. We propose a three‐stage, non‐recursive entanglement distillation protocol that extracts a maximally entangled W state from multiple copies of amplitude‐damped W states, applicable to both the standard and generalized W states. Unlike conventional recursive schemes, the proposed protocol imposes no constraints on the initial fidelity of the input states and achieves unit‐fidelity distillation with improved efficiency and success probability. Instead of iteratively enhancing entanglement fidelity, our approach constructs a specific non‐trivial sacrificial‐state structure within the first two stages of the protocol. By sacrificing this intermediate state in the final stage, the protocol enables the distillation of a maximally entangled W state from an amplitude‐damped input, offering a new non‐recursive route to high‐fidelity multipartite entanglement purification. Comparative analysis demonstrates that the proposed method significantly outperforms the weak‐measurement‐based distillation protocol across all decay rates. The IBM Qiskit simulations further validate the analytical predictions, confirming both the correctness and the practical feasibility of the proposed protocol.

A physical scheme for atomic entangled states distillation is proposed via atom-cavity field interaction.Which is generalized to non-maximally entangled multi-atom states distillation. It is found from calculation outcome that the distillation probabilities of all kinds of entangled atomic states are the same, 2b 2.The advantage of the scheme is entangled distillation is realized through only introducing an auxiliary cavity and making a local operation. The scheme is simple and feasible in experiment.

Optimal distillation of quantum coherence with reduced waste of resources

Gökhan Torun, Ludovico Lami, Gerardo Adesso +1 more

We present an optimal probabilistic protocol to distill quantum coherence. Inspired by a specific entanglement distillation protocol, our main result yields a strictly incoherent operation that produces one of a family of maximally coherent states of variable dimension from any pure quantum state. We also expand this protocol to the case where it is possible, for some initial states, to avert any waste of resources as far as the output states are concerned, by exploiting an additional transformation into a suitable intermediate state. These results provide practical schemes for efficient quantum resource manipulation.
