Abstract

Following the theoretical protocol described by Fortescue and Lo [Fortescue B and Lo H K 2007 Phys. Rev. Lett. 98 260501], we present a scheme in which one can distill maximally entangled bi-partite states from a tri-partite W state with cavity QED. Our scheme enables the concrete physical system to realize its protocol. In our scheme, the rate distillation also asymptotically approaches one. Based on the present cavity QED techniques, we discuss the experimental feasibility.

Entanglement distillation for three-particleWclass states

Zhuo‐Liang Cao, Ming Yang

In this paper, we propose two general entanglement distillation protocols which can concentrate the state (non-maximally entangled pure W state). The general protocols are mainly based on the unitary transformation on the auxiliary particle and one of the three entangled particles, and in the second protocol, the entanglement distillation includes two meanings, namely, extracting the concentrated tripartite entangled W state and obtaining the maximally entangled bipartite state from the 'garbage' state, which gives no contribution to the distillation of the state. We can make use of the 'garbage' in the distillation process, and make the entanglement waste in the quantum communication as small as possible. A feasible physical scheme is suggested based on the cavity QED.

Scheme for Generation of Maximally Entangled States via Entanglement Swapping

Wu, Zhenzhen, Fang +3 more

Based on two atoms and two cavities initially in two pairs of atom-photon nonmaximally entangled states, we propose a relatively simple scheme to create maximally entangled photon-photon and atom-photon states via entanglement swapping using techniques of cavity QED inspired by the scheme proposed in [Phys. Rev. A 71 (2005)044302] and [Phys. Rev. A 71 (2005) 034312]. Our scheme does not involve the measurement in Bell basis, we only require detecting the states of atoms.

Entanglement distillation for atomic states by local operation

Zhimin Liu

A physical scheme for atomic entangled states distillation is proposed via atom-cavity field interaction.Which is generalized to non-maximally entangled multi-atom states distillation. It is found from calculation outcome that the distillation probabilities of all kinds of entangled atomic states are the same, 2b 2.The advantage of the scheme is entangled distillation is realized through only introducing an auxiliary cavity and making a local operation. The scheme is simple and feasible in experiment.

Entanglement Distillation for Mixed States Using Particle Statistics

Huang Xiao-Li, Cheng Li-hong, YI Xue-Xi

We extend the idea of entanglement concentration protocol for pure states (Phys. Rev. Lett. 88 , 187903) to the case of entanglement distillation for mixed states. The scheme works only with particle statistics and local operations, without the need of any other interactions. We show that the maximally entangled state can be distilled out when the initial state is pure, otherwise the entanglement distilled depends on the off-diagonal element of density matrix of the initial state. Because of the requirement for density matrix, the entanglement distilled is always less than one, and this result is the same for both fermionic and bosonic particles. The distillation efficiency is a product of the diagonal elements of the initial state, it takes the maximum 50%, the same as that in the case for pure states.

Experimentally obtaining maximal coherence via assisted distillation process

Kang‐Da Wu, Zhibo Hou, Han-Sen Zhong +4 more

Quantum coherence, which quantifies the superposition properties of a quantum state, plays an indispensable role in quantum resource theory. A recent theoretical work [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{116}, 070402 (2016)] studied the manipulation of quantum coherence in bipartite or multipartite systems under the protocol Local Incoherent Operation and Classical Communication (LQICC). Here we present the first experimental realization of obtaining maximal coherence in assisted distillation protocol based on linear optical system. The results of our work show that the optimal distillable coherence rate can be reached even in one-copy scenario when the overall bipartite qubit state is pure. Moreover, the experiments for mixed states showed that distillable coherence can be increased with less demand than entanglement distillation. Our work might be helpful in the remote quantum information processing and quantum control.
