Generalized Bell States and Quantum Teleportation

Abstract

We make a brief comment on measurement of quantum operators with degenerate eigenstates and apply to quantum teleportation. We also try extending the quantum teleportation by Bennett et al [5] to more general situation by making use of generalized Bell states.

Teleportation of quantum states

Lev Vaidman A

The recent result of Bennett et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 70, 1895 (1993)] of teleportation of an unknown quantum state is obtained in the framework of nonlocal measurements proposed by Aharonov and Albert [Phys. Rev. D 21, 3316 (1980); 24, 359 (1981)]. The latter method is generalized to the teleportation of a quantum state of a system with continuous variables.

Comment on “Scheme for teleportation of an unknown atomic state without the Bell-state measurement”

Ravindra W. Chhajlany, Antoni Wójcik

Recently, Ye and Guo [Phys. Rev. A 70, 054303 (2004)] have presented a scheme for implementing quantum teleportation of atomic states in cavity QED. In this Comment, we show that contrary to the authors' claim, the scheme is based on Bell-state measurement.

Reversible quantum operations and their application to teleportation

Michael A. Nielsen, Carlton M. Caves

Quantum operations provide a general description of the state changes allowed by quantum mechanics. Simple necessary and sufficient conditions for an ideal quantum operation to be reversible by a unitary operation are derived in this paper. These results generalize recent work on reversible measurements by Mabuchi and Zoller [Phys. Rev. Lett. 76, 3108 (1996)]. Quantum teleportation can be understood as a special case of the problem of reversing quantum operations. We characterize completely teleportation schemes of the type proposed by Bennett et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 70, 1895 (1993)].

Improved Probabilistic Quantum Teleportation By Repeated Generalized Bell State Measurement

Shamiya Javed, Ranjana Prakash, Hari Prakash

We propose a scheme of probabilistic quantum teleportation (PQT) in which Alice possesses both qubits of the entangled resource and makes repeated generalized Bell state measurement (GBSM) on the pair of qubits, consisting of (1) the qubit of information state and (2) one of the two entangled resource qubits (taken alternately) until quantum teleportation (QT) with perfect fidelity is indicated. Alice then sends to Bob, the qubit not used for last GBSM and also the result of this GBSM and Bob applies a suitable unitary transformation to replicate exactly the information state. We calculate the success probability upto 3rd repeated attempt of GBSM and plot it with concurrence of the entangled resource state.

The Probabilistic Teleportation via Bi-particle Mixed State

Shi Zhong-ke

In order to teleport the quantum state in realistic situation,a scheme of probabilistic teleportation an unknown mixed state with an entangled mixed state based on Bell measurement is presented. After analyzing the successful probability of teleportation,it is predicated that the process optimizes the probability of teleportation with the entangled mixed state, and then find that the probability of teleportation depends on it's the minimal eigenvalue. This scheme can be regarded as a generalization of the process presented by Bennett et al.
