Abstract

We propose a scheme for concentrating nonmaximally pure and mixed polarization-entangled state of individual photon pairs. The scheme uses only simple linear optical elements and may be feasible within current optical technology.

Preparation of polarization-entangled mixed states of two photons

Chuanwei Zhang

We propose a scheme for preparing arbitrary two-photons polarization-entangled mixed states via controlled location decoherence. The scheme uses only linear optical devices and single-mode optical fibers, and may be feasible in experiment within current optical technology.

Scheme for Concentration of Unknown Photonic GHZ Entangled States via Linear Optical Elements

Zhang Gang, Yang Ming, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

We propose two schemes to concentrate unknown nonmaximally tripartite GHZ entangled states via linear optical elements. The finial maximally entangled states obtained from our schemes are shared by two or three parties. Our schemes only need polarizing beam splitters and single-photon detectors. In addition, the schemes can be demonstrated within current experimental technology.

Optical Realization of Deterministic Entanglement Concentration of Polarized Photons

Gu Yong-Jian, Xian Liang, Wendong Li +1 more

We propose a scheme for optical realization of deterministic entanglement concentration of polarized photons. To overcome the difficulty due to the lack of sufficiently strong interactions between photons, teleportation is employed to transfer the polarization states of two photons onto the path and polarization states of a third photon, which is made possible by the recent experimental realization of the deterministic and complete Bell state measurement. Then the required positive operator-valued measurement and further operations can be implemented deterministically by using a linear optical setup. All these are within the reach of current technology.

Entanglement purification for arbitrary unknown ionic states via linear optics

Ming Yang, Wei Song, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

An entanglement purification scheme for arbitrary unknown (mixed and pure nonmaximally) entangled ionic states is proposed by using linear optical elements. The main advantage of the scheme is that not only two-ion maximally entangled pairs but also four-ion maximally entangled pairs can be extracted from the less entangled pairs. The scheme is within current technology.

Scheme for entanglement concentration of unknown W class states via linear optics

Zhang Li-hua, Dong Ping, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

This paper proposes a scheme for entanglement concentration of unknown triparticle W class states with a certain probability. This protocol is mainly based on the coincidences of single-photon detectors and requires single-photon detectors and linear optical elements. The scheme is feasible within current technology.

Concentrating partial entanglement of two photons via entanglement swapping

Myung-Joong Hwang, Yoon-Ho Kim

We report an entanglement concentration scheme in which a photon pair in the |Psi(-)> Bell-state is obtained from two pairs of partially (or non-maximally) . Our scheme is built upon linear optics only and does not require photon-number resolving detectors.
