Multipartite entangled coherent states

Abstract

We propose a scheme for generating multipartite entangled coherent states via entanglement swapping, with an example of a physical realization in ion traps. Bipartite entanglement of these multipartite states is quantified by the concurrence. We also compute multipartite entanglement for certain systems. Finally we establish that these results for entanglement can be applied to more general multipartite entangled nonorthogonal states.

Preparation of entangled squeezed states and quantification of their entanglement

Cai Xinhua, Kuang Le-Man

We propose a scheme for generating bipartite and multipartite entangled squeezed states via the Jaynes-Cummings model with large detuning. Bipartite entanglement of these entangled states is quantified by the concurrence. We also use the N -tangle to compute multipartite entanglement of these multipartite entangled squeezed states. Finally we discuss two limiting cases which arise from r →∞ and r →0, in which the multipartite entangled squeezed state reduces correspondingly into an N -qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state and an N -qubit W state.

Constructing genuinely entangled multipartite states with applications to local hidden variables and local hidden states models

Remigiusz Augusiak, Maciej Demianowicz, Jordi Tura

Building upon the results of R. Augusiak et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 115, 030404 (2015)] we develop a general approach to the generation of genuinely entangled multipartite states of any number of parties from genuinely entangled states of a fixed number of parties, in particular, the bipartite entangled ones. In our approach, certain isometries whose output subspaces are either symmetric or genuinely entangled in some multipartite Hilbert spaces are applied to local subsystems of bipartite entangled or multipartite genuinely entangled quantum states. To prove that entanglement of the resulting states is indeed genuine we then introduce criteria allowing us to decide it efficiently. The construction is then exploited to provide examples of multipartite states that are genuinely entangled but not genuinely nonlocal, giving further illustration for the inequivalence between entanglement and nonlocality in the multiparticle scenario. It is also shown how to construct genuinely entangled states which are unsteerable across certain bipartite cuts.

BIPARTITE ENTANGLEMENT OF MULTIPARTITE COHERENT STATES USING QUANTUM NETWORK OF BEAM SPLITTERS

Mohammed Daoud A, El Bouâzzaoui Choubabi

We investigate the generation of multipartite entangled SU (k+1) coherent states using a quantum network involving a sequence of k beam splitters. We particularly investigate the entanglement in multipartite SU(2) coherent states (k = 1). We employ the concurrence as measure of the degree of bipartite entanglement.

Multipartite Entanglement for Multi-node Quantum Networks

E. M. Ainley, A. Agrawal, D. Main +5 more

Scaling the number of entangled nodes in a quantum network is a challenge with significant implications for quantum computing, clock synchronisation, secure communications, and quantum sensing. In a quantum network, photons interact with matter qubits at different nodes, flexibly enabling the creation of remote entanglement between them. Multipartite entanglement among multiple nodes will be crucial for many proposed quantum network applications, including quantum computational tasks and quantum metrology. To date, experimental efforts have primarily focused on generating bipartite entanglement between nodes, which is widely regarded as the fundamental quantum resource for quantum networks. However, relying exclusively on bipartite entanglement to form more complex multipartite entanglement introduces several challenges. These include the need for ancillary qubits, extensive local entangling operations which increases the preparation latency, and increasingly stringent requirements on coherence times as the number of nodes grows. Here, we analyse various schemes that achieve multipartite entanglement between nodes in a single step, bypassing the need for multiple rounds of bipartite entanglement. We demonstrate that different schemes can produce distinct multipartite entangled states, with varying fidelity and generation rates. Additionally, we discuss the applicability of these schemes across different experimental platforms, highlighting their primary advantages and disadvantages.

Genuine multipartite entanglement detection and lower bound of multipartite concurrence

Ming Li, Shao-Ming Fei, Xianqing Li‐Jost +1 more

The problems of genuine multipartite entanglement detection and classification are challenging. We show that a multipartite quantum state is genuine multipartite entangled if the multipartite concurrence is larger than certain quantities given by the number and the dimension of the subsystems. This result also provides a classification of various genuine multipartite entanglements. We present a lower bound of the multipartite concurrence in terms of bipartite concurrences. While various operational approaches are available for providing lower bounds of bipartite concurrences, our results give an effective operational way to detect and classify genuine multipartite entanglement. As applications, genuine multipartite entanglement of tripartite systems is analyzed in detail.
