Abstract

We study su(2) and su(1,1) displaced number states. These states are eigenstates of density-dependent interaction systems of quantized radiation field with classical current. These states are intermediate states interpolating between number and displaced number states. Their photon number distribution, statistical and squeezing properties are studied in detail. It shows that these states exhibit strong nonclassical properties.

SU(1,1)-displaced coherent states, photon counting, and squeezing

Jean‐Pierre Gazeau, M. A. del Olmo

We revisit the Perelomov SU(1,1)-displaced coherent states as possible quantum states of light. We disclose interesting statistical aspects of these states in relation to photon counting and squeezing. In the non-displaced case, we discuss the efficiency of the photodetector as inversely proportional to the parameterϰof the discrete series of unitary irreducible representations of SU(1,1). In the displaced case, we study the counting and squeezing properties of the states in terms ofϰand the number of photons in the original displaced state. We finally examine the quantization of a classical radiation field based on these families of coherent states. The procedure yields displacement operators that might allow to prepare such states in the way proposed by Glauber for standard coherent states.

ON THE GENERATION OF INTERMEDIATE NUMBER SQUEEZED STATE OF THE QUANTIZED RADIATION FIELD

B. Baseia, Andreísa Fabri Lima, Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato

Recently, a new state of the quantized radiation field — the intermediate number squeezed state (INSS) — has been introduced in the literature: it interpolates between the number state |n> and the squeezed state |z, α>=Ŝ(z)|α>, and exhibits interesting nonclassical properties as antibunching, sub-Poissonian statistics and squeezing. Here we introduce a slight modification in the previous definition allowing us a proposal to generate the INSS. Nonclassical properties using a new set of parameters are also studied.

Statistical properties of the squeezed displaced number states

CELIA M. A. DANTAS, N. G. de Almeida, B. Baseia

Squeezed Displaced Number States of the light were introduced in the recent literature. They exhibit various nonclassical properties as sub-Poissonian statistics, squeezing and oscillations in the photon-numer distribution. Here we investigate other properties of these fields, as waiting-time and photoelectron-counting distributions. We considerably simplify previous calculations in the literature while showing that these states constitute a unified approach for number, coherent, and squeezed states.

Nonlinear Displaced Number States and Their Non-classical Properties

N. Asili Firouzabadi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, we intend to introduce a particular class of radiation field which is called nonlinear displaced number states. Then we will investigate a few of their non-classical properties, like sub-Poissonian statistics, quadratuer squeezing, amplitude-squared squeezing, Husimi and Wigner quasi-distribution functions.

NONCLASSICAL PROPERTIES OF TWO-MODE DISPLACED FOCK STATE

Ngoc Duy Tinh Phan, Thi Hong Thanh Le, Truong Minh Duc

In this paper, we investigate a variety of nonclassical properties of a two-mode displaced Fock state (TMDFS). Nonclassical properties such as sum squeezing, difference squeezing, antibunching effect, and the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality will be discussed analytically for the TMDFS. The results show that by changing the Fock state parameters between modes and the displacement parameter, the TMDFS exhibits enhanced nonclassical behaviors and makes a valuable contribution to quantum optics.

On a new intermediate state of the quantized radiation field

Andreísa Fabri Lima, B. Baseia, Gil C. Marques

In a recent paper we introduced the intermediate number-phase state (INPS) of the quantized radiation field, which interpolates between the number state |n> and the phase state |θ >. Various non-classical properties of the light field in this state (sub-Poissonian statistics, antibunching and squeezing effects) were investigated. Here, looking for a criterion characterizing the INPS as a “good” interpolating state, we investigate the influence of the interpolating parameters upon the variances and uncertainty relation involving the number and phase operators in this state.
