Abstract

A recent theoretical paper by Shi et al. [Phys. Rev. A 61, 064102 (2000)] proposes a scheme for entanglement swapping utilizing acousto-optic modulators without requiring a Bell-state measurement. In this Comment, we show that the proposal is flawed and no entanglement swapping can occur without measurement.

Reply to the comment on `` Manipulating the frequency-entangled states by an acoustic-optical modulator''

B. S Shi, Yun-Kun Jiang, Guo, G. -C

In the paper [1], authors claim that the scheme for entanglement swapping using an acoustic-optical modulator [2] is flaw. In this reply, we show there is a trivial mistake in the scheme [2], but the main conclusion is still correct, that is, the acoustic-optical modulator can be used to manipulate the frequency-entangled state.

Comment on “Scheme for teleportation of an unknown atomic state without the Bell-state measurement”

Ravindra W. Chhajlany, Antoni Wójcik

Recently, Ye and Guo [Phys. Rev. A 70, 054303 (2004)] have presented a scheme for implementing quantum teleportation of atomic states in cavity QED. In this Comment, we show that contrary to the authors' claim, the scheme is based on Bell-state measurement.

Comment on "A Random Quantum Key Distribution Achieved by Using Bell States"

Sujuan Qin, Qiaoyan Wen, Fu-Chen Zhu

In a recent paper [J. Opt. B: Quantum Semiclass. Opt. 5 (2003) 155-157], a quantum key distribution scheme based on entanglement swapping was proposed, which exhibited two improvements over the previous protocols. In this Comment, it is shown that the scheme has no properties as been discussed.

Teleporting a Frequency-entangled State via Acoustic-Optic Modulator

Xiang Shao

A scheme was presented for teleporting a frequencyentangled state with the successful probability 25 % based on the principle of the acousticoptic modulator(AOM).One advantage of the scheme is that no Bellstate measurement is need and no any unitary transformation is performed. Ke words:quantum teleportation; frequency entanglement; acousticoptic modulator(AOM)

In a recent interesting article Chris Nagele, Ebubechukwu O. IloOkeke, Peter P. Rohde, Jonathan P. Dowling, and Tim Byrnes discuss an entanglement swapping experiment using a setup where it is possible to switch the time ordering of measurements. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the very same idea was introduced in two previous papers, and briefly address some important points related to the subject.
