Baxters's Q-operators for the simplest q-deformed model

Abstract

In the present paper we describe the procedure of the Q-operators construction for the q-deformed model, described by the Lax operator, which is important to formulate the Bethe ansatz for the Sin-Gordon model. This Lax operator can also be considered as some massless limit of the Lax operator of SG model. We constructed two R-operators which are the universal intertwiners for the Lax operators. The traces of its monodromies over the auxiliary space are Baxter operators i.e. the operator solutions of T-Q equation. We also found the intertwining relations which imply the mutual commutativity of the corresponding Q-operators.

Baxter Q-operators for integrable DST chain

A. E. Kovalsky, G. P. Pronko

Following the procedure, described in the paper nlin.SI/0003002, for the integrable DST chain we construct Baxter Q-operators as the traces of monodromy of some M-operators, that act in quantum and auxiliary spaces. Within this procedure we obtain two basic M-operators and derive some functional relations between them such as intertwining relations and wronskian-type relations between two basic Q-operators.

A shortcut to theQ-operator

Vladimir V. Bazhanov, Tomasz Łukowski, Carlo Meneghelli A +1 more

Baxter's Q -operator is generally believed to be the most powerful tool for the exact diagonalization of integrable models. Curiously, it has hitherto not yet been properly constructed in the simplest such system, the compact spin- Heisenberg–Bethe XXX spin chain. Here we attempt to fill this gap and show how two linearly independent operatorial solutions to Baxter's TQ equation may be constructed as commuting transfer matrices if a twist field is present. The latter are obtained by tracing over infinitely many oscillator states living in the auxiliary channel of an associated monodromy matrix. We furthermore compare our approach to and differentiate it from earlier articles addressing the problem of the construction of the Q -operator for the XXX chain. Finally we speculate on the importance of Q -operators for the physical interpretation of recent proposals for the Y -system of AdS/CFT.

A q-difference Baxter operator for the Ablowitz–Ladik chain

Federico Zullo

We construct the Baxter operator and the corresponding Baxter equation for a quantum version of the Ablowitz–Ladik model. The result is achieved in two different ways: by using the well-known Bethe ansatz technique and by looking at the quantum analogue of the classical Bäcklund transformations. General results about integrable models governed by the same r -matrix algebra will be given. Baxter's equation comes out to be a q-difference equation involving both the trace and the quantum determinant of the monodromy matrix. The spectrality property of the classical Bäcklund transformations gives a trace formula representing the classical analogue of Baxter's equation. A q-integral representation of the Baxter operator is discussed.

THE YANG–BAXTER SYMMETRY IN FIELD THEORY

Hector J. de Vega

This is a review on infinite non-abelian symmetries in two-dimensional field theories. We show how any integrable QFT enjoys the existence of infinitely many {\bf conserved} charges. These charges {\bf do not commute} between them and satisfy a Yang--Baxter algebra. They are generated by quantum monodromy operators and provide a representation of $q-$deformed affine Lie algebras $U_q({\hat\G})$. We review the work by de Vega, Eichenherr and Maillet on the bootstrap construction of the quantum monodromy operators in classically scale invariant theories where the classical monodromy matrix is conserved. Then, the recent generalization to the sine--Gordon (or massive Thirring) model, where such operators do not possess a classical analogue is given (This provides a representation of $S{\hat U}(2)_q$). It is then reported on the recent work by Destri and de Vega, where both commuting and non-commuting integrals of motion are systematically obtained by Bethe Ansatz in the light-cone approach. The eigenvalues of the six--vertex alternating transfer matrix $τ(ł)$ are explicitly computed on a generic physical state through algebraic Bethe ansatz. In the thermodynamic limit $τ(ł)$ turns out to be a two--valued periodic function. One determination generates the local abelian charges, including energy and momentum, while the other yields the abelian subalgebra of the (non--local) YB algebra. In particular, the bootstrap results coincide with the ratio between the two determinations of the lattice transfer matrix.[Based on a Lecture at the Clausthal Symposium].

Algebraic aspect and construction of Lax operators in quantum integrable systems

B Basu-mallick, Anjan Kundu

An algebraic construction more general and intimately connected with that of Faddeev1, along with its application for generating different classes of quantum integrable models are summarised to complement the recent results of ref. 1 ( L.D. Faddeev, Int. J. Mod. Phys. A10, 1845 (1995)). 1 A significant portion of an excellent recent review by Faddeev 1 is devoted to an important result showing deep relation between the Yang–Baxter equation and the quantum group. We are delighted to note that a scheme for systematic construction of the Lax operators through Yang–Baxterisation of the Faddeev–Reshetikhin–Takhtajan (FRT) algebra persued by us over the last few years 2,3 has an intimate connection with this approach. In fact our formulation gives a more general framework allowing construction of a wide range of Lax operators of lattice models and recovers the corresponding result of ref 1 related to Uqsl(2) as a particular case. Another convincing demonstration of the usefulness of our approach is that, the well known Lax operator of the lattice Liouville model 4 as well as the recently discovered 5 nontrivial spectral parameter dependent variant of it can be constructed directly and easily from our general form,

Combinatorics of Lax Objects in Bethe Ansatz

Ryszard Stagraczyński

Algebraic Bethe Ansatz, also known as quantum inverse scattering method, is a consistent tool based on the YangBaxter equation which allows to construct Bethe Ansatz exact solutions. One of the most important objects in algebraic Bethe Ansatz is a monodromy matrix M , which is dened as an appropriate product of so-called Lax operators L (local transition operators).Monodromy matrix as well as each of Lax operators acts in the tensor product of the quantum space H with an auxiliary space C 2 .Thus M , when written in the standard basis of auxiliary space, consists of four elements A, B, C, D, which are the operators acting in quantum space H, where B and C are step operators and the remaining generate all constants of motion. In this work a consistent method of construction of the Bethe Ansatz eigenstates in terms of objects a, b, c, d i.e. matrix elements of the Lax operators in the auxiliary space is proposed.
