INTEGRABLE PERTURBATIONS OF CFT WITH COMPLEX PARAMETER: THE M3/5 MODEL AND ITS GENERALIZATIONS

Abstract

By using the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz approach, we give evidence of the existence of both massive and massless behaviors for the ϕ2,1 perturbation of the M3,5 nonunitary minimal model, thus resolving apparent contradictions in the previous literature. The two behaviors correspond to changing the perturbing bare coupling constant from real values to imaginary ones. Generalizations of this picture to the whole class of nonunitary minimal models Mp,2p±1, perturbed by their least relevant operator, lead to a cascade of flows similar to that of unitary minimal models perturbed by ϕ1,3. Various aspects and generalizations of this phenomenon and the links with the Izergin–Korepin model are discussed.

ULTRAVIOLET BEHAVIOR OF THE INTEGRABLE OFF-CRITICAL NON-UNITARY SERIES M3/q

Philippe Christe, Marcio Jose Martins

We discuss the ultraviolet behavior of the non-unitary M3/q (q = 5, 7) minimal models perturbed by the operator ϕ13. The Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz is used to compute the central charge and the next higher order corrections in the high temperature expansion of the finite volume ground state energy. The results are in perfect agreement with perturbative calculations. Generalizations of these results are commented on.

The diluteALmodels and the integrable perturbations of unitary minimal CFTs

J Suzuki

Recently, a set of thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations has been proposed by Dorey, Pocklington and Tateo for unitary minimal models perturbed by the ϕ 1,2 or ϕ 2,1 operator. We examine their results in view of the lattice analogues, dilute A L models in regimes 1 and 2. Taking M 5,6 + ϕ 1,2 and M 3,4 + ϕ 2,1 as the simplest examples, we will explicitly show that the conjectured TBA equations can be recovered from the lattice model in a scaling limit.

New RG flows between non-Unitary CFTs from exact massless scattering theories

Changrim Ahn, Zoltán Bajnok, Soma Elek

We construct complete solutions of the massless S-matrix bootstrap equations describing a new infinite family of integrable RG flows from the higher-fusion-level minimal models M(3,2n+3;n) to the non-unitary Virasoro minimal models M(2,2n+3), including a flow from M(3,5) to the Yang--Lee CFT M(2,5) when n=1. We provide strong evidence for this identification by matching conformal perturbation theory around the UV fixed points with the small-volume expansion of the corresponding thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations. We further show that a family of non-invertible Verlinde defect lines is preserved along the flows.

The diluteALmodels and the Φ1,2perturbation of unitary minimal CFTs

J Suzuki

Motivated by recent studies by Dorey, Pocklington and Tateo for unitary minimal models perturbed by ϕ 1,2 , we examine the thermodynamics of one-dimensional quantum systems, whose counterparts in the two-dimensional classical model are the dilute A L models in regime 2. The functional relations for arbitrary values of L are established. Guided by numerical evidence, we obtain a set of coupled integral equations from the established relations, which yields the evaluation of the free energy at arbitrary temperature. In the scaling limit, the integral equations coincide with the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations (TBA) proposed by Dorey, Pocklington and Tateo, thereby supporting their results. The new fermionic representations of the Virasoro characters are remarked upon briefly.

Complex excitations in the thermodynamic Bethe-anzatz approach

Marcio Jose Martins

We relate the complex solutions of the thermodynamic Bethe-ansatz equations to the excited states in factorizable massive models. This approach permits one to recover exactly the ultraviolet behavior of these excitations. In order to illustrate our method we consider several unitary and nonunitary integrable models. We also comment on the calculation of critical exponents in massless integrable models.

Thermodynamics of T T ¯ perturbations of some single particle field theories

André LeClair

Abstract We study the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations for pure T T ¯ perturbations of some simple integrable quantum field theories with a single bosonic or fermionic particle, in particular the massive sinh-Gordon model and its ultraviolet (UV) limit which is a deformation of the conformally invariant free massless boson. Whereas the TBA equations for T T ¯ deformations of massive theories are in principle known, the TBA equations we propose for the deformations of conformal field theories are relatively new and require a special factorization in rapidity variables of the CDD factor for the scattering of the massless particles. The latter TBA equations can be solved exactly and reproduce the known results for the ground state energy on a cylinder of circumference R which were previously obtained using different methods based for instance on the Burgers differential equation. Special attention is paid to the c -theorem in this context which is discussed in some detail. For positive infra-red central charge c IR , for flows consistent with the c -theorem the ground state energy develops a (previously known) square-root singularity toward the UV, which strongly suggests the theories are UV incomplete in these physically important cases. We suggest that the singularity indicates a tachyonic vacuum instability. Other cases with c IR < 0 do not have this singularity are interpreted as being UV complete with c UV = 0. We extend our results to a continuously variable c IR by introducing a chemical potential and suggest this as a possible toy model for the T T ¯ perturbed Liouville theory.
