Abstract

The Hamiltonian for an extended Hubbard model with phonons as introduced by A. Montorsi and M. Rasetti is considered on a D-dimensional lattice. The symmetries of the model are studied in various cases. It is shown that for a certain choice of the paramet

On quantum groups in the Hubbard model with phonons

Bianca Letizia Cerchiai, Peter Schupp

The correct Hamiltonian for an extended Hubbard model with quantum group symmetry as introduced by Montorsi and Rasetti is derived for a D-dimensional lattice. It is shown that the superconducting holds as a true quantum symmetry only for D = 1 and that terms of higher order in the fermionic operators are needed in addition to phonons. A discussion of quantum symmetries in general is given in a formalism that should be readily accessible to non-Hopf algebraists.

Metal-insulator transition in a generalized Hubbard model

Kristel F. L. Michielsen, Hans A. De Raedt, T. Schneider

An extension of the Hubbard model, introduced by Montorsi and Rasetti, is studied using exact diagonalization and quantum Monte Carlo methods. Our numerical results for the static and dynamic properties of one- and two-dimensional systems strongly suggest the occurrence of a metal-insulator transition.

Numerical study of a projected Hubbard model

Kristel F. L. Michielsen, Hans A. De Raedt

The extension of a generalized Hubbard model, recently introduced by A. Montorsi and M. Rasetti, is studied by means of numerical diagonalization, Quantum Monte Carlo and variational methods. Exact results for lattices up to 4 x 4 are presented. Quantum Monte Carlo simulations reproduce our exact numerical results. We use these data to assess the accuracy of variational (including generalized BCS like) methods.

The su(n) Hubbard model

Z. Maassarani

The one-dimensional Hubbard model is known to possess an extended su(2) symmetry and to be integrable. I indroduce an integrable model with an extended su(n) symmetry. This model contains the usual su(2) Hubbard model and has a set of features that make it the su(n) generalization of the Hubbard model. Complete integrability is shown by introducing the L-matrix and showing that the transfer matrix commutes with the hamiltonian. While the model is integrable in one dimension, it provides a generalization of the Hubbard hamiltonian in any dimension.

Properties of extended Hubbard models with anisotropic spin-exchange interaction

W.R. Czart, S. Robaszkiewicz

The phase diagrams and electron orderings of the half-filled extended Hubbard models with anisotropic spin-exchange interactions (J⊥, J||) are studied. The cases of ferromagnetic (Jα 0) exchange couplings are considered for repulsive on-site interaction (U ≥ 0). The analysis of these t–U–J||–J⊥ models is performed for d-dimensional hypercubic lattices including d = 1 and d = ∞ by means of the (broken symmetry) HFA supplemented, for d = ∞, by the slave-boson mean-field method. The basic features of the derived phase diagrams are discussed.

Complete solution of the one-dimensional Hubbard model

Fabian H. L. Eßler, V. E. Korepin, Kareljan Schoutens

We show how to construct a complete set of eigenstates of the Hamiltonian of the one-dimensional Hubbard model on a finite lattice of even length L. This is done by using the nested Bethe ansatz and the SO(4) symmetry of the model.
