Determinant solution for the totally asymmetric exclusion process with parallel update

Abstract

We consider the totally asymmetric exclusion process in discrete time with the parallel update. Constructing an appropriate transformation of the evolution operator, we reduce the problem to that solvable by the Bethe ansatz. The nonstationary solution of the master equation for the infinite 1D lattice is obtained in a determinant form. Using a modified combinatorial treatment of the Bethe ansatz, we give an alternative derivation of the resulting determinant expression.

Determinant solution for the totally asymmetric exclusion process with parallel update: II. Ring geometry

Alexander M. Povolotsky, V. B. Priezzhev

Using the Bethe ansatz we obtain the determinant expression for the time dependent transition probabilities in the totally asymmetric exclusion process with parallel update on a ring. Developing a method of summation over the roots of Bethe equations based on the multidimensional analogue of the Cauchy residue theorem, we construct the resolution of the identity operator, which allows us to calculate the matrix elements of the evolution operator and its powers. Representation of results in the form of an infinite series elucidates connection to other results obtained for the ring geometry. As a by-product we also obtain the generating function of the joint probability distribution of particle configurations and the total distance traveled by the particles.

The totally asymmetric exclusion process with generalized update

A E Derbyshev, S S Poghosyan, Alexander M. Povolotsky +1 more

We consider the totally asymmetric exclusion process in discrete time with generalized updating rules. We introduce a control parameter into the interaction between particles. Two particular values of the parameter correspond to known parallel and sequential updates. In the whole range of its values the interaction varies from repulsive to attractive. In the latter case the particle flow demonstrates an apparent jamming tendency not typical for the known updates. We solve the master equation for N particles on the infinite lattice by the Bethe ansatz. The non-stationary solution for arbitrary initial conditions is obtained in a closed determinant form.

Determinant solution for the TASEP with particle-dependent hopping probabilities on a ring

Vahagn Poghosyan, V. B. Priezzhev

We consider the totally asymmetric exclusion process on a ring in discrete time with the backward-ordered sequential update and particle-dependent hopping probabilities. Using a combinatorial treatment of the Bethe ansatz, we derive the determinant expression for the non-stationary probability of transitions between particle configurations. In the continuous-time limit, we find a generalization of the recent result, obtained by A. Rákos and G.M. Schütz for infinite lattice, to the case of ring geometry.

Exact Nonstationary Probabilities in the Asymmetric Exclusion Process on a Ring

The complete solution of the master equation for a system of interacting particles of finite density is presented. By using a new form of the Bethe ansatz, the totally asymmetric exclusion process on a ring is solved for arbitrary initial conditions and time intervals.

Asymmetric one-dimensional exclusion processes: a two-parameter discrete-time exactly solvable model

Farinaz Roshani, Mohammad Khorrami

A two-parameter family of discrete-time asymmetric exclusion processes on a one-dimensional lattice is considered. Among these processes are the asymmetric simple exclusion model and the drop–push model. Using the Bethe ansatz, the exact solution to the master equation and from that the drift rates of the two-particle sector are obtained.

Spectrum of the Open Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process with Arbitrary Boundary Parameters

Fa-Kai Wen, Zhan-Ying Yang, Shuai Cui +2 more

We study the one-dimensional asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) with generic open boundaries (including current-counting deformation), and obtain the exact solutions of this ASEP via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. In particular, numerical results for the small size asymmetric simple exclusion process indicate that the spectrum obtained by the Bethe ansatz equations is complete. Moreover, we present the eigenvalue of the totally asymmetric exclusion process and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations.
