Squeezing of the Radiation Field in the Interaction of a Cascade Three-level Atoms and Strong Coherent Field of Initial State

Ying Chen

The squeeing properties of the radiation field in the interaction of a cascade three level atoms and strong coherent field of initial state are studied by numerical calculation . The results show that the radiation field is mainly in non squeezed states, and the short time squeeing effects of the radiation field only appear in the initial time and in several initial trough;with the increasing of the value of ,the maximum of squeezing of radiation field changes periodically.

Squeezed states and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with plasma

Y. Ben-Aryeh, A. Mann

A theory is developed for the interaction of coherent electromagnetic (EM) radiation with a free electron gas and for the influence of the plasma on the photon statistics of the radiation field. Two important possibilities for generating squeezed states are shown: Squeezed states can be generated by the interaction of a one-mode laser with a plasma in a cavity; squeezed states can be generated by transmitting coherent radiation through the plasma. The maximal squeezing of the radiation obtained in the latter case is equal to the reciprocal of the dielectric constant of the plasma. Inside the plasma the EM field is represented by quasiphotons. Their dispersion relations are derived by using Bogoliubov transformations together with a self-consistency requirement for the motion of the electrons interacting with these quasiphotons. The squeezing processes are found to be strong when the frequency of the radiation is a little above the plasma frequency. By adding a constant magnetic field in the direction of propagation of the EM wave different amounts of squeezing are obtained for right- and left-circularly polarized EM waves.

Radiation squeezing effect in the system of the squeezed vacuum field interacting with a moving two-level atom

Wang Xian-cai

The radiation squeezing effect in the interaction process between the single mode squeezed vacuum field and a moving two-level atom is studied by means of solving the Schrdinger equation and numerical calculations. The results are as follows: with the increasing of the atom's speed and the parameter of field model structure, the time evolution curve rises noticeably;with the rising of the probability breadth of the atom ground state, the squeezing depth of the radiation field increases, otherwise it decreases, even there is no squeeze;the phase angle effects the time evolution curve's change like the probability breadth of the atom ground state;during the process that the compression factor becomes larger, the radiation field can not squeeze firstly, then it squeezes partially, finally the squeeze gradually disappears.
