Squeezing properties of the radiation field in the interaction of squeezed vacuum with two two-level atoms through two-photon transition

Song Tong-Qiang, Feng Jian, Wenzheng Wang +1 more

We study the squeezing and the amplitude-squared squeezing of radiation field in the interaction of squeezed vacuum state with two two-level atoms, and discuss the effects of the relative value of two atom-field coupling constants on them. The numerical results show that the presence of one additional atom introduces nontrivival cooperative effects into the squeezing and the amplitude-squared squeezing of radiation field.

The Amplitude Nth-Power Squeezing of Radiation Fields in the Degenerate Raman Process

Zhi‐Ming Zhang, Jin-Fang Pan, Lei Xu

In this paper we study the amplitude Nth-power squeezing of radiation fields in the degenerate Raman process by using the modified effective Hamiltonian approach recently suggested by us. We found that if the field is initially in a coherent state it will not get squeezing for any Nth-power; if the field is initially in a squeezed vacuum, it may get Nth-power squeezing. The time evolution of the field fluctuation was discussed. Its dependences on power-order N, mean photon number bar-n, and squeezing angle xi are analyzed.

Highly Amplitude-Squeezed States of the Radiation Field

Kasivishwanathan Sundar

We propose here a quantum state obtained by evolving a quadrature-squeezed state through a Kerr medium. We give a Mach-Zhender interferometer configuration to generate and displace this state to an appropriate position in phase space. The displaced state is highly amplitude squeezed when the direction of squeezing of the initial quadrature squeezed state is along the direction of coherent excitation. We show that the photon number uncertainty $〈(\ensuremath{\Delta}\stackrel{^}{n}{)}^{2}〉<〈\stackrel{^}{n}{〉}^{1/5}$, which is far below the previously achieved limits in similar schemes.
