Effect of Virtual Photon Exchange on the Interaction of Light Field with N Atoms

Abstract

Under no rotating wave approximation and including the effect of dipole-dipole interaction between the atoms, exact squeezing properties for the output optical field and the atomic field are obtained. It is shown that an atom laser keeping squeezed all the time can be generated, though the input optical field is at the coherent state or vacuum state.

Influence of the virtual photon field on the squeezing properties of an atom laser

Zhao Jian-Gang, Sun Chang-yong, Wen Ling-Hua +1 more

This paper investigates the squeezing properties of an atom laser without rotating-wave approximation in the system of a binomial states field interacting with a two-level atomic Bose–Einstein condensate. It discusses the influences of atomic eigenfrequency, the interaction intensity between the optical field and atoms, parameter of the binomial states field and virtual photon field on the squeezing properties. The results show that two quadrature components of an atom laser can be squeezed periodically. The duration and the degree of squeezing an atom laser have something to do with the atomic eigenfrequency and the parameter of the binomial states field, respectively. The collapse and revival frequency of atom laser fluctuation depends on the interaction intensity between the optical field and atoms. The effect of the virtual photon field deepens the depth of squeezing an atom laser.

Influence of the virtual photon field on the squeezing properties of atom laser

Zhao Jian-Gang, Sun Chang-Yong, Meng Xiang-Guo +2 more

The squeezing properties of atom laser are investigated with and without rotating-wave approximation by means of quantum theory in the system of optical field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate of two-level atoms. The influences of the atomic eigenfrequency, the interaction intensity between optical field and atoms, the initial squeezing factor of optical field and the virtual photon field on the squeezing properties are discussed. The results show that two quadrature components of atom laser can be squeezed periodically. The quantum Rabi frequency and the collapse and revival frequency of atom laser fluctuation depend on the atomic eigenfrequency and the interaction intensity between optical field and atoms respectively. When the initial squeezing factor of optical field increases and the virtual photon field is considered, the degree of squeezing of the atom laser also increases.

Squeezing effects of an atom laser: Beyond the linear model

Hui Jing, Jing-Ling Chen, Mo‐Lin Ge

We investigate the quantum dynamics and statistics of an atom laser by taking into account binary atom-atom collisions. The rotating wave approximation Hamiltonian of the system is solved analytically. We show that the nonlinear atom-atom interactions could yield periodic quadrature squeezing effects in the atom laser output beam, although the input radio frequency field is in a Glauber coherent state.

Influence of the virtual photon field on the squeezing properties of light field in the system of binomial state field interacting with atomic Bose-Einstein condensate

Zhao Jian-Gang, Sun Chang-Yong, Liang Bao-Long +2 more

The squeezing properties of binomial state field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate of two-level atoms are investigated within and without rotating-wave approximation by means of quantum theory. The influences of atomic eigenfrequency, the coupling constant between light field and atoms, the parameter of light field and the virtual photon field on squeezing properties have been discussed. The results show that two quadrature components can be squeezed periodically, and the duration of squeezing light has something to do with atomic eigenfrequency ω, and the degree of squeezing with the parameter of the binomial states field η and the virtual photon field. The frequency of light fluctuations collapse and revival is determined by the coupling constant between light field and atoms.

On field and atomic squeezing in a quantum optical model

Rui‐Hua Xie, Dun-Hua Liu, Gong-Ou Xui

The squeezing properties of an atom and a radiation field have been investigated in a quantum optical model when it is restricted to the following initial condition: the atom is in the SU(2) coherent state and the field in a vacuum state. The relation between the field and atomic squeezing is discussed and the effect of the virtual-photon field on the atomic squeezing numerically examined.
