Enhancing Healthcare Data Security Using Quantum Homomorphic Encryption

Sivaranjani Reddi, Jami Venkata Suman

This chapter presents a novel approach to securing sensitive healthcare data using quantum homomorphic encryption (QHE) integrated with the RSA encryption scheme. In an era where privacy-preserving data analysis is critical, particularly in healthcare, this method demonstrates how encrypted medical datasets, specifically the Diabetes dataset, can undergo computations such as homomorphic addition without compromising confidentiality. The chapter simulates encryption, quantum circuit-based homomorphic operations, and decryption using classical and quantum paradigms. It compares computational accuracy and efficiency between quantum and classical homomorphic models, establishing the feasibility of QHE for real-world medical applications. Performance is evaluated across multiple input sizes, demonstrating secure computation scalability. The results show that QHE offers promising capabilities for privacy-preserving analytics in healthcare and other sensitive domains, bridging quantum and classical cryptographic methods to support secure, efficient, and scalable data processing.

Flexible Threshold Private Set Intersection Based on Quantum Homomorphic Encryption

Tianyin WANG, Shuang Li, Shuaijia Song +3 more

Threshold private set intersection is a basic primitive of secure multiparty computation, which has many important applications in the field of privacy preservation and information security, especially in a ride sharing system, one of the most transforming and innovative technologies enabled by the Internet of Things. In this paper, we propose a new proposal for threshold private set intersection based on quantum homomorphic encryption, in which both the number of users and the designated trusted party are flexible. Furthermore, the complicated computing task can be delegated to a server for processing contributing to the speciality of quantum homomorphic encryption. More importantly, the users’ privacy is perfectly guaranteed because all the calculations are performed on the quantum encrypted data. Therefore, this proposal is more practical compared with the prior work.

Homomorphic Encryption in Quantum Computing

Surojit Mondal, Bikash Debnath, Jadav Chandra Das +1 more

Homomorphic encryption (HE) is a groundbreaking cryptographic method that allows calculations on encrypted data without the need for decryption, thus safeguarding privacy and security. This article investigates how to implement homomorphic encryption with QISKIT, a free-to-use quantum computing framework. The research investigates the theoretical underpinnings of HE, its use in quantum computing, and its importance for privacy-preserving calculations. Moreover, the study covers adder circuits based on quantum logic gates, their realization with QISKIT, and the prospects for improving computational security in cloud environments. The results stress the practical viability of HE in quantum environments, underscoring its possible uses in secure data processing and privacy-enhancing technologies.
