PHI^-5 Turns Hardy's paradox into Holonony

Abstract

Hardy’s paradox reaches its quantum maximum at Φ−5 = (5√ 5 − 11)/2. We show that this number is a holonomy. The identity Φ−5 + 5Ψ2 = 2 is Archimedes’ hat-box split of the diameter of the Bloch sphere into a cap and its complement. The loop e iχPH of the paradox projector has Aharonov–Anandan phase −2πΦ −5 , and both halves of the quantum geometric tensor read the same number. A full spinor turn of one qubit of the Hardy-optimal state about a Hardy axis has geometric phase minus the golden angle, and five such turns followed by the paradox loop close to −4π, a complete spinor return. The paradox itself is a Bargmann triangle of phase π and modulus Φ−5 , a one-sided loop in a real projective plane whose π is the first Stiefel–Whitney class. On every rung of Hardy’s ladder the triangle keeps the phase π and its single forced zero, while the weak value −1 moves from the complementary product vector at the first rung to the state at the second and then leaves the triangle. Two rungs act by the reduced state, so the ladder is the power method for it: the ladder probability is one line in the determinant of the reduced state and one overlap, the best ladder of a state depends only on its concurrence, the probability rises to the smaller Schmidt weight, and through the twelfth rung the golden and plastic optima are the only units among the ladder optima. In E8 the same carrier is structural. The golden fold M = −(c 6 + c −6 ) built from the Coxeter element contracts the cut-and-project window by Ψ5 = −Φ −5 in five steps; its mapping torus has 114 closed five-lap orbits and torsion (Z/11)4 ; and the torsion of every lap is the Bowen–Franks group of the golden power, given in closed form by Lucas and Fibonacci numbers. Every lap of the golden worldtube opens a prime of exact order equal to the lap, except the laps 1, 2, 6, 12, 20 and 24. At the Hardy step the branch module of the E8 tube is the reduction modulo the Hardy prime of the quaternion representation of the binary icosahedral group, and the two sheets of the double lap carry its two Galois conjugates. On the folding side, Riemann’s quotient, Hardy’s signed failure coordinate and the Feigenbaum family share the normal form 1 − µy2 , and Sierpinski simplex gaskets fold outside the full fold that contains Feigenbaum’s cascade. In the Albert algebra the adjoint identity (X#) # = N(X)X holds on all of J3(O), and eliminating the 24-dimensional Peirce fibre of the diagonal frame from a golden Jordan automorphism leaves a memory kernel of rank one with total weight −Φ −2/2. Fibonacci anyons, which sit in E8 at level one through (G2)1 × (F4)1, carry Φ−5 three ways: as the pure-braid readout 1 − Φ −5 , as the probability of a vacuum return in five steps, and as the square of the coherence Φ−5/2 that population readouts of the braid F RF miss, which is the modulus of Hardy’s paradox amplitude. Keywords: Hardy’s paradox; golden ratio; geometric phase; Aharonov–Anandan phase; Bargmann invariant; E8; Coxeter element; icosians; mapping torus; Bowen–Franks group; primitive divi- sors; Albert algebra; Mori–Zwanzig memory; Fibonacci anyons; spectral decimation; Feigenbaum universality. The Anyon Amplitude Is an Algebraic Integer: Exact, Cross-Validated, Kernel-Checked Topological Quantum Computation

The Institute for Applied Ontological Mathematics

A Fibonacci-anyon quantum computer evaluates the Jones polynomial of a knot at a fifth root of unity; the value is the amplitude of a braiding process. We show that this value is an algebraic integer—it lives in the cyclotomic ring Z[ζ5 ]—and that a classical machine can therefore compute it exactly, with no floating point and no Hilbert space, and a proof kernel can certify that it did. The braiding gates become 2 × 2 matrices over Z[ζ5 ] in which the golden ratio satisfies φ2 = φ + 1 as an arithmetic identity; the Kauffman loop value is φ on the nose. We build the amplitude two independent ways—an algebraic Temperley–Lieb trace and a topological state sum that counts loops in a closed braid diagram—and the two agree, bit for bit, on the unknot, the Hopf link, the trefoil, and the figure-eight (the first knot that is not a torus link). Writhe normalization turns the framed value into a genuine link invariant, and we prove its invariance: under Reidemeister I and Markov conjugation—in general, for every braid, by showing the matrix trace over Z[ζ5 ] is cyclic—and under Markov stabilization of either sign for every braid, since the union–find loop count is sign-independent and the spectator surgery closes σ and σ −1 alike (framing factors −A3 and −A−3 ). A diagrammatic runtime recovers the Temperley–Lieb relations not as axioms but as theorems that fall out of contracting wires and collapsing loops. We prove, in the kernel, that the loop count the topological engine returns is the number of connected components of the closed braid diagram—a verified union–find theory whose load-bearing fact is that one merge step drops the component count by exactly one—which reduces the last step of the general invariance theorem to a single component-count comparison. Against an independent floating-point recomputation the exact values agree to 1.3 × 10−15 , the residual being the float error, not ours. The naive state sum is exponential, but it need not be: a confluent reduction that carries the whole Temperley–Lieb element and merges equal diagrams computes the same amplitude in time polynomial in the crossings for braids of bounded strand width, and the kernel certifies it equals the exponential sum—for a torus link σ1k , a collapse from 2k to O(k). Every result is machine-checked in Cubical Agda. We do not claim a quantum speedup, and we do not overturn the #P-hardness of the general problem; what we show is that the classical amplitude is an exact object, that exactness can be certified, and that the certified computation is—in the bounded-width regime—exponentially faster than the simulation it replaces. The same construction carries the Ising anyon over the ring Z[ζ16 ]: the two theories are two evaluation points of one bracket polynomial, and the gap between the universal model and √ the classically-simulable one is, at the level of the ring, the gap between φ2 = φ + 1 and ( 2)2 = 2. Because equality in Z[ζ5 ] is decidable, the exact invariant decides topology a float cannot: we prove the trefoil is chiral—its invariant differs from its mirror's, exactly—and the figure-eight amphichiral. Lepton Mass Geometry as State-Induced Magnetic Holonomy: Global Rigidity, Quantized-Sector Exclusions, and Certified Measure-Weighted Realization

Paweł Krzysztof Chomiuk

We study the precision geometry generated by three self-adjoint observables in a faithful quantum state. The centered GNS Gramian Γ = C + iΣ, its inverse Q, normalized precision coefficients B, and conditional levels pi = ΓiiQii define a weighted magnetic triangle. The paper separates exact structure, reconstruction, and open prediction. First, a reduction identity gives pi = (1 − b 2 i )/ det(I − B). For the logarithmic embedding this implies an exact global rigidity theorem: if all three induced edge weights are positive, then the logarithmic circulant deviation obeys D > J∗ = 0.394202716596 . . . , with sharp infimum J ∗ approached only in the degenerate equal-b limit. The former numerical global-floor claim is therefore replaced by an analytic theorem, independently cross-checked by an interval branch-and-bound certificate. Second, the Pauli triple has Q = (I −i[n]×)/(1−|n| 2 ) and can realize only Hol = ±1. Real precision geometry gives instead Hol = ±i; the charged- lepton phase lies outside both quantized sectors. Third, the Koide–Foot square-root mass family is exactly the spectrum of an offset uniform magnetic Schr¨odinger operator on C3. Current 2026 PDG masses show that r = √ 2 and δ = 2/9 are each individually compatible after refitting the other parameter, but their simultaneous exactness is not: it fixes mµ/me about 451.7 quoted standard deviations from the measured ratio. Fourth, for the explicit modelling prescription µi = pi , a Krawczyk interval certificate proves an exact realization of the measured square-root mass ratios at the idealized Brannen flux Φ0 = π+2/3 on a fixed transversal slice; further Krawczyk certificates prove realizations at the exact decimal fluxes Φ = 1.105 and Φ = 1.4, and a continuation scan locates the feasibility boundary at Φ∗ ≈ 1.1044604 (record level). Finally, an implicit-function theorem turns a former caveat into a structural result: near the certified witness, the exact mass-ratio solutions form a three-dimensional manifold when (b1, Φ, α) are allowed to vary in the family µ = p α. Hence the two mass ratios cannot locally select the flux, the measure exponent, or the witness coordinate. The framework therefore provides exact rigidity, exclusions, and realizability, while identifying a parameter-free upstream selector as the precise missing ingredient required for prediction.

φ Is the Eigenvalue of Self-Reference

Eric McLean

Description The golden ratio keeps appearing in physics. This paper explains why. Hardy's entanglement paradox: φ⁻⁵. E8 symmetry at quantum criticality: frequency ratio φ. Phase transitions, coherence thresholds, even prime number distributions: φ, φ, φ. For decades, these appearances have been treated as curiosities—beautiful coincidences without a common cause. This paper provides the cause: φ is the eigenvalue of self-reference. The Hidden Assumption in Quantum Mechanics Standard quantum mechanics contains an unexamined assumption: the measurement apparatus is external to the system being measured. The operator acts on the state, but the state doesn't act back on the operator. We remove this assumption. When a system measures itself—when the operator depends on the eigenvalue it produces—the linear eigenvalue problem becomes a nonlinear fixed-point equation: This equation has exactly two solutions: φ and ψ = −φ⁻¹. Stability analysis reveals that φ is the unique positive stable attractor. Under iterative dynamics, any positive initial value converges to φ. The golden ratio isn't chosen—it's forced by the mathematics of self-reference. Not Arbitrary: Provably Minimal Why the form = (1 + 1/a)Î? We prove this is the unique minimal self-referential operator: It recovers standard QM as self-reference vanishes (a → ∞) It includes exactly one unit of self-referential feedback It sits at the root of a universal structure we call the Golden Ladder The coefficient 1 equals L₁, the first Lucas number. Higher-order self-referential systems climb the ladder with coefficients L₃ = 4, L₅ = 11, L₇ = 29... Each rung has eigenvalue φᵏ for odd k. The Golden Ladder: A Universal Architecture Rung Lucas Coefficient Eigenvalue Physical System k=1 L₁ = 1 φ Quantum self-measurement k=3 L₃ = 4 φ³ Goldbach prime pairs k=5 L₅ = 11 φ⁵ Hardy entanglement / Vinogradov k=7 L₇ = 29 φ⁷ Four-prime sums One algebraic structure. Multiple physical manifestations. The Coherence Threshold Nested self-reference—measurement of measurement of measurement—produces a critical threshold: This is not a fitted parameter. It's a derived constant—the binary φ-series. Below η_c: recursive patterns dissipate.Above η_c: self-reference becomes self-sustaining. This threshold appears independently in Ginzburg-Landau simulations, neural synchronization studies, and prime pair densities—systems that know nothing of each other. Unification This single principle—φ as the eigenvalue of self-reference—unifies: Hardy (1993): Maximum entanglement probability = φ⁻⁵. Two particles in mutual self-reference create a 5-deep recursive chain. Coldea et al. (2010): E8 symmetry at quantum criticality with frequency ratio φ. Scale invariance IS self-reference across scale. Goldbach prime pairs: Mean partition ratio → φ⁻³. Coupled primality creates self-referential sieve geometry. The 62/38 partition: φ⁻¹ ≈ 0.618, φ⁻² ≈ 0.382. Wherever self-reference divides a unity, this ratio appears. Geometric Consequences Self-reference generates dual spirals: Ascending: φ¹, φ², φ³, φ⁴... (growth, actualization) Descending: φ⁻¹, φ⁻², φ⁻³, φ⁻⁴... (foundation, recursion depth) The separation between spirals at level n: For odd n: Lucas numbers (integers)—stable, accessible statesFor even n: √5 × Fibonacci (irrational)—present but not occupiable This explains quantization in self-referential systems. Only odd rungs are "integer-accessible." Five Hilbert Space Constructions Appendix B provides five independent approaches embedding self-referential dynamics in rigorous mathematical frameworks: Nonlinear eigenvalue problems (well-studied in applied mathematics) Fixed-point iteration (contraction mapping to φ) Mean-field analogy (Gross-Pitaevskii-like self-consistent energy) Feedback-controlled quantum systems (cavity QED protocols) Self-referential qubit (energy-dependent coupling) All five converge on the same result: self-reference constrains eigenvalues to {φ, ψ}. Testable Predictions Spectral signatures: Quantum systems with engineered self-referential feedback will exhibit φ-ratios in their eigenspectra. Threshold universality: η_c = 0.5496... will appear in any system with nested binary self-reference. Ladder quantization: Systems crossing the coherence threshold will show discrete states at odd Lucas-number separations. Vinogradov signature: Three-prime partition ratios will converge to φ⁻⁵ ≈ 0.090. Connections to Quantum Foundations The paper engages seriously with existing interpretations: QBism: The agent cannot be external to the world they model. We show this constrains eigenvalues to φ. Relational QM: States are relative to observers. We extend this to A's state relative to A—self-reference. Decoherence: Requires an environment. We address the complementary case: closed systems with no outside. Wheeler's participatory universe: The cosmos as "self-excited circuit." We provide the mathematics: the circuit has Golden Ladder structure. What This Paper Is—And Isn't It is: A mathematical framework showing that if self-referential measurement occurs, then eigenvalues are constrained to φ and ψ. It is not: A claim to have solved the measurement problem or discovered a new physical mechanism. Whether physical systems actually implement self-reference is an empirical question. Our contribution is identifying the mathematical signature that would result—and noting that this signature appears repeatedly in nature. Holonomy-First Native Operations: An Invariant-Only Framework for Loop-Based Quantum Control

James Kazadi

Holonomy-first quantum frameworks treat closed-loop transformations — holonomies — as the primitive operations from which native gates are mined, rather than as derived quantities. We develop this viewpoint in two parts. First, we construct a gauge-invariant commutator-strength matrix S(ε) from trace data of short group-commutator words and use it to drive an explicit native-operation promotion protocol. The bracket-norm interpretation of S(ε) is asymptotic with a general O(ε) remainder; for inversion-symmetric primitive families all odd-order corrections vanish, giving O(ε2) accuracy, and a counterexample shows the symmetry cannot be dropped. The promotion criteria are operationalized as declared statistical tests — sampling-cost laws for interferometric and readout-floor regimes, a bias-corrected scale-equivalence rule, and multiplicity control — and a deterministic simulation campaign reports decision replication, false-promotion control, inverse-defect detection, and execution cost under finite-shot readout, calibration error, imperfect inverses, and visibility loss. Second, for two-particle preparations of Schmidt rank two, the common-basepoint return-amplitude residue factorizes exactly as ΔPθ = C(θ)HE(χ, γ), with C(θ) the concurrence and HE = sin2(2γ) sin4(χ/2) a calibrated loop factor, determining negativity, entanglement entropy, product fidelity, and geometric entanglement within the family. A two-boson construction realizes the encoded geometric gate −σx on span{|20⟩, |02⟩}; under the same two-mode, same-dimension projected-scalar condition, no corresponding one-particle holonomic cycle exists unless the one-body Hamiltonian is scalar. The mathematical ingredients are established; the contribution is the invariant-readout protocol, its quantified cost and uncertainty analysis, and precise statements of what can and cannot be inferred without full operator reconstruction. Hardy’s paradox reaches its quantum maximum at Φ−5 = (5√ 5 − 11)/2. We show that this number is a holonomy.

It is the unique stable fixed point of the simplest self-referential equation. Wherever we find φ, we find a system looking back at itself.
