Cross-Context Articulation: Multiple Lawful Distinction Structures in a Whole-First Quantum Framework

Abstract

Whole Pattern, Local Event (WPLE) assigns explanatory and ontological priority to the quantum Whole and treats distinctions, effective alternatives, and localized manifestations as physically articulated within it. Paper 7 developed the single-context problem: a physically realized access structure carries a criterion, induces context-relative indiscernibility, and makes selected differences articulable before a discrete set of alternatives is imposed. The present paper develops the cross-context problem. A common modeled domain can support more than one physically lawful articulation structure when different realized contexts preserve different differences in their responses. For a family of physically realizable contexts C_phys(D), each context c induces a response map M_c, an indiscernibility relation ~_c, and an effective response space S(D)/~_c. The family of these structures is called an articulation atlas. Contexts may stand in post-processing relations that define a preorder on contexts and a partial order on post-processing equivalence classes, or remain operationally incomparable. Distinctions that recur across multiple access structures acquire cross-context stability, while primitive ontological status remains an additional claim requiring further grounds. Formal and experimental precedents provide distinct forms of support: which-way correlations can determine the availability of path information; parity measurements can resolve a shared relational property while preserving coherence inside parity sectors; GHZ reduced-state results show that a multipartite distinction need not be recoverable from proper-subsystem reduced states; and operationally accessible interactions and measurements can help determine effective subsystem structure. Synthetic frequency dimensions and dimension witnesses provide neighboring examples of engineered and operationally certified structure. These access-based examples show how structural distinctions can become physically available or experimentally ascertainable. The Kochen-Specker theorem supplies a complementary no-go constraint: under its stated assumptions, compatible measurement contexts cannot be represented by one global noncontextual definite-value assignment. WPLE organizes these different results within a Whole-first cross-context thesis: one quantum Whole may support multiple lawful articulations, and the success of any one articulation establishes its physical effectiveness under the conditions that sustain it.

From Whole to Distinction: Physical Context and Pre-Alternative Articulation in a Whole-First Quantum Framework

Brahmar Chaganty, Hemal Jariwala

Whole Pattern, Local Event (WPLE) assigns ontological priority to the quantum Whole and treats localized particle-like manifestation as downstream from Whole-level quantum structure. Paper 3 developed relational resolution as the distinguishability of conditional states relative to physically relevant alternatives, while explicitly leaving the specification of those alternatives to the interaction structure and other physics of the modeled problem. The present paper moves one explanatory step earlier. It asks how a physically instantiated context carrying a resolving criterion can make a distinction articulable within an inclusive modeled domain before that distinction is represented as a predefined set of alternatives. A context may be modeled by a physical response channel M_c; operationally, the distinction structure relevant to that context can be characterized by the family of effects accessible through the response. Modeled states that agree on every response available through the context are context-indiscernible; states that differ on an accessible response are distinguishable relative to that context. The resulting structure is an effective context-relative response space. Mutually exclusive alternatives or sectors enter where additional physical structure - for example a classical output, commutative response algebra, orthogonal support, or justified coarse-graining - supports such a decomposition. Output distinguishability and post-processing then quantify how finely the context preserves response-relevant differences. A continuous probe-coupling model shows how a physically realized sensitivity profile can induce context-relative articulation without first writing a discrete A/B decomposition, while retaining the coordinate, probe, and coupling structure supplied by the model. Paper 3's conditional-state overlap, coherence-distinguishability, and local-registration mathematics applies downstream once suitable alternatives are physically warranted. Recent work on observable-relative indiscernibility, restricted operational access, quantum reference frames, decoherence-selected observables, perspectival basis selection, quantum mereology, and reconstructive interpretation provides close mathematical and conceptual neighbors. WPLE's distinctive proposal is the Whole-first explanatory genealogy from physically embodied criterion to context-relative articulation, then to effective alternatives where warranted, relational resolution, and local manifestation.

Articulation and Persistence: A Conceptual Closure in the Whole Pattern, Local Event Framework

Brahmar Chaganty, Hemal Jariwala

Whole Pattern, Local Event (WPLE) gives explanatory priority to the Whole and treats particle-like localization as a local physical manifestation within that Whole. Paper 1 established that the localized form of an event does not, by itself, warrant projecting a continuously localized corpuscle backward through the prior quantum process. Paper 7 then examined how criterion-bearing physical context makes distinctions articulable before predefined alternatives are assumed, and Paper 3 described how physically warranted alternatives can become relationally resolved and locally embodied. The present note completes that line of thought by separating articulation from persistence. A local articulation is real through the physical relation in which a distinction becomes effective. Persistence, where physically present, is an additional property of the organization that sustains that articulation across further relations. This distinction extends WPLE’s anti-reification discipline forward as well as backward: local reality is established at articulation, while object-like continuity requires its own physical support. Durable detector records form a downstream case of persistence. Once a local manifestation is incorporated into a stable apparatus-environment configuration, the existing WPLE Technical Note and established physics of amplification, decoherence, detector dynamics, materials, and nonequilibrium thermodynamics provide the relevant account. The resulting WPLE ordering therefore distinguishes local reality from later persistence while keeping both within one Whole-first framework.

From Wave Character to Local Registration: Relational Resolution in a Whole-First Quantum Framework

Brahmar Chaganty, Hemal Jariwala

Whole Pattern, Local Event (WPLE) assigns ontological priority to the quantum Whole, treats wave-character as intrinsic to Whole-level quantum structure, and locates particle-like localization at local physical manifestation. This paper develops the downstream question of how Whole-level wave structure can support increasingly resolved distinctions and, under additional conditions of local embodiment and stability, registrations or records. Relational resolution is defined as the distinguishability of conditional states relative to physically relevant alternatives. The mathematical ingredients are established: classical and quantum coherence, conditional-state overlaps, trace distance, complementarity relations, resource-theoretic coherence-distinguishability bounds, decoherence, pointer-state selection, and record formation. A worked two-site localized-detector model explicitly traces an initial Whole-level state through conditional coupling, increasing relational resolution, localized detector excitation, and a schematic environmental stabilization/record-robustness stage. The unitary model establishes locally embodied, registration-capable conditional structure; it does not select one unique actual event. The contribution is a Whole-first organization of established structure: local manifestation and record formation are treated as downstream developments of Whole-level wave structure rather than as consequences of a primitive continuously localized corpuscle.

Whole Pattern, Local Event: A Whole-First Ontological Ordering of Wave and Particle in Quantum Theory

Brahmar Chaganty, Hemal Jariwala

Quantum theory is commonly narrated by beginning with objects already called photons, electrons, atoms, or molecules and then asking why those objects display wave-like behavior. Whole Pattern, Local Event (WPLE) reverses that explanatory order. Its ontological principle assigns priority to the Whole: the most fundamental quantum reality is not taken to be an assembly of independently localized corpuscles. The term wave names the Whole's intrinsic wave-like, non-corpuscular quantum character - expressed in quantum theory through phase-sensitive amplitudes, coherence, superposition, and nonseparability - without identifying the Whole with an ordinary oscillation in three-dimensional space or with any single wavefunction. In WPLE, particle-like localization manifests in local physical events such as detector transitions, ionizations, clicks, and other localized registrations. The localized morphology of such an event is not projected backward into a continuously localized corpuscular history unless independent physics warrants that description. Particle species, quantum numbers, and effective particle persistence remain intact. Standard quantum mechanics is compatible with this ordering but does not deductively establish it. The positive case for Whole-priority is abductive: nonseparability makes whole-state structure irreducible in important cases; the standard formalism does not require primitive corpuscular trajectories; localized events are nevertheless ubiquitous; and Whole-first ordering treats interference, entanglement, and localized registration without assigning rival wave and particle substances to one pre-given microscopic object. The paper distinguishes this proposal from Bohr, Everett, Bohm and Hiley, priority monism, relational quantum mechanics, Haag and Pashby, GRW flash ontology, decoherence, wave-function realism, and recent work by Goyal. WPLE does not introduce a new outcome-selection dynamics. Its central principle is compact: Whole (wave-like coherent/nonseparable quantum structure) + local interaction -> localized event (particle-like manifestation).

Decomposing the Quantum Measurement Problem: Detector Representability, Probability, and Single-Event Actuality

Kacheong Yeung, Lex Yeung

This paper argues that the quantum measurement problem is not a single explanatory gap but a collection of distinct tasks. We separate detector representability, probability structure, single-event actuality, and outcome-conditioned refinement, and distinguish all four from causal registration, the physical criterion by which an already-instantiated event becomes a completed measurement record. These are explanatory roles within one measurement phenomenon rather than successive temporal stages. The analysis begins from the contrast between a global quantum description containing several detector-correlated components and the single entry that appears in a realized measurement history. Rather than compressing this contrast into an unexplained transition often labeled “collapse,” we ask which specific explanatory constraints must be satisfied before the relation between the two descriptions can be diagnosed precisely. A finite-resolution alternating position–momentum history is used throughout to separate questions of record formation, probability, actuality, causal registration, and outcome-conditioned refinement. A continuum analysis shows that making the registered history arbitrarily dense does not by itself recover a classical trajectory. Several parts of the architecture are exact once their inputs are specified. A detector representation induces an exact quotient; a specified acquisition channel and record family induce system-side effects; and a specified quantum instrument determines a family of subnormalized conditional branches before any one outcome is instantiated. Given a realized outcome label, the same instrument determines the corresponding normalized outcome-conditioned state. A finite-dimensional acquisition model explicitly realizes the representability chain, while a record-algebra indistinguishability result shows that removing coherence between detector-record sectors can leave all expectation values in the lifted record algebra unchanged even when that coherence remains detectable in a richer context. These results sharpen, but do not dissolve, the measurement problem. Record structure does not derive Born weights; a probability law does not itself constitute the event realized in one run; a mathematically available conditional branch family does not select one branch condition as actual; and causal onset, stabilization, registration, and conditional refinement all presuppose or follow that event rather than produce it. The resulting constraint audit tests—without assuming—the hypothesis that global quantum multiplicity and detector-record definiteness may belong to different representational levels. The main conclusion is not a new collapse dynamics but a localization of the remaining explanatory burden. Once representability, probability, causal registration, and conditional refinement are assigned their proper roles, the unresolved actuality transition can no longer be hidden inside the single label “collapse.” In the typed measurement architecture considered here, no pre-event operation has the mathematical role of producing an individual event token without additional event-producing structure. This is version 1.0 of the manuscript.

From Finite Relational Structure to Qubit Operational Form

Mark Whitlock

Paper 3 of 11 — A General Theory of Answerability The eleven-paper TUS OS mathematical research programme Abstract This paper develops an exact finite local-to-global analysis of the six-dimensional Hamming-cube foundation Atlas underlying the TUS OS construction. Every admissible completed foundation carries the same exact local qubit prepare–measure representation, while the complete repeated-common-effect Atlas has exact minimum complex Hilbert dimension four. The paper classifies the full ambient family of completed four-state foundations in the six-dimensional Hamming cube. Every foundation is uniquely an affine coset associated with a perfect matching of the six coordinates. There are exactly 240 unordered foundations and 5,760 ordered codebooks. Every foundation induces the same exact 27-class tetrahedral-SIC qubit operational quotient, with carrier-fibre profile 1⁸, 2¹², 4⁶, 8¹ and the corresponding Bloch-radius structure of eight pure states, twelve states of radius √(2/3), six states of radius 1/√3, and one maximally mixed state. Each ambient chart reduces losslessly to a signed perfect matching. The chart-coloured union of two matchings obeys an exact component-parity collision law, yielding the complete seven-value image spectrum over all 28,680 ambient foundation pairs. Exactly 10,800 pairs jointly reconstruct the full 64-state carrier, giving an ambient mathematical chart-cover number of two. The frozen TUS selector defines a canonical subatlas of 36 distinct foundations and 64 anchor-indexed chart instances across nine matching classes. Its selected-foundation reconstruction graph is bipartite and eight-regular with 144 edges, while selector multiplicity yields exactly 400 reconstructing pairs among the 2,016 canonical chart-instance pairs. Only this canonical subatlas inherits the native LANDING and GUIDANCE structure. At the sequential level, all 384 active map/chart descent tests fail: no active LANDING map descends to a state-only transformation on a fixed 27-class local chart quotient. Under the complete principal future language, every canonical chart refines to all 64 deterministic predictive states, with maximum separating depth two. The subordinate GUIDANCE witness is also classified: its endpoint map has image size 34, eight two-cycle attractors and maximum transient depth five, while the additional GUIDANCE-selected chart raises principal path reconstruction from 138/192 contexts to 169/192. The paper then establishes the exact global static common-effect Hilbert dimension. Although every individual foundation admits an exact qubit representation, no unrestricted qutrit state/common-effect family can reproduce all 4,096 Atlas probabilities while simultaneously satisfying all 240 overlapping foundation POVM identities. Together with an explicit chart-independent dimension-four construction, this proves d_q^atlas = 4 for the complete static Atlas. The attaining construction uses two declared qubit sectors; unrestricted uniqueness or rigidity of minimum representations is not claimed. The result therefore exhibits a precise local-to-global separation: exact qubit prepare–measure form exists on every individual foundation, but an exact chart-independent repeated-common-effect representation of the complete Atlas requires complex Hilbert dimension four, while the complete deterministic future language preserves all 64 predictive identities. Local operational state, global relational state and deterministic predictive state are consequently distinct mathematical structures. The paper explicitly keeps these distinct from the still-unresolved whole-position process state. The scope boundary is explicit. The paper does not establish a physical quantum carrier, operational access to all 240 ambient foundations, LANDING as a quantum channel, GUIDANCE as a quantum observable, endpoint channel or instrument, contextuality, nonlocality, quantum advantage, unrestricted rigidity of minimum representations, or whole-position process synthesis. Its conclusions are exact at the static Atlas, canonical-chart and deterministic predictive scopes defined in the manuscript. Supporting General Theory Programme This paper is Paper 3 in the TUS OS quantum-operational and Answerability research programme. It extends the results of Papers 1–2 from the canonical local geometry and exact qubit prepare–measure behaviour to the complete finite relational Atlas. It classifies the full family of admissible foundations, proves that every local chart carries the same exact 27-class qubit operational quotient, identifies the canonical TUS subatlas, and shows that the complete native future language refines those local quotients back to all 64 deterministic predictive states. Its principal global result is that the complete common-effect Atlas has exact minimum quantum dimension d=4, while remaining distinct from the larger 64-state predictive structure and from later process-level dynamics. The paper also classifies the subordinate GUIDANCE witness and its finite reconstruction contribution without promoting it into a channel or instrument. The wider programme then develops complete-future and process closure in Paper 4, the Anchored Analog Quantum System framework in Paper 5, contract-relative resource and operational-observability theory in Papers 6–7, generic Answerability theory in Papers 8–9, complete TUS OS formal and executable realisation in Paper 10, and culminates in Paper 11 with A General Theory of Answerability. Paper 1 — Canonical Tetrahedral Qubit-State Geometry in the TUS OS TriadXOR Completion, Receipt Verification and the Qubit-Geometric Semantic WitnessEstablishes the canonical tetrahedral geometry, unique XOR completion, exact qubit-SIC representation and centred-face trine geometry. For each lawful foundation, the 64 six-bit carriers map to exactly 27 anchor-relative qubit preparations under one foundation-defined tetrahedral-SIC Harness, while the separately declared face Harness gives the exact trine table. Paper 3 — From Finite Relational Structure to Qubit Operational FormAmbient Foundations, Canonical Subatlas, Exact Global Quantum Dimension, GUIDANCE Witness, Sequential Closure and Global Representation in TUS OSExtends the local prepare–measure construction to the complete ambient family of 240 completed foundations and the canonical TUS OS subatlas. Every completed foundation has the same 27-class qubit operational quotient; pair relations between charts provide exact carrier-reconstruction structure; the complete repeated-common-effect static Atlas has exact minimum complex Hilbert dimension 4; and the frozen complete principal future language has deterministic predictive-state minimum 64. Paper 4 — Technical Volume II — Orthogonality, Process Closure and Native Triadic SynthesisEstablishes universal complement-support orthogonality and its propagation under exact common-CPTP dynamics, yielding the certified same-parity support graph and the bound 32 ≤ d_CPTP^min ≤ 64, with cross-parity forcing and the exact state-only common-CPTP minimum remaining unresolved. For a family of physically realizable contexts C_phys(D), each context c induces a response map M_c, an indiscernibility relation _c, and an effective response space S(D)/_c. The family of these structures is called an articulation atlas. WPLE organizes these different results within a Whole-first cross-context thesis: one quantum Whole may support multiple lawful articulations, and the success of any one articulation establishes its physical effectiveness under the conditions that sustain it.
Paper 2 — The TUS OS Operational CalculusClassical Construction of Exact Qubit Prepare–Measure Behaviour from a Receipt-Custodied Engine ArchitectureEstablishes exact full-carrier qubit prepare–measure behaviour from the deterministic classical engine under the declared Coordinate-Incidence Operational Harness. The dimension-4 result is a static representation theorem and does not by itself supply common quantum process dynamics. Paper 4 — Technical Volume I — Formal Foundations and the Complete-Future CorpusNative Contract, Statistical Discrimination and the Invariant Probability ModuleFixes the formal native domain, complete principal terminal future-experiment language and one-common-word experiment class; establishes complete statistical separation of distinct carrier pairs, exact parity-resolved discrimination results and complement reachability; and proves that the rational invariant probability module has dimension 33. It further establishes recovery-complete LANDING and GUIDANCE results, exact 64-dimensional selected-line instrument/readout minima at their declared contracts, an exact classical–quantum hybrid construction, and the native structural/predictive quotient correspondence. Paper 5 — TUS OS as an Anchored Analog Quantum SystemNative Witnesses, Predictive Synthesis, and Access-Contract Resource SeparationDefines Analog Quantum Views and Anchored Analog Quantum Systems, proves that TUS OS is a proper Anchored Analog Quantum System on its 64-input abstract canonical corpus, elevates the inherited structural/predictive correspondence into the Predictive Synthesis Identity Theorem, organises the inherited exact quantum-operational results through a typed access-contract resource law, and composes the recognition, predictive, resource and downstream-conservation results into the TUS OS Anchored Analog Quantum System Theorem. Paper 6 — Contract-Relative Quantum Realisations of Classical ProcessesPredictive Compression, Vanishing Worst-Case Causal-State Transparency, and Finite-Dimensional BreakdownExtends the programme beyond the TUS-specific discovery corpus by formalising the contract-relative achievable-resource object (S,C,𝔐,ε) ⟼ Ach(S,C;𝔐,ε), and establishes three exact contract-relative regimes: strict finite separation, unbounded finite separation and finite-capacity breakdown. These are instantiated respectively by the TUS OS 4→64 separation, the periodically modulated decay 2→N exact prediction-to-transparency separation, and dual-Poisson finite-capacity breakdown for every positive uniform worst-case transparency threshold.
