Abstract

Paper P5 of a ten part series P1-P10 on Interaction, Cohesive Emergence, and Fundamental Constants in Generalised Trace Dynamics P5 — Statistical state, conserved charge and inter-atom exchange This document writes down, choice by choice and with the source of each choice, the parent dynamical system $M_0$ from which the next stage of the programme is to derive, rather than postulate, the interaction responsible for cohesive emergence. $M_0$ is the seven-matrix model of the companion paper (P2) placed in the setting the programme's own papers prescribe: atoms as diagonal blocks of one master matrix with the off-diagonal blocks as the only coupling (the master extension of GTD, which the finite-measure test shows is an extension and not a rewriting), the harmonic trap identified --- on P1's chosen adjoint branch --- with the covariant-velocity term of the gauge audit, and the state taken to be the Adler--Millard canonical ensemble with its matrix multiplier $\lt$ conjugate to the conserved charge $\Ct$. Exact consequences of that state are then derived in $M_0$. (i) The multiplier is a $\U(N)$ angular velocity: integrating the bosonic momenta turns the ensemble weight $e^{-\Tr\lt\Ct}$ into a centrifugal configuration-space term $-\tfrac{1}{2\beta^2}\sum_A\Tr[\lt,Q_A]^2$, and the bosonic charge is $\langle\Ct_B\rangle=\beta^{-1}\langle\mathbb I(Q)\rangle\lt$ with $\mathbb I(Q)$ the inertia operator of P2 --- ``charge = inertia $\times$ angular velocity''; the fermionic charge is the fermions' $\mathfrak u(N)$ charge operator and enters the fermion determinant as a matrix-valued chemical potential. (ii) For $\lt=\lambda\ieff$ Adler's uniform-$\hbar$ assumption is exact by Schur's lemma, with $\hbar=\tfrac{\lambda}{\beta N}\langle\sum_A\Tr[\ieff,Q_A]^2\rangle$, the angular velocity times the moment of inertia about $\ieff$; the ensemble exists only for $2\lambda/\beta<m$, with or without the quartic. (iii) If $\ieff$ distinguishes two atoms, the strings between them are softened by exactly $(2\lambda/\beta)^2$ in frequency squared and the block-separating orientation is a saddle of the effective potential along the $\U(N)$ orbit at every separation and every $\lambda>0$: the state's first effect is on the orientation of the condensate relative to $\ieff$, and its effect on the shape is a Stage 1 calculation. On symmetry, the multiplier breaks $\U(N)$ to the stabiliser of $\lt$ and nothing on the octonionic index: in $M_0$ the GTD state cannot break $G_2$ explicitly at any order. The working hypothesis that $\ieff$ is an imaginary octonionic unit is examined under both of its readings: as the Adler--Millard multiplier on an octonionic module ($N=8n$) it is admissible and has $\SU(3)$ stabiliser in the module's $G_2$, but P2's action does not tie that $G_2$ to the octonionic index and no $\U(8n)$-invariant term can; as a multiplier for the symmetry that does act on the octonionic index it breaks $G_2$ only to $\U(2)$ or a torus. Colour $\SU(3)$ is also the stabiliser of a vector-type condensate, the collinear commuting configuration, and the centrifugal term prefers centrally symmetric condensates over the regular simplex that the fermion sea of P3 selects, so the colour-versus-geometry competition in the state is two-sided. Stage 1 is four calculations on existing machinery, each with a kill criterion. Five choices remain the author's; defaults are stated.

Jordan Spectral Response and Conserved Collective Charges in a Matrix Extension of Generalized Trace Dynamics: Paper P9 in a ten-part series P1-P10

Tejinder P. Singh

Paper P9 of a ten part series P1-P10 on Interaction, Cohesive Emergence, and Fundamental Constants in Generalised Trace Dynamics P9 — Jordan response and conserved collective charges Exceptional Jordan spectra can acquire physical significance only after a dynamics, a state and a normalization prescription have been specified. We investigate this issue in a finite canonical matrix extension motivated by generalized trace dynamics. Seven Hermitian $3\times3$ matrices interact through commutator, octonionic cubic and radial quartic terms. At prescribed matrix charge we construct a relative equilibrium, certify consistency of its three-amplitude ansatz and find a locally positive normal Hessian. A principal spin projection defines an explicit Albert-algebra readout. After removal of the charge phase, its 20 independent linear readings miss three collective directions; retaining them permits regular elimination of 39 gapped coordinates and gives a positive induced kinetic matrix. Hidden $SU(2)$ rotations preserve the Jordan element and invariant spectra, although fixed-component responses change. A different effect survives for Jordan-invariant probes: static relaxation and slow closed-system evolution have distinct susceptibilities. We derive the positive collective-charge correction and the bound $0\preceq\chi_{\rm dyn}\preceq\chi_{\rm stat}$. At the benchmark the quadratic Jordan invariant has an $8.0702\%$ response deficit, and the generalized susceptibility ratios are $(0.916283932,1)$, equally for two independent Jordan roots. Nineteen prescribed nearby cases retain the tested stability and response properties. This supplies a reproducible dynamics-to-Jordan-response calculation in a specified finite parent. It does not derive that parent from microscopic generalized trace dynamics, identify its roots with fermion masses, or determine observed fundamental constants.

Derivation of the Effective Dynamics for the Bose Polaron

Spruck, Siegfried

Critical emergence of quantum theory, spacetime and gravity from generalised trace dynamics

Tejinder P. Singh

Generalized trace dynamics (GTD) is a deterministic dynamics of aikyons (atoms of space-time-matter) whose near-equilibrium statistical mechanics yields quantum dynamics, while large anti-self-adjoint fluctuations drive spontaneous localisation and emergent classical spacetime. We separate two independent large limits: long-Connes-time coarse-graining of a finite system, which conditionally yields the quantum Ward identities, and the extensive many-aikyon/large-matrix limit required for a collective singularity. We turn the condensed-matter analogy of the E8 x omega E8 programme into a quantitative, falsifiable effective framework. Four coupled composite channels (bifermionic localisation, geometric soldering/Lorentz-Higgs, gauge-invariant electroweak, and matrix-valued flavour) define an exact susceptibility matrix and Legendre effective action, giving zero-mode and free-energy criteria for a common continuous or first-order transition. We pose the nonequilibrium problem in Schwinger-Keldysh form, define a projected fluctuation-dissipation defect and the martingale condition for Born probabilities, identify Newton's constant with the stiffness of the ordered geometric phase, and give conditions under which the Sakharov, constrained-BF, Jacobson, Padmanabhan and Verlinde descriptions of gravity are limits of one substrate. A regulated two-sector surrogate ensemble (a Myers-deformed geometric triple coupled to a matter matrix, with a Grassmann-regulated fermionic extension) shows that selected diagnostics are calculable: exact Adler-Millard charge conservation, a multi-channel first-order jump, a verified fluctuation-dissipation relation and its quench defect, and a fermionic spectral dimension d_s = 1.96 on the emergent two-sphere. The result is a calculational programme, not a completed derivation; the next step is the many-aikyon composite two-point matrix for GTD itself.

Understanding Spin in Trace Dynamics Using Division Algebras

Tejinder P. Singh

Trace dynamics is a matrix-valued Lagrangian/Hamiltonian dynamics whose equilibrium statistical mechanics yields quantum theory via the Adler--Millard conserved charge. A persistent conceptual gap is a canonical (Noether--Hamiltonian) definition of spin: since trace dynamics is fundamentally pre-spacetime (in the sense that classical spacetime geometry is emergent), the conventional interpretation of spin as an ``internal'' angular momentum requires a precise identification of the relevant configuration ``angle'' variable and the space in which it lives. Building on earlier phase-amplitude constructions of complexified trace-dynamical variables, we propose a mathematically sharpened definition: \emph{spin is the canonical momentum conjugate to an orientation variable valued in an appropriate spin group} (e.g.\ $\Spin(3,1)$ on an emergent Lorentzian leaf, or $\Spin(3,3)$ at the 6D pre-localisation stage). This reformulation upgrades the abelian phase $\theta$ to a nonabelian group element $U(\tau)$, with angular velocity $\Omega=U^{-1}\dot U$ and intrinsic spin tensor $S=\delta\,\Tr L/\delta\Omega\in\mathfrak{spin}(p,q)$. We show (i) how the earlier $\theta$-momentum definition arises as a restriction to a one-parameter subgroup; (ii) how quantisation of spin follows from the emergent canonical (anti)commutators induced by equipartition of the Adler--Millard charge together with the topology of the true orientation manifold ($\SU(2)$ double cover); (iii) how the Pauli--Lubanski invariant is recovered and how a 6D $(3,3)$-signature generalisation naturally appears as a 3-form; and (iv) how division-algebra geometry (octonions, split bioctonions) provides a concrete scaffolding for the relevant spin groups, including the $\SO(3,3)\to \SO(3,1)\times \SO(2)$ leaf selection and the $\SU(3)_{\mathrm{geom}}$-induced internal $\mathrm{Spin}^c$ structure on $\mathbb{CP}^2$-type fibres. We also clarify the relation between Poincar\'e-mass as the translation Casimir and ``square-root mass'' charges that can arise from geometric $U(1)$ factors.

(ii) For <=λ\ieff\lt=\lambda\ieff<=λ\ieff Adler's uniform-ℏ\hbarℏ assumption is exact by Schur's lemma, with ℏ=λβN⟨∑A\Tr[\ieff,QA]2⟩\hbar=\tfrac{\lambda}{\beta N}\langle\sum_A\Tr[\ieff,Q_A]^2\rangleℏ=βNλ⟨∑A\Tr[\ieff,QA]2⟩, the angular velocity times the moment of inertia about \ieff\ieff\ieff; the ensemble exists only for 2λ/β<m2\lambda/\beta<m2λ/β<m, with or without the quartic. On symmetry, the multiplier breaks \U(N)\U(N)\U(N) to the stabiliser of <\lt< and nothing on the octonionic index: in M0M_0M0 the GTD state cannot break G2G_2G2 explicitly at any order. The working hypothesis that \ieff\ieff\ieff is an imaginary octonionic unit is examined under both of its readings: as the Adler--Millard multiplier on an octonionic module (N=8nN=8nN=8n) it is admissible and has \SU(3)\SU(3)\SU(3) stabiliser in the module's G2G_2G2, but P2's action does not tie that G2G_2G2 to the octonionic index and no \U(8n)\U(8n)\U(8n)-invariant term can; as a multiplier for the symmetry that does act on the octonionic index it breaks G2G_2G2 only to \U(2)\U(2)\U(2) or a torus.
