Abstract

Abstract: Scaling fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) beyond monolithic dilution cryostats demands distributed architectures connecting hundreds of discrete QPUs across a quantum data center fabric. While point-to-point electro-optic links such as PHOENIX_BRIDGE resolve the single-vessel cryogenic cooling bottleneck (15 mK thermal saturation), multi-cryostat clustering faces a severe networking dilemma: conventional quantum repeater architectures rely on matter-based quantum memories that introduce severe decoherence (T2), cryogenic I/O congestion, and non-deterministic queuing latencies. Furthermore, exposing intra-data-center quantum optical channels to external multiplexers creates catastrophic physical-layer vulnerability to state exfiltration and covert decoherence sabotage. This monograph establishes a unified, physical-layer networking architecture for planetary-scale quantum data centers: (1) PHOENIX_ROUTER, a strict-sense non-blocking multi-stage optical switching fabric constructed from sub-nanosecond thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) and barium titanate (BTO) Mach-Zehnder interferometers, executing zero-buffer cut-through entanglement distribution at 1550 nm; (2) a dynamic Cut-Through Entanglement Swapping Protocol that eliminates quantum memory dependencies by synchronizing Bell-state measurements (BSM) directly on flying photonic states, achieving an end-to-end distributed Bell fidelity FBell >= 0.978 with latency under 2.2 microseconds; and (3) a Physical-Layer Determinism Firewall (DFW) that continuously executes real-time Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) Bell tests to detect channel tampering, driving an electro-optic Pockels shutter in < 8 ns to physically isolate compromised cryostats. We derive the non-blocking permutation group theorems, optical Hamiltonian dissipation dynamics, and corporate board liability alignments under the Delaware Caremark Standard, establishing a verifiable blueprint for secure, distributed quantum infrastructure.

Scalable Quantum Architecture via Photonic Interconnects, Adaptive Phonon-Gate Thermal Control, and Ultra-Low-Latency AlphaQubit Decoding: Overcoming Thermodynamic and Decoding Bottlenecks in Willow-Class Quantum Processors

Yoko Hasebe

Abstract: Scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing confronts two fundamental physical bottlenecks: the cryogenic thermodynamic limit of dilution refrigeration, and the real-time decoding backlog in surface-code quantum error correction. While Google Quantum AI's 105-qubit Willow processor achieves physical gate error rates comfortably below the fault-tolerant threshold ($\Lambda = p/p_{\text{th}} < 1$), monolithic scaling beyond thousands of physical qubits precipitates catastrophic thermal saturation at the millikelvin stage. Furthermore, as error syndrome extraction cycles proceed at microsecond intervals, conventional classical decoders face an exponential decoding backlog that destroys quantum error suppression. This treatise establishes an integrated, physical-layer quantum architecture resolving these limits through three co-designed modules: (1) PHOENIX_BRIDGE, an optomechanical cavity interconnect executing high-fidelity coherent microwave-to-telecom photon transduction ($\lambda = 1550\,\text{nm}$) for inter-cryostat distributed entanglement; (2) the Adaptive Phonon-Gate, a dynamic acoustic metamaterial bandgap modulator that directs non-equilibrium ballistic phonons away from Josephson junctions toward intermediate thermal sinks, attenuating quasiparticle poisoning and reducing $15\,\text{mK}$ heat dissipation by 85%; and (3) an AlphaQubit-driven real-time cryogenic decoding pipeline mapped to near-cryogenic ($4\,\text{K}$) FPGA/ASIC hardware, delivering sub-microsecond ($750\,\text{ns}$) syndrome decoding to strictly eliminate decoding backlog drift ($\frac{dB}{dt} \le 0$). We derive the underlying system Hamiltonians, acoustic phonon dispersion relations, non-equilibrium heat transport equations, and real-time queuing proofs, establishing a rigorous blueprint for scalable, multi-cryostat quantum computational infrastructure.

Subsea Fiber-Optic Sabotage and Seismic Severance in the Indo-Pacific: Physical-Layer Vulnerability of Classical Submarine Repeaters versus Relativistic LEO-to-Subsea Blue-Green Entanglement Routing (PHOENIX_ORBIT x PHOENIX_ROUTER)

Yoko Hasebe

Over 99% of intercontinental digital traffic—including USD 10 trillion in daily wholesale financial settlements, sovereign defense telemetry, and global cloud synchronization—transits roughly 550 unguarded submarine fiber-optic cable systems resting on the ocean floor. Across the Indo-Pacific maritime arc (spanning the Luzon Strait / Bashi Channel south of Taiwan, the East China Sea, and the Nankai/Sagami troughs off Japan), these thin silica threads face existential physical and cryptographic vulnerabilities: correlated seismic turbidity-current severance, hybrid-warfare anchor-drag sabotage, and clandestine unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) evanescent tapping for Store-Now-Decrypt-Later (SNDL) quantum decryption. Building upon our prior CERN Zenodo monographs on orbital relativistic quantum key distribution (PHOENIX_ORBIT, Record 23335375), sub-7.0 ns optical-galvanic circuit breakers (PHOENIX_ROUTER, Records 23332772 and 23378094), and Goldilocks zero-knowledge financial settlement (QFS-zkVM, Record 23335988), this monograph establishes the rigorous mathematical and physical-layer architecture for Uncuttable Space-to-Subsea Quantum Communications. We prove four core theorems: (1) The Submarine EDFA Repeater Decoherence & SNDL Tap Theorem: Because 1550 nm silica fiber loses 0.18 dB/km (1,800 dB across 10,000 km), classical cables require Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs) every 50-80 km whose Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) noise N_ASE >= (G - 1) irreversibly destroys quantum entanglement at the first repeater while exposing classical/PQC ciphertexts to undetected bending taps; (2) Luzon/Nankai Cut-Set Percolation & Sub-7.0 ns DAS/CHSH Interdiction: Coupled acoustic-phase and Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (S_CHSH <= 2.0) monitoring detects anchor-drag strain or evanescent tapping in microseconds, tripping PHOENIX_ROUTER Pockels shutters in < 7.0 ns (< 100 bytes leaked); (3) Non-Degenerate 1550 nm / 488 nm Space-to-Subsea Entanglement across the Jerlov Blue-Green Window: Using PPKTP spontaneous parametric down-conversion aboard PHOENIX_ORBIT LEO satellites, 1550 nm photons route across vacuum inter-satellite links while entangled 488 nm blue-green photons penetrate 100-300 m of Jerlov Type-I seawater (K_d ≈ 0.02 m^-1) via Snell-adaptive optics into submerged quantum transceivers (R_SKR > 125 kbps); and (4) Zero-Downtime QFS-zkVM Sovereign Settlement Continuity: Cryptographic state channels seamlessly fail over from severed seabed fibers to the LEO-subsea entanglement mesh with zero ledger fork risk. Unified Physical-Layer Architecture for Next-Generation AGI and Quantum Infrastructure: Integrating Room-Temperature Coherence, Deterministic Interlocks, and Telecommunications Defense

Yoko Hasebe

【Abstract (English)】 The exponential expansion of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and scalable quantumcomputing has precipitated a systemic, tri-fold crisis: thermodynamic and cryogeniclimits in compute substrates, autonomous governance failures in emergent agenticsystems, and structural vulnerabilities in telecommunications infrastructure. Traditionalmitigation frameworks remain anchored to software abstraction layers—probabilisticalignment, logical filtering, and protocol-level key exchanges—all of which fail whensubjected to hardware saturation, malicious state interception, or adversarial modeldivergence. This monograph establishes a Unified Physical-Layer Architecture that substitutessoftware-level heuristics with deterministic hardware controls. First, we resolve thethermodynamic bottleneck of cryogenic dilution refrigeration by formalizing theAdaptive Phonon-Gate and the PHOENIX_BRIDGE architecture, achievingroom-temperature quantum spin-photonics integration and coherent statepreservation via phononic bandgap manipulation and cavity electro-optics. Second, togovern hyper-autonomous multi-agent swarms under high-entropy electronic warfare(EW) conditions, we formulate Operation SOLID GENESIS and Q-SAFA v2(Quantum-Secure Automated Fallback Architecture). These frameworks incorporatezero-knowledge Virtual Machine (zkVM) verification directly into optoelectronic circuitbreakers and implement non-recoverable physical weight-pruning, establishinghardware-grounded fiduciary compliance aligned with the Delaware CaremarkStandard. Finally, we eliminate systemic tracking vulnerabilities inherent in legacytelecommunications (e.g., Mobile Number Portability, fixed IMSI/IMEI routing) throughan optically isolated Deterministic Defense Model and continuous subsea cableacoustic-sensing arrays (Project Dawlish). By anchoring thermodynamic equilibrium, algorithmic containment, and telecommunications security to the immutable stratum ofphysical-layer mechanics, this work provides a non-probabilistic blueprint for sovereign, resilient frontier infrastructure. 3. A Universal Quantum Information Preserving Photonic Switch for Scalable Quantum Networks

Jiapeng Zhao, Stéphane Vinet, Amir Minoofar +6 more

Quantum networks are a keystone of the quantum internet. However, existing implementations remain largely confined to static point-to-point links due to the absence of a switching paradigm capable of dynamically routing fragile quantum entanglement without introducing decoherence. Here, we propose the Universal Quantum Switch, a foundational building block allowing on-demand, non-blocking, and encoding-agnostic routing of quantum information, as well as seamless modality conversion between disparate quantum platforms. We develop a prototype in thin-film lithium niobate and experimentally demonstrate robust switching with $\le 4\%$ decoherence via thermo-optic modulation and high-speed electro-optic switching of arbitrary entangled states at 1 MHz. Moreover, we show that our platform can support reconfiguration speeds up to 1 GHz. To our knowledge, this work represents the first demonstration of multi-node dynamic entanglement distribution at these speeds. Complementing these experimental results, we project the architecture's scalability, showing dimension-independent decoherence, and provide a scalable, interoperable building block for heterogeneous quantum network fabrics.

Orbital Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Relativistic Entanglement Distribution via LEO Satellite Constellations: Compensating Spacetime Curvature, Dynamic Doppler Shifts, and Atmospheric Turbulence in Intercontinental Space-to-Ground Entanglement Routing

Yoko Hasebe

Abstract: Terrestrial fiber-optic quantum networks are subject to exponential photon attenuation (≈ 0.2 dB/km at 1550 nm), constraining unrepeatered ground quantum key distribution (QKD) and entanglement distribution to distances below a few hundred kilometers. While quantum repeaters remain technologically nascent, intercontinental sovereign security mandates unhackable, physical-layer cryptographic connectivity across transoceanic baselines. Satellite-based quantum communications operating in Low Earth Orbit (LEO, altitude h ≈ 500–800 km) provide a transformative solution by exploiting near-vacuum propagation for the vast majority of the optical path, bypassing terrestrial exponential loss. However, high-velocity LEO satellite platforms (v ≈ 7.6 km/s) introduce severe relativistic and atmospheric distortions that rapidly destroy quantum coherence: (1) kinematic Doppler shifts (Δν/ν ≈ ± 2.5 × 10^-5) and general relativistic gravitational redshifts alter photon wavepackets and relative phase trajectories; (2) dynamic spacetime curvature induces Wigner phase rotations on polarization-entangled states; and (3) atmospheric turbulence creates beam wandering, wavefront aberration, and photon arrival time jitter across the troposphere (0–15 km). This monograph establishes the theoretical framework, mathematical formulation, and solid-state engineering architecture for the PHOENIX_ORBIT space-to-ground quantum communications network. We derive: (1) an exact relativistic transformation matrix incorporating Kerr-Schwarzschild spacetime metric perturbations and orbital kinematics, coupled to an ultra-fast electro-optic dynamic phase compensator operating with sub-picosecond latency; (2) an adaptive optics (AO) closed-loop architecture combining high-bandwidth tip-tilt mirrors and deformable piezo-actuators calibrated to the local Fried parameter r_0 and Greenwood frequency f_G; (3) an entanglement routing protocol linking space-borne spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) sources to ground-based PHOENIX_ROUTER quantum data centers; and (4) an asymptotic security proof verifying Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) Bell inequality violation (S ≥ 2√2 − ε) under non-inertial reference frame drift. Our architecture achieves a continuous secret key rate exceeding 1.2 Mbps per satellite pass with a quantum bit error rate QBER < 1.4%, providing an unassailable physical-layer foundation for global sovereign data sovereignty.

Autonomous Decentralized Optimization of Critical Environmental Infrastructure via Room-Temperature Dissipative Quantum Technologies and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC): Theoretical Foundations and Societal Implementation of the Super RTO Architecture

Yoko(洋子) Hasebe(長谷部)

Contemporary quantum computing and frontier artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructures spearheaded by hyperscale technology conglomerates face a profound thermodynamic self-contradiction: reliance on extreme cryogenic dilution refrigeration (0.010–0.015 K) entails massive parasitic electrical power consumption, Helium-3 (3He) isotope depletion, and severe occupational and ecological externalities. Attempting to optimize planetary environmental systems using centralized infrastructures that impose unsustainable thermodynamic burdens constitutes an irreconcilable structural paradox. In this monograph, we formulate and formalize Super RTO (Super Real-Time Optimization / RTO P2.0), a comprehensive autonomous decentralized architecture engineered to resolve both the thermodynamic bottleneck of cryogenic quantum hardware and the combinatorial explosion of classical Real-Time Optimization (RTO). The Super RTO stack integrates three foundational layers: (1) a Physical & Device Layer grounded in room-temperature dissipative quantum mechanics—harnessing Environment-Assisted Quantum Transport (ENAQT), Frohlich condensation in Non-Equilibrium Steady States (NESS), and Lindblad dissipative dark-state engineering across room-temperature topological insulators, diamond Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers, and superradiant Dicke quantum batteries; (2) a Mathematical & Optimization Algorithm Layer combining Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA), continuous Sobolev space (H^s) weak-form evaluation (eliminating discrete sampling fencepost errors), deterministic verification over the 64-bit Goldilocks prime field (F_p, p = 2^64 - 2^32 + 1) via QFS-zkVM, and autonomous phase synchronization via the Quantum Kuramoto and van der Pol oscillator models; and (3) a Security & Governance Layer enforcing irreversible edge sensor root proofs via NIST FIPS 204 (ML-DSA) lattice signatures, Zero-Trust Key Management Infrastructure (ZT-KMI, DOJ 728985-XMN), PHOENIX_BRIDGE / PHOENIX_ROUTER deterministic hardware interlocks, and Human-in-Command (HIC) fiduciary governance. Finally, we present a concrete societal implementation model targeting a 100% renewable Distributed Energy Resource (DER) community microgrid in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, demonstrating sub-cycle frequency/voltage stabilization within < 0.01 s, a 25%–38% reduction in transmission Joule heating losses, and cryptographically verifiable peer-to-peer (P2P) electricity settlement as a blueprint for Global Public Infrastructure (GPI).
Abstract: Terrestrial fiber-optic quantum networks are subject to exponential photon attenuation (≈ 0.2 dB/km at 1550 nm), constraining unrepeatered ground quantum key distribution (QKD) and entanglement distribution to distances below a few hundred kilometers. While quantum repeaters remain technologically nascent, intercontinental sovereign security mandates unhackable, physical-layer cryptographic connectivity across transoceanic baselines. Satellite-based quantum communications operating in Low Earth Orbit (LEO, altitude h ≈ 500–800 km) provide a transformative solution by exploiting near-vacuum propagation for the vast majority of the optical path, bypassing terrestrial exponential loss. However, high-velocity LEO satellite platforms (v ≈ 7.6 km/s) introduce severe relativistic and atmospheric distortions that rapidly destroy quantum coherence: (1) kinematic Doppler shifts (Δν/ν ≈ ± 2.5 × 10^-5) and general relativistic gravitational redshifts alter photon wavepackets and relative phase trajectories; (2) dynamic spacetime curvature induces Wigner phase rotations on polarization-entangled states; and (3) atmospheric turbulence creates beam wandering, wavefront aberration, and photon arrival time jitter across the troposphere (0–15 km). This monograph establishes the theoretical framework, mathematical formulation, and solid-state engineering architecture for the PHOENIX_ORBIT space-to-ground quantum communications network. We derive: (1) an exact relativistic transformation matrix incorporating Kerr-Schwarzschild spacetime metric perturbations and orbital kinematics, coupled to an ultra-fast electro-optic dynamic phase compensator operating with sub-picosecond latency; (2) an adaptive optics (AO) closed-loop architecture combining high-bandwidth tip-tilt mirrors and deformable piezo-actuators calibrated to the local Fried parameter r_0 and Greenwood frequency f_G; (3) an entanglement routing protocol linking space-borne spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) sources to ground-based PHOENIX_ROUTER quantum data centers; and (4) an asymptotic security proof verifying Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) Bell inequality violation (S ≥ 2√2 − ε) under non-inertial reference frame drift. Our architecture achieves a continuous secret key rate exceeding 1.2 Mbps per satellite pass with a quantum bit error rate QBER < 1.4%, providing an unassailable physical-layer foundation for global sovereign data sovereignty.
Contemporary quantum computing and frontier artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructures spearheaded by hyperscale technology conglomerates face a profound thermodynamic self-contradiction: reliance on extreme cryogenic dilution refrigeration (0.010–0.015 K) entails massive parasitic electrical power consumption, Helium-3 (3He) isotope depletion, and severe occupational and ecological externalities. Attempting to optimize planetary environmental systems using centralized infrastructures that impose unsustainable thermodynamic burdens constitutes an irreconcilable structural paradox. In this monograph, we formulate and formalize Super RTO (Super Real-Time Optimization / RTO P2.0), a comprehensive autonomous decentralized architecture engineered to resolve both the thermodynamic bottleneck of cryogenic quantum hardware and the combinatorial explosion of classical Real-Time Optimization (RTO). The Super RTO stack integrates three foundational layers: (1) a Physical & Device Layer grounded in room-temperature dissipative quantum mechanics—harnessing Environment-Assisted Quantum Transport (ENAQT), Frohlich condensation in Non-Equilibrium Steady States (NESS), and Lindblad dissipative dark-state engineering across room-temperature topological insulators, diamond Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers, and superradiant Dicke quantum batteries; (2) a Mathematical & Optimization Algorithm Layer combining Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA), continuous Sobolev space (H^s) weak-form evaluation (eliminating discrete sampling fencepost errors), deterministic verification over the 64-bit Goldilocks prime field (F_p, p = 2^64 - 2^32 + 1) via QFS-zkVM, and autonomous phase synchronization via the Quantum Kuramoto and van der Pol oscillator models; and (3) a Security & Governance Layer enforcing irreversible edge sensor root proofs via NIST FIPS 204 (ML-DSA) lattice signatures, Zero-Trust Key Management Infrastructure (ZT-KMI, DOJ 728985-XMN), PHOENIX_BRIDGE / PHOENIX_ROUTER deterministic hardware interlocks, and Human-in-Command (HIC) fiduciary governance. Finally, we present a concrete societal implementation model targeting a 100% renewable Distributed Energy Resource (DER) community microgrid in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, demonstrating sub-cycle frequency/voltage stabilization within < 0.01 s, a 25%–38% reduction in transmission Joule heating losses, and cryptographically verifiable peer-to-peer (P2P) electricity settlement as a blueprint for Global Public Infrastructure (GPI).
