Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach to optimizing Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocols by leveraging the principles of information entropy. The core claim is that information entropy can be effectively utilized to enhance the efficiency of key generation within QKD systems. The proposed method centers on analyzing key performance indicators of existing QKD protocols through the lens of information entropy theory. Subsequently, adjustments to protocol parameters are strategically implemented to maximize information entropy, directly translating into improved key generation rates. The work introduces a framework for quantifying the entropy of various QKD protocols, offering a measurable metric for optimization. We demonstrate, through theoretical analysis, how targeted parameter tuning, guided by entropy maximization, can significantly improve the overall performance of QKD systems. This research contributes to a more efficient and robust design of QKD protocols, ultimately facilitating secure quantum communication.
