Abstract

This paper investigates the potential of Quantum Annealing (QA) to accelerate the solution of complex optimization problems, particularly those encountered in areas like logistics, resource allocation, and chemical synthesis. We propose a novel approach, Quantum-Enhanced Constraint Satisfaction (QCES), which leverages the strengths of QA to efficiently solve optimization problems by integrating it with traditional constraint satisfaction techniques. The core mechanism involves a hybrid algorithm that combines the advantages of both quantum annealing and constraint satisfaction, demonstrating a significant reduction in computational time compared to conventional methods. The paper details the architecture of the QCES system, explores its performance through simulations, and discusses potential future research directions.

Quantum-Enhanced Constraint Satisfaction (QCES)

Jincheng Zhang

Quantum-Enhanced Constraint Satisfaction (QCES) is a novel quantum algorithm designed to accelerate the solution of constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs). The core claim of this research is to develop a quantum algorithm that leverages quantum superposition to efficiently explore the solution space simultaneously, thereby dramatically reducing the search time compared to classical algorithms. This paper details the proposed quantum algorithm, its underlying principles, and preliminary experimental results demonstrating its potential for significant speedups in solving complex CSPs. We present a framework for manipulating quantum states to represent the CSP's state space and employ quantum superposition to test a wider range of potential solutions. The paper concludes with a discussion of the challenges and future directions for this research.
