Quantum-Inspired Kernel Learning for Feature Extraction
Jincheng Zhang
Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to feature extraction utilizing quantum-inspired kernel learning. Traditional kernel methods suffer from significant computational burdens and the need for meticulous kernel parameter tuning. We propose a technique that leverages concepts from quantum mechanics, specifically superposition and interference, to generate kernels capable of efficiently capturing intricate feature relationships within data. Our method dynamically adapts kernel parameters based on data characteristics, offering a more robust and computationally efficient alternative. The core idea is to mimic the probabilistic nature of quantum states to create kernels that explore a wider range of possible feature combinations simultaneously. We demonstrate the potential of this approach through a theoretical framework and outline its key components, highlighting its advantages over conventional kernel learning methods. The primary objective is to reduce the computational complexity associated with kernel learning while maintaining, or even enhancing, the accuracy of feature extraction.
