Quantum Mechanics from Constraint and Closure: A Structural Explanation and Derivational Roadmap

Abstract

Quantum Mechanics from Constraint and Closure: A Structural Explanation and Derivational Roadmap assembles a sequence of ENSO quantum-foundations results into a single explanatory architecture. The paper asks why central structures of quantum mechanics—complex phase, conjugation, quadratic norm, Schrödinger dynamics, spinorial return, Born weighting, and measurement—belong together rather than appearing as an unrelated collection of formal ingredients. The proposed route begins with constraint-bearing distinction and minimal maintained recursion. Within an explicit primitive two-state class, recursive minimality selects the Fibonacci structure and its Perron root ϕ. Exchange completion (symmersion) derives a reciprocal pair, continuity and composability lift that pair to reciprocal flow, and bounded return selects a rotational generator satisfying J2=−I. Constraint-bearing eigenmodes then become phase-readable in Schrödinger form once ℏ supplies the action scale. Reciprocal product and exchange map exactly to quadratic norm and complex conjugation; Euclidean orthogonal composition fixes squared weight; repeatability leads to orthogonal projection; and intrinsic closure supplies the framework for event readability. A new canonical result provides an independent convergence. For a real symplectic system containing a genuinely non-real, non-unit scale-phase eigenmode, reality and symplectic reciprocity force the spectral orbit λ, λ̄, λ⁻¹, λ̄⁻¹ Such a mode is impossible in real symplectic dimension two; four dimensions are minimal. The resulting reciprocal-conjugate quartet contains exactly the reciprocal pairings used in the earlier closure geometry. The accompanying reproducibility archive contains the manuscript source, direct construction validator, adversarial null-test suite, captured outputs, machine-readable results, near-symplectic perturbation diagnostics, exact symbolic audit, validation-run provenance note, and package checksums. All twelve declared null tests pass in both recorded executions. The paper distinguishes completed mathematics, structural derivation, exact representation, and the remaining roadmap toward a fully native reconstruction of quantum theory. Intrinsic Closure and the Reconstruction of Quantum Structure: Reciprocal Geometry, Exact Qubit Events, Quadratic Unity, and the Open Route to Quantum Correlations

Eric Needham

This paper presents a self-contained synthesis of the intrinsic-closure programme in quantum foundations, tracing its development from reciprocal counter-spiral geometry and circular compactification to exact representations of quantum phase, deterministic qubit events, quadratic unity, and a conditional route to quantum correlations. The framework begins with opposed reciprocal branches whose product is invariant and whose geometric mean forms a circle. This geometry provides a real precursor of complex phase, conjugation, and quadratic norm. The Golden Spiral State then gives an exact reciprocal representation of the scalar quantum wavefunction, while explicitly distinguishing structures obtained by exact pullback from those not yet derived natively. At the event level, a deterministic closure map reproduces the Born probabilities exactly throughout the full Bloch ball, including pure and mixed qubit states. The paper also proves that the bare deterministic pushforward layer is universal and can represent classical, quantum, signalling, and Popescu–Rohrlich probability tables alike. Nontrivial restriction must therefore arise from the developed geometric, algebraic, effect, and admissibility structure. A strengthened Quadratic Weight Theorem shows that normalization and Euclidean orthogonal additivity alone force the weight law W(a)=a2W(a)=a^2W(a)=a2, with no additional regularity assumption. For composite systems, the paper introduces Marginal Closure Invariance and Joint Effect Consistency and gives a carefully bounded conditional bridge to the quantum correlation set through the theorem of Barnum, Beigi, Boixo, Elliott, and Wehner. Under the stated local-effect and consistency hypotheses, the construction inherits the Tsirelson bound and excludes the PR box. These composite results remain conditional rather than closure-native. The final sections formulate a structured reconstruction programme: native additive structure, real-linear completion, compact phase action, minimal complex extension, globally aligned phase, native superposition, Euclidean composition, inner product, effect structure, composite closure, Joint Effect Consistency, Marginal Closure Invariance, and direct quantum-correlation bounds. Each result is classified as proved, imported, conditional, interpretive, or open. For further information about the ENSO Framework, please contact Eric Needham:ensotheory1@gmail.com

One Is the Circle: The Geometric Mechanism of Born Closure Reciprocal Spiral Compactification, Quadratic Unity, and Intrinsic Event Admissibility

Eric Needham

This paper presents an exact geometric mechanism for the complex conjugation, quadratic norm, and unity structure underlying Born probability. The paper does not claim a complete derivation of quantum measurement or of the occurrence of one individual outcome. Its central result is an exact geometric mechanism for the conjugation, quadratic weighting, normalization, and orthogonal-closure structure on which the Born rule depends. A supplementary Python script symbolically and numerically verifies seventeen central identities and test cases, including reciprocal invariance, phase compactification, golden calibration, quadratic weighting, projector closure, generalized measurement normalization, interference, and unitary norm preservation. This paper extends the earlier works Counter-Spiral Closure and the Origin of Schrödinger Phase and Adjoining the Missing Square Root: The Imaginary Unit, Prime-Field Extension, and the Dirac Operator as One Quotient Construction. Its relationship to those papers is brought together in the later synthesis, The Square Root Inside the Circle. Related ENSO sequence Needham, E. (2026). From Geometric Closure to Physical Test: An Operational and Falsification Audit of the ENSO Framework

Eric Needham

This record preserves the current working state of From Geometric Closure to Physical Test: An Operational and Falsification Audit of the ENSO Framework. The package contains the 41-page audit paper, the nine ENSO papers included in the audited corpus, their TeX source files and associated validation suites, the complete audit-side script collection, and the reports, ledgers, and supporting outputs generated during the project. The materials are organised so that the internal audit suite can be run from a single folder, while the individual predecessor validators remain available with the papers to which they belong. The purpose of the audit is to distinguish, claim by claim, what is mathematically proved, what is conditionally established within ENSO, what reconstructs standard quantum mechanics, what is numerically supported, what remains an identification, and what is still open to empirical test. The audit reports that the load-bearing mathematical architecture survives separate re-derivation and computational testing within the project. It verifies the reciprocal closure invariant, the canonical reciprocal-phase amplitude map under its stated assumptions, conjugation and quadratic closure, the quadratic-weight result, the binary closure projection theorem, the log-affine edge-closure proposition, the mathematical golden-ratio attractor, and the geometric derivation of the Resolution Gap. The framework also reconstructs twenty standard quantum-mechanical cases and obtains the Born-rule route through a non-circular stochastic argument within an imported Hilbert-space and measurement setting. These results are classified as reconstruction rather than as independent empirical confirmation. The audit also states plainly that the standard quantum-mechanical baseline remains ontologically incomplete, particularly at measurement, and that ENSO’s atemporal intrinsic-closure ontology is therefore being assessed against a framework that does not itself provide a settled account of the transition from propagation to recorded outcome. The present package is an author-side, AI-assisted internal audit and should not be treated as external peer review or independent replication. It is deposited as a working research project rather than as the final completed audit. The current version preserves the research record, publication sequence, scripts, corrections, provenance notes, and claim classifications while further work proceeds on the operational discriminator, the measurement-rate identification, and the empirical conditions under which ENSO may be distinguished from standard continuous-measurement quantum mechanics. The package retains both positive and negative results. The audit-side suite contains no unresolved failures, while a deliberately retained predecessor negative result is preserved rather than removed. The operational frontier remains open: the mathematical and reconstructive architecture is established within its stated premises, but a fully developed and experimentally validated discriminator is the next stage of the research programme. From Constraint to Quantum Branching: A Physical Reciprocal-Asymmetry Bridge to Born Probability

Eric Needham

This record contains a frozen ENSO Framework manuscript examining the relationship between physical constraint, quantum branching, and the structure of Born probability. Using a controlled angular-momentum-resolved quantum system, the paper develops a physical bridge between independently specified constraints and a previously established closure-based representation of normalized outcome structure. Particular attention is given to the distinction between the structure that determines relative outcome weights and the separate temporal scale governing their physical incidence. The work is intended as a foundational and methodological contribution rather than a claim of a new numerical deviation from standard quantum mechanics. The archive includes the manuscript, source material, symbolic validation, validation report, provenance record, and reproducibility documentation. The detailed mathematical construction and derivation are contained only within the archived manuscript and accompanying validation materials. Atemporal Constraint Dependency Fixes the Form of What Closure Instantiates, and That Form Is Quantum (Reciprocal Completion, Achieved Return, and an Operational-Difference Audit of the Route from Distinction to Quantum Phase)

Eric Needham

This paper develops a common mathematical framework connecting four previously developed structures: reciprocal counter-spiral closure, Symmersion, unity-in-motion, and the emergence of quantum phase and Born weighting. It asks whether these apparently distinct constructions can be understood as instances of a single completion structure. The analysis begins with distinction and reciprocal completion, formalised through an exchange involution and a pair algebra with an invariant norm. A fixed completion theorem is then established and instantiated in both the Symmersion and Counter-Spiral constructions without any change of definitions. The paper distinguishes return as inverse, which reciprocal completion already supplies, from achieved return, and shows that the former alone yields only the hyperbolic counter-spiral structure, not the compact, norm-preserving structure associated with quantum phase. Achieved return selects the elliptic/complex case, and is itself forced whenever a positive quadratic unity is preserved through motion. The bridge from reciprocal pairs to complex amplitude is shown to be necessarily multiplicative: additivity cannot cross it without discarding a branch. The paper then examines the role of the golden ratio, showing that although φ arises naturally from the minimal binary recurrence and its reciprocal fixed pair, it is not required by the subsequent quantum mathematical structure. This separates the structural role of φ from the conditions responsible for quantum phase and Born weighting. An Operational-Difference audit ablates every premise against every declared outcome. The resulting architecture, read as a dependency order rather than a temporal sequence, is: distinction → reciprocal completion → reciprocal invariant (hyperbolic) → positive unity preserved through motion → achieved return → elliptic/complex phase → additive resolution → Born weight. None of these constraints is temporal: time enters only as the parameter of an already closed group. The route is therefore a worked instance of atemporal instantiation, in which constraint dependency fixes the form of what closure instantiates, and that form is quantum. The paper concludes that the recurring mathematical structures are best understood not as independent analogies, but as progressively constrained forms of completion. The proposed framework is mathematical and structural; its physical interpretation remains a conjectural extension requiring further testing. The upload includes the LaTeX source, the compiled manuscript, and a deterministic validation script (59 checks). Foundations of Quantum Physics III: The Three-Stratum Derivation of Schrödinger Mechanics Constraint, Return, Phase, and the Embedded Einstein Clock

Eric Needham

This restricted record contains the third paper in the ENSO series Foundations of Quantum Physics. The paper proposes that the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation is not merely a postulated dynamical law, but the necessary phase-readable form of constrained dependency under bounded return, once the embedded rest-energy phase is restored to view. The argument is organised into three strata. Stratum I is the time-independent eigenvalue problem, interpreted as a pre-temporal dependency structure among allowed modes, operators, potentials, and boundary conditions. Stratum II is the phase-readability layer: bounded return selects a rotational generator equivalent to the imaginary unit, allowing an admitted mode to be read as recurring phase. Stratum III is the embedded Einstein layer: for massive particles, the full wavefunction contains the rest-energy phase exp(-imc²t/ℏ), whose factoring-out leaves the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation as the slow-envelope equation. The derivation is framed from two declared inputs: a constraint structure and the action scale ℏ. From these, bounded return forces the imaginary phase generator and the Schrödinger form follows. The paper does not claim to derive the full postulate system of quantum mechanics, including spin, measurement update, identical-particle statistics, or the global complex Hilbert-space composition law. It claims that the central wave-mechanical skeleton of non-relativistic quantum mechanics is structurally recovered. The upload includes a Python validation script checking the two directly testable analytic steps: phase readability and rest-energy factorisation. The closure-selection step J² = -I is validated in the companion script for Foundations of Quantum Physics 1.
