Quantum Finance

Abdullah Al Mamoon

Quantum finance represents an emerging frontier at the intersection of quantum computing and financial technology, offering new approaches to solving complex financial problems that classical computational methods cannot. This chapter examines how quantum computing principles, including superposition and entanglement, can enhance financial modelling, optimisation, and risk analysis. It discusses the application of quantum algorithms to key financial activities, including portfolio optimisation, derivative pricing, fraud detection, and credit risk assessment. The chapter also explores the role of quantum machine learning in improving predictive analytics and decision-making in high-dimensional financial datasets. In addition, the potential of quantum cryptography to strengthen cybersecurity within financial systems is analysed. While the technological capabilities of quantum computing present significant opportunities for innovation and efficiency in financial markets, the chapter highlights important constraints, including hardware limitations, algorithmic maturity, regulatory uncertainty, and the shortage of specialised expertise. The discussion concludes that quantum finance is likely to become a critical component of next-generation financial infrastructure as technological capabilities mature.

Quantum-Driven Finance Revolution Shaping

Mohammad Irfan, Bhanu Pratap Singh

The integration of quantum computing into financial systems marks a transformative leap in risk management, security, and market operations. Unlike classical computing, quantum algorithms can process vast datasets and complex models at unprecedented speeds, enabling real-time risk analytics, rapid fraud detection, and optimized trading strategies. This study explores the emerging field of quantum-driven finance, focusing on its potential to enhance predictive accuracy, reduce systemic vulnerabilities, and accelerate decision-making in volatile markets. Applications such as quantum-enhanced Monte Carlo simulations, quantum machine learning for anomaly detection, and optimization in algorithmic trading are examined alongside challenges in scalability, cybersecurity, and regulatory adaptation. By evaluating current advancements and future prospects, this research highlights quantum computing's role in shaping a secure, intelligent, and high-velocity global financial ecosystem.

Quantum machine learning in finance: A brief review

Anisurrahman, Bashir Alam, Muhammad Hamid

The synergy between quantum computing and machine learning gives future potential in the financial sector. The unique features such as superposition and entanglement in quantum computing are utilized in Quantum Machine Learning (QML) to solve the challenges that dominate the modern era of finance. The subject of this paper explains the use of Quantum Machine Learning (QML) in finance including risk management, portfolio optimization, market trend forecasting, and fraud detection. In portfolio optimization, the aim is to reduce risk at the same time maximizing return, the quantum-enhanced methodology does it better than the classical method. QML is applied for risk analysis because it efficiently computes values such as Value-at-Risk (VaR) and Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR). In finance, improved sentiment analysis, anomaly detection to prevent fraud, and prediction of market trends are enabled with QML algorithms. QML improves credit rating, financial time series forecasting, and derivative pricing with its ability to process large amounts of data.
