Random-field Ising model on a Bethe lattice

Robijn Bruinsma

The ground state of the random-field Ising ferromagnet on a Bethe lattice is found. With decreasing random-field strength an infinite series of spin-flip transitions precedes the onset of ferromagnetism. The $T=0$ critical behavior is not mean-field-like. At finite temperatures a series of Griffiths singularities precedes the phase transition. As $T\ensuremath{\rightarrow}0$, the Griffiths singularities terminate at the spin-flip transitions. The $T\ensuremath{\ne}0$ critical behavior is argued to be mean-field-like.

Critical behavior of a mixed ferrimagnetic ternary alloy on the Bethe lattice

Osman Canko, Bayram Deviren, Mustafa Keskín

The critical behavior of the mixed Ising model of the type AB p C1−p ternary alloy consisting of spins σ = 1/2, S = 1, and m = 3/2 is investigated on the Bethe lattice by using the exact recursion relations. The exact expressions for the magnetizations and magnetic susceptibilities are found, and the thermal behaviors of the magnetizations and susceptibilities are studied. The magnetizations and susceptibilities have also been investigated as functions of the crystal-field interaction or single-ion anisotropy. The phase diagram has been constructed according to which the system always undergoes a second-order phase transition for the coordination number q ≤ 3 and second-and first-order phase transitions for q > 3; hence, the system has a tricritical point. The system also exhibits reentrant behaviors.

The spin‐3/2 Ising model on a two‐layer Bethe lattice with AFM/AFM interactions

Erhan Albayrak, Ali Yigit

Abstract The spin‐3/2 Ising model is studied on a two‐layer Bethe lattice with antiferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic (AFM/AFM) intralayer and either FM or AFM type of interlayer interactions by using the pairwise approach for the coordination numbers q = 3, 4, and 6. In the guidance of the ground‐state phase diagrams, the thermal variations of the magnetizations, susceptibility and specific heat are examined in detail to obtain the critical behaviors of the model. Thus, it was found that the model presents second‐ and first‐order phase transitions; where their lines are combined is a tricritical point. In addition, the model also presents two Néel temperatures, the existence of which leads to the re‐entrant behavior.
