UFFT Paper #75 — The Born Rule from Imprint Statistics and the Entangled Pair State from the Antiunitary Twin Map

Abstract

Paper #45 gave the foam two propagation channels: the wall channel (the face Laplacian L, local, causal) and the void channel (ηV, antipodal, non-local, no signalling). This paper supplies the two pieces of quantum mechanics that the corpus had until now imported rather than derived: the Born rule and the entangled pair state. First, the Born rule is reduced to two structural premises about the void-pair imprint event. Phase-blindness (the imprint probability depends only on a channel's amplitude modulus) and fine-graining additivity (a local refinement of detector channels cannot change coarse probabilities) force p_k = |c_k|² uniquely, by the Cauchy functional equation. Both premises are then discharged in turn. Fine-graining additivity is equivalent to no-signalling, which Paper #45 §8 derives from bulk incompressibility. Phase-blindness follows from substrate stationarity: a channel's phase is a time offset of its carrier, and no threshold functional driven by stationary substrate fluctuations can depend on a time offset; the same argument kills the linear response identically, so the trigger rate is quadratic in the amplitude at leading order. The Born exponent thus traces to two equation-of-state properties of the foam, incompressibility of the bulk and equilibration of the substrate. On a discrete substrate the counting measure is literal: channel k holds exactly N|c_k|² micro-quanta (Parseval). Second, the pair state of a displacement event is derived rather than selected. The twin map Θ = V∘K (antipodal map composed with conjugation, both existing corpus operators) is antiunitary and flips the torsion charge exactly. The pair state Σ_k |k⟩⊗Θ|k⟩ is proved basis-independent if and only if the twin map is antiunitary, which is the operator content of "opposite in every direction simultaneously". The resulting state is unique, maximally entangled, saturates the Tsirelson bound (CHSH = 2√2), carries exactly zero total torsion charge, and is one local unitary from the singlet of Paper #2. Third, the laboratory qubit is unique by symmetry: orientation-averaged observables commute with the cell's O_h action, Schur's lemma confines two-state structure to the two multiplicity-two sectors, the gauge pair is excluded, and the chiral doublet with routing observable C is all that remains. The η-tension between Papers #2 and #45 is also resolved: the void coupling scales the formation probability of entangled pairs (∝ η²) and never the strength of their correlations.

Observation as Simultaneous Emission and Absorption: Deriving the Born Rule, Bell Correlations and the Tsirelson Bound from a Viewing-Angle Readout Rule

Noriaki Kihara

What quantum mechanics calls "observation" has lumped together three interactions of different character: one that switches the discrete state of the partner, one that leaves the partner's state unswitched and shifts only the internal phases, and one that severs the mutual phase relation. This paper places the substance of observation in the second, the readout of the interference of a phase difference, and adopts only three premises. (P1) The distance between two parties is set by the ratio of a shared viewing angle to the partner's size; only ratios are readable and the absolute scale is not. (P2) An interaction is a single relation in which emission and absorption hold simultaneously; the speed of light appears on the readout side as a conversion factor between local clocks. (P3) The phase of a relation carries a harmonic order n that depends on the kind of wave. From these, the fact that a probability is the product of an amplitude and its conjugate (the form of the Born rule), the two-party correlation E = ∓cos nθ, the upper bound 2√2 of the CHSH quantity (the Tsirelson bound), and no-signaling follow in a few lines. The normalization that turns this into a probability is the division that discards the size ratio, i.e. the choice of the η = 0 section. As a consequence, the bound is 2√2 independently of the kind of wave, and the detector angle giving the maximal violation shrinks in proportion to 1/n (45° for spin-½, 22.5° for photons, 11.25° for gravitational waves). For a localized relation that is a sum of harmonics the correlation is the autocorrelation of the pulse shape; the bound holds for any weights, equality is attained only for a single harmonic, and a rectangular pulse reduces to a local hidden-variable model with S ≤ 2. The Full Channel: Deriving the Born Rule, the Tsirelson Bound, Einstein's Equations, and the Cosmological Constant from Capacity Saturation

student_t_vs_bohr

The axiom. Irreducible statistical dependence implies a connecting structure. This is the foundational principle of causal inference, applied without exception—including to quantum entanglement. The variational formulation. The axiom is given mathematical form as a variational principle on bipartite quantum systems. The action S = ∫[i⟨Φ̇|Φ⟩ − ⟨Φ|(K_A + K_B)|Φ⟩]dτ has modular flow as its Euler–Lagrange equation, the local-unitary group U(d_A) × U(d_B) as its symmetry, and the entanglement spectrum as its conserved Noether charges. The local form of this conservation law is the spectral equivalence of reduced modular Hamiltonians, spec(K_A) = spec(K_B), which is the informational analog of Newton's third law; Newton's third law itself is recovered as a special case in the thermal limit. The action is shown to be uniquely determined—not chosen—by six published uniqueness theorems (Schmidt decomposition, Stone–Tomita–Takesaki, Aharonov–Anandan, bipartite splitting, internal-consistency state-preservation via Noether, Ostrogradsky stability). The dependence axiom is therefore not a philosophical commitment but a variational principle of the same kind as those that organize the rest of physics. The central new theorem. For any bipartite pure state, the Holevo capacity of the measurement-induced channel exactly equals the entanglement entropy, the maximum is uniquely achieved by Schmidt-basis measurement, and the excess capacity is identically zero (χ = I = S_E). This Capacity Saturation Theorem is the framework's quantitative foundation and follows from the variational structure. Derivations from saturation: The Born rule—derived as the unique probability rule compatible with capacity saturation, with an independent derivation from channel thermalization. Two distinct paths to the same result. The Tsirelson bound S_CHSH ≤ 2√2 derived as the matching point where simulation cost equals channel capacity. Einstein's field equations via Bisognano–Wichmann and Jacobson's thermodynamic construction, with quantum corrections of order O(exp(−A/16Għ)) from finite thermalization precision. The cosmological constant Λ = 12/(N·Għ·t²_age) ≈ 10⁻¹²¹ in Planck units—within one order of magnitude of the observed value ~10⁻¹²². Uses one observed input (the age of the universe) and the number of massless species; no free parameters. A 120-order-of-magnitude improvement over the QFT prediction. Additional theorems (50+ total): the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy, Hawking temperature, holographic bound, Bekenstein bound, generalized second law, classical area theorem, no-hair theorem, Page curve, firewall paradox resolution, prohibition of closed timelike curves, arrow of time, singularity resolution, two-phase inflation, flatness and horizon problem resolutions, Hubble parameter range, monogamy from information budget, fine-tuning resolution, Reeh–Schlieder, Kochen–Specker contextuality, quantum Zeno effect, no-signaling, CPT theorem, measurement without collapse, second law of entanglement thermodynamics, Landauer bound for entangled systems, vacuum channel capacity, entanglement–energy equivalence. Predictions: S_CHSH temporal decay; decoherence rate ≤ MSS bound; gravitational entanglement bound for BMV-class experiments; entanglement-triggered gravitational collapse; entanglement content of gravitational waves; exponential corrections to black hole entropy. What this paper claims. The paper introduces a variational principle that formalizes the dependence axiom, proves the action is forced (not chosen) by six published uniqueness theorems, derives the entanglement spectrum as a Noether charge, recovers Newton's third law as a special case in the thermal limit, and shows that the resulting framework unifies quantum foundations, quantum information, general relativity, and cosmology under a single organizing principle. The contribution is both new mathematics—most notably the Capacity Saturation Theorem, the variational formulation with its uniqueness chain, and the cosmological constant prediction—and structural unification across results previously developed in disconnected subfields. The framework is presented as a compression of known physics with one falsifiable prediction already passed (Λ to within an order of magnitude, zero free parameters) and several further predictions proposed. No established result in quantum mechanics, general relativity, or quantum information theory is contradicted. Correspondence: student_t_vs_bohr@proton.me

WFS Paper 1: The Born Rule as the Entropy-Uniform Limit of Record Formation: A Falsifiable Measurement Framework

Mark Jason Thurston

The Born rule sits at the heart of quantum mechanics as an unexamined assumption: probabilities are fundamental. For a statistician, that is uncomfortable. Probabilities are tools for describing ignorance — so what, precisely, are we ignorant of? That question leads to a deeper one: what is measurement, really? If measurement is a physical event, something in the world must change when it happens — something records it. WF-S formalises this with two physical inputs and one Lagrangian. Postulate 1 (WF-S kernel): a complex amplitude field φ(x) couples to a real substrate field s(x) via L = Lφ + Ls − g|φ|²s. Postulate 2 (record condition): macroscopic outcomes are weighted by cumulative entropy export σi = ΔSenv,i/kB during record formation. The substrate carries the irreversible imprint of that record. The Schrödinger equation and the Born rule are not independent postulates: they are the same Lagrangian in two regimes, separated by the physical threshold of record formation. The Born rule emerges as the entropy-uniform limit of a more general selection rule — derivable, not assumed. The entropy increments σi are thermodynamic quantities, defined through physical irreversibility independently of any probability assignment. The arrow runs: physical event → thermodynamic σi → outcome weighting → Born rule. The framework makes falsifiable predictions. For two outcome channels, the log-odds shift is ln(P1/P2) = ln(|a1|²/|a2|²) + Δσeff, where Δσeff ≈ εη Δσeng, Δσeng is an independently calibrated entropy contrast and εη is an experimentally bounded suppression factor. Swap-symmetry of the tilt (F1), linear response in engineered entropy contrast (F2), universality of the coarse-graining parameter across platforms (F3), and exact Born recovery in the entropy-uniform limit (F4-F5) are testable on existing platforms independently of the numerical value of εη.This paper is the first in a five-paper series; the substrate framework developed here is extended to forces, gravity, cosmology, and a full information-geometric synthesis in Papers II–V."

The Born Rule as a Closed Record Pair: Measurement, Objectivity, and the Arrow of Time in a Quantum-Error-Correcting Substrate

David Elliman

STATUS (18 October 2026). The physics programme that motivated this work was concluded in October 2026 and its claim of a unified derivation withdrawn. The results in this paper do not depend on that programme and stand as stated. NOTE ON SCOPE (18 October 2026). Where this paper says that the Standard Model's matter content, charges or gauge structure are derived from, forced by or emerge from the eight-bit error-correcting cell, read encoded in or assigned to. The finite results themselves stand: the code, its constraints and the anomaly arithmetic are exact. But two things are premises of the framework, not consequences: the identification of codewords with particles, and the choice of the eight-bit [8,4,4] cell. In particular, the step from read/write balance to a single CSS code is not derived [R22]. The author's October 2026 review of the programme concluded that the framework's Standard-Model content is assigned rather than derived. No observation currently distinguishes the framework's account from the Standard Model itself. This revised note argues that, within the accepted complex quantum-error-correcting record substrate, the quadratic Born form arises from linear record writing, orthogonality of record sectors, and isometric normalization before any probability measure is introduced. Conditional uniqueness is treated separately through Gleason-type and refinement-stable record-sector routes. The 30 August 2026 additivity-audit revision cites Jiaxuan Zhang's analysis of five Born-rule derivations (arXiv:2603.06211) and makes the premise accounting explicit: a Gleason frame function includes orthogonal additivity, while Marko Lela's route begins with a non-negative extensive valuation on disjoint continuation bundles. The closed-record-pair route assumes neither measure-level object, but establishes the quadratic form rather than a standalone uniqueness theorem. The resulting open frontier is to obtain both form and uniqueness without importing measure-level additivity. The paper also records the minimal [8,4,4] record cell and the bare monitored service rate alpha_0 = 1/137, while retaining the deeper reconstruction question as open.

Single-Valuedness of an Internal Phase Yields the Singlet Correlation and the Tsirelson Bound

Abdulsalam Al-Mayahi

Union Dipole Theory postulates two distinct channels of transfer: the particle moves through the permeable medium at a bounded speed, while a disturbance within that medium is stated to propagate at an unbounded one (Al-Mayahi, 2014). This paper asks what that structure implies for correlated pairs, and obtains the singlet joint distribution and the Tsirelson value from a single principle. The principle is single-valuedness of the internal phase — the same condition that produced the phase-closure result of the companion paper. Applied to a pair, it does two things at once. It indexes admissible transitions by integers, so that a shared pair quantum resolves into one channel and not partly into both. And, applied to the two pair channels as degrees of freedom of the medium, it fixes their action integrals, which for a linear medium are proportional to the stored energy. The channel weights are therefore not an added rule about rates: they are what closure gives. One condition supplies both the counting and the quadratic weighting. The consequences follow without further assumption. Writing the pair on its shared internal phase, the two channel amplitudes are 2cos(θ/2)cos φ and −2sin(θ/2)sin φ. Their closed action integrals stand in the ratio cos²(θ/2) to sin²(θ/2); a single shared quantum normalises them; and the correlation is E = −a·b with a CHSH maximum of exactly 2√2. An inversion symmetry then fixes the four joint outcome probabilities uniquely and makes the single-station marginals exactly one half at every angle, so no-signalling holds for the construction and not only for the architecture. Three negative controls are computed rather than asserted, and each is derived in closed form. Extracting outcomes by any local rule gives −(1 − 2θ/π) and |S| = 2 exactly. Sending the indivisible transition to the channel of larger instantaneous drive gives the same linear correlation and the same value 2, and no threshold weight repairs it. Weighting the channels by amplitude rather than by action gives S = 1.657 at the standard settings and, on optimisation over the four settings, exactly 2. All three controls therefore terminate at the Bell bound, and the distance between 2 and 2√2 is attributable to the closure measure and to nothing else in the construction. Two structural results complete the account. The correlation is independent of distance because it is a ratio: any common factor multiplying both channel weights — the inverse-square attenuation of the medium included — cancels identically between numerator and denominator, so the disturbance law is obeyed in full while the correlation does not register it. And a residual anisotropy of the medium leaves every prediction unchanged: perfect anticorrelation at zero angle survives at every order, and the CHSH maximum remains exactly 2√2 on the circular sections of the response ellipsoid. Finally, generalising the channel weighting to an arbitrary exponent shows that the correlation is an ordinary cosine for exactly one value, n = 2, and that the maximal CHSH value is strictly increasing in the exponent and passes through 2√2 at exactly that value. The position of the quantum ceiling is thereby tied to a constitutive property — the quadratic, that is linearly elastic, response of the medium — which is itself what the closure condition selects. The framework is not a local hidden-variable theory, does not evade Bell’s theorem, and lies outside the class the theorem constrains; this is stated as a classification and not as an achievement. What is read rather than derived is named, and what remains open is named: in particular, no dynamical account is given of how the shared medium delivers the single transition to one channel across two separated stations. Two appendices follow. The first compares the predicted angular form with Bell correlations reported on three physically unrelated platforms, spanning CHSH values from 2.07 to 2.71, all of which report the same angular form: strength varies, shape does not. The second sets out a two-coordinate hardware diagnostic which follows from the result and which is the subject of United Kingdom patent application GB 2619873.9, filed 26 August 2026. Theory of Generated Space — Emergent quantum mechanics from the TGP substrate: measurement, Born rule, superposition, entanglement, spin-statistics, and decoherence from a single soliton ODE

Mateusz Serafin

Preprint and supporting numerical material for the TGP emergent-quantum-mechanics paper, a companion to the TGP core paper (Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19670324). Starting from the substrate-field framework fixed by the core paper, we show that quantum mechanics is not fundamental but emergent: measurement, the Born rule, superposition, Bell-type entanglement, spin 1/2, spin-statistics, and decoherence all follow from the self-referential dynamics of the substrate field Φ. Key structural results: (i) ℏ = π·χ·A_tail derived from the scaling symmetry of the soliton ODE, with A(α)=A_0/√α fitted exponent −0.49999 to R²=0.9999999955; (ii) ℏ(Φ)=ℏ_0√(Φ_0/Φ) a position-dependent Planck constant, testable shift Δℏ/ℏ≈−3.5×10⁻¹⁰ near Earth; (iii) Δx·Δp ≥ ℏ from three independent derivations (oscillation period + Nyquist, Fisher information + Cramér-Rao, energy minimisation); (iv) Born rule from measurement asymmetry — detector back-reaction <ΔA_det²> ~ A_part^{2.028} with R²=0.99995, CV=2.3%; (v) CHSH = 2√2 exactly (Tsirelson bound) from a substrate phasor on the topological singlet π_3(S³)=ℤ, with E(a,b)=−cos(a−b) to 3.3×10⁻¹⁶, no-signaling verified; (vi) spin 1/2 from hedgehog-vielbein winding B=1 universal across g_0∈[0.3,0.95], analytic B=2∫_0^1 sin²(πu)du=1; (vii) Fermi-Dirac vs Bose-Einstein statistics from exchange phase (−1)^B, anyons in 2D from π_1(config)=ℤ; (viii) decoherence from three converging channels (ℏ(Φ) damping, non-linear mode mixing, environmental back-reaction) plus quantum Darwinism as geometric tail imprint on the substrate.
