When is anti-holomorphic dependence forced? Exchange non-Hermiticity of one-way transfer kernels and a proposed time-domain test in a recirculating fiber loop
A theoretical and numerical study of when the anti-holomorphic (conjugate-variable) dependence of a two-point transfer kernel is forced by the underlying open-system dynamics rather than removable by gauge, basis, or preparation. For two counter-winding mode ladders coupled unidirectionally (reservoir-engineered, Lindblad-type, per-pair Jordan double-pole structure), the transfer kernel sums to a closed form involving the Lerch transcendent in the product of conjugated coordinates. Reciprocity is shown to be equivalent to the existence of an exchange-Hermitian mirror partner of the kernel; unidirectionality removes that partner. All symbolic claims are certified by exact Wirtinger-derivative computation. A recirculating-fiber-loop implementation and a time-domain protocol are proposed, with noise/imperfection analysis and explicit falsifiability criteria. Version 3, additive over v2 — the boundary arc (Sections 3–5): the kernel's intrinsic boundary at |x| = 1 with its generic-existence statement (the wall belongs to the class; its location is set by the tail of the weights); the chiral phase law of the branch-cut jump (machine-exact ratio, linear drift at rate kappa/2delta, family-independent); the log-periodic interference calendar on the log-scale coordinate, with prior-art positioning against discrete scale invariance (Sornette; Derrida–Itzykson–Luck); the Fourier floor theorem with full proof (the residual relief of large kernel sums equals the window-contrast of the Fourier transform of the weighted winding measure; finite atomic ladders keep the calendar forever by Bohr almost-periodicity, continua forget by Riemann–Lebesgue); closed-form floors (Ci/Si integrals, cardinal sine); and an inverse spectroscopy reading the hidden weighted distribution of winding speeds from the measured relief, with proven limits (exact mirror blindness of modulus-only data; window = aperture). Non-Hermitian point-gap topology references added (Wanjura et al. 2020; Zirnstein et al. 2021). Title-date correction (July 10, 2026). No physical claim is added; all results are machine-verified structural characterizations. Note added at deposit time: subsequent to the sealing of this version, the mirror-blindness limit of the inverse spectroscopy has been lifted by a reference-needle heterodyne protocol (demodulation law, asymmetry law, quadrature recovery of the full complex transform), machine-verified and judge-certified; traces and harnesses are in the public repository below. This Theorem establishes the round-trip transport residual (T − I)_rot = (1/160)A from a second independent derivation route (barrier symmetry B = e^{(π/4)A}Θ acting on an ordered pair of noncommuting generators), confirming and strengthening the T48 result. The barrier symmetry acts by exchange-and-inversion: BPB¹ = −Q, BQB⁻¹ = −P, consistent with T47. One-leg transport is modeled by X_{n→d} = (I + λP)(I + λQ); the return leg by X_{d→n} = (I − λQ)(I − λP). A supporting lemma establishes by explicit second-order expansion that T = X_{d→n}X_{n→d} satisfies: T − I = 2λ²A − 2λ²I + O(λ³) where A = ½[P,Q] is the antisymmetric generator and −2λ²I is an isotropic normalization drift that does not affect relative phase or branch observables. Using P² = Q² = I on the reduced two-state space (supported by T36–T37) and [P,Q] = 2A. Under the one-leg normalization λ² = 1/320 inherited from T8 via T48: (T − I)_rot = (1/160)A That both the T48 near-identity route and the T49 barrier-symmetry route converge on the same residue is structurally significant. Status: First-order cancellation, second-order decomposition, and scalar term analysis solid by direct computation. λ² = 1/320 inherited from T8 via T48, not rederived here. B exchange-and-inversion action on P, Q assumed consistent with T47, explicit derivation from T17 kernel geometry open. P² = Q² = I supported by T36–T37, not independently rederived. Qubit algebra correspondence structural, holds within T36–T37 hypotheses, does not assert the full framework is a quantum theory. Dependencies: T7, T8, T17, T36, T37, T47, T48.
A finitist, relational axiomatization of physics: quantum theory and a relativity sector derived from four axioms about group-valued relations and closure. Contributions to the foundations of quantum mechanics (Born rule derivation, quantum reconstruction, local tomography, complex field selection), the emergence of time and causal structure in discrete networks, discrete Noether theorems, lattice gauge structure, and the Schrödinger equation derived by two independent routes. Every claim is graded in a Claim Ledger; every numerical claim is machine-verified with archived scripts; negative results are reported at full strength. What this paper does The universe is taken to be constituted by relations rather than objects. Stable relations form closures (self-consistent cycles) whose holonomies carry the physical content. Four axioms — primacy of relations (group-valued, edge-borne), closure stability, chirality from order, and observation as bidirectional group exchange — yield, at explicitly graded and conditional levels: Quantum sector Exchange-completeness theorems for finite label groups: abelian at all cycle ranks; non-abelian on the single cycle (Wilson readouts plus class-sum convolutions generate the full matrix algebra); the multi-cycle non-abelian case on the operational-equivalence quotient, with the obstruction completely characterized via class-preserving outer automorphisms — and the quotient's necessity now stratified by the source of word blindness (see New in Version 24.0). The Born rule, proved for finite abelian networks from a strictly weaker relational readout premise (statistics of realizable effects depend only on relational content); non-contextuality has this single source; additivity is basis-relative and declared as such. The Schrödinger equation by two routes of unequal premise grade, maintained side by side: a spectral route — the action operator is a weighted Cayley-graph Laplacian in the Pontryagin dual basis, the derived Gibbs state's unique canonical (modular) flow yields the Schrödinger equation with Hamiltonian equal to the action operator, no continuum limit, zero conjectures consumed, the single non-theorem step one flagged identification; and a Madelung route — physical and mechanism-rich (probability density derived from constraint gaps), valid exactly on the domain of the pseudo-continuity conjecture, with its full premise bill stated (continuity equation, Wallstrom circulation condition, m, V). A dedicated comparison subsection gives the line-by-line premise accounting and the machine-measured agreement region. Complex field selection: ℂ selected over ℝ and ℍ within the GPT comparison class in the covered sectors, with a second independent route from chirality (Frobenius–Schur dichotomy, quaternionic double exclusion); "uniquely selected" expressly not claimed. Positivity as pairing: all five in-text positive-semidefiniteness theorems traced to one mechanism (M = B†B with native factor); the Kraus form and complete positivity derived rather than assumed. The Noether sector on Noether's two theorems exactly: Noether I recovered on the holonomy action (compact Lie realization); Noether II identified as present (Bianchi as horn-filling, Schläfli as its Regge form); selection rules recovered for finite groups; the GNS bridge proved non-vacuously on the full exchange algebra; the sole potential extension — conservation as the kernel of exchange — isolated as a registered conjecture, consumed nowhere. A local–global representation theorem: six generative quantities (closure invariant, flux quantization, Weyl phase, non-abelian Stokes, orientation visibility, terminal normalization) are evaluations of cohomology classes against closed chains — one syntax, six exact machine probes. The gatekeeper no-go theorems registered and discharged: Kochen–Specker (the framework posits no global valuation — outcomes are resolutions of constraint gaps, and basis-relative additivity blocks state-independent variants), Pusey–Barrett–Rudolph (the statistical envelope is over resolutions yet to happen, not values already held; machine witness: identical configuration ensembles with opposite relative phase have opposite statistics), Wallstrom (registered as an explicit input, structurally discharged in the finite-abelian sector), Hegerfeldt (the Lieb–Robinson exponential tail identified as the only claimable front form for the continuum limit), Frauchiger–Renner (cross-agent certainty transfer presupposes kernel-free record transport, exactly what exchange-incompleteness excludes), and no-cloning (inherited in the covered sectors); Conway–Kochen and Colbeck–Renner noted as concordant. Relativity sector Time from finite capacity plus genuine randomness: the staging theorem (Θ(d) dependency depth, unbounded chains via the Moore bound; the quantitative failure law conditionalized on measure-level independence with exact minimal witnesses); the temporal quantum defined combinatorially, no Hamiltonian input. The speed of light grounded in an exact discrete dependency cone (combinatorial, no quantum input), the Lieb–Robinson bound consumed at cross-check grade only; a boost no-go theorem reducing Lorentz invariance to named statistical conditions, with the Collins fine-tuning objection recorded as a gate. The trace-descent theorem group: the growth-history measure forced onto the Mazurkiewicz trace quotient; chain reflection positivity at every depth with completely explicit spectrum. An equation sector of nine verification families (Schrödinger, Dirac, Maxwell/U(1), canonical commutator, Yang–Mills SU(2), Regge calculus, Klein–Gordon, Noether loop, Cartan curvature), where every machine-precision claim is the shadow of a proved backbone lemma — including the factor ½ of H = ½L + V, identified as the Wilson Fourier coefficient fixed by the action theorem. Four experimentally testable predictions, including a discriminating flat-versus-sigmoid visibility protocol. The Standard Model gauge group, ħ, and G remain open, with attack routes registered. How to read Three entry paths are marked in the document. Path A (derivational core): axioms → group structure → Noether sector → least action → Born rule → positivity. Path B (physical mechanisms): constraint propagation → time as determination → wave function as gap envelope → fields. Path C (scope and limits): the Claim Ledger, then Discussion and Open Problems — for the reader who wants to know what is claimed and what is not before reading anything else. The Claim Ledger is the single authoritative register of claim status; wherever body text sounds stronger, the Ledger governs. New in Version 24.0 (Version 23.0 is the immediately preceding public release; this version supersedes the internal V12–V15 and V17–V19 series, whose numbers are not used externally.) Version 24.0 resolves the structure of the multi-cycle non-abelian obstruction — the sector's longest-standing open front — following an external research exchange with three rounds of independent re-verification (fourteen core figures, three commutant instruments implemented independently, exact integer arithmetic on the obstruction side) and two rounds of counter-review that corrected one quantifier on each side: A dichotomy of the multi-cycle obstruction (new remark). Word blindness on multi-cycle networks has two identified sources, jointly covering every tested case, with opposite behaviour as cycle rank grows. Type I (global; graded): a class-preserving outer automorphism yields a commutant element by an argument free of cycle-rank reference; its non-triviality holds at theorem grade for b₁ ≥ d(G) via generating tuples, is monotone in b₁, and the threshold is measured at b_σ = 2 on the tested Wall group (at b₁ = 1 the permutation is the identity — no universal claim is made, and the existence of groups with threshold above 2 is registered open). Type II (local; measured): Out_c trivial but fusion fails on a proper subgroup, the blind pairs sitting in non-generating sectors — the same mechanism that defeats Wilson generation; this blindness heals: on every verified group (A₄, SL(2,3), A₄×ℤ₂) the full commutant collapses to trivial at b₁ = 3 by exact computation on two independently implemented instruments, although word readouts remain blind — the shift primitives separate, above a threshold, and the natural explanation (tuples becoming generating) is refuted by the persistence of blind blocks. Three boundaries at full strength: no exhaustiveness proof (a third source is not excluded); no general healing theorem (the verified groups all heal at 3, cause unidentified); the verified Type II sample is narrow. The quotient proposition restated in stratified form. The operational-equivalence quotient's necessity is now part of the proposition's own statement, in three strata: necessary where Out_c ≠ 1 at every b₁ ≥ b_σ(G), with b_σ ≤ d(G) at theorem grade; one-dimensional at b₁ = 2 on the fusion-type groups (verified cases); trivial at b₁ ≥ 3 on every verified fusion-type group and at every tested b₁ for word-separation-complete groups (a fourteen-group scan of orders ≤ 31 found no third source). Pre-registered validation preceded the restatement: a stratification-exhaustiveness scan (pass), a new-witness search (no new witness in range, downgrade clause applied as pre-registered), and a zero-conflict audit of the three strata against all archived data. The residual open problem is now precisely located. What remains of multi-cycle completeness: the rare Out_c ≠ 1 groups (54 in the exhaustive range through order 96) above their measured thresholds, the low-b₁ fusion stratum, a general healing theorem, and whether a threshold above 2 occurs. The multiplicity-freeness conjecture's mechanism sentence is corrected with the two regimes stated separately (at b₁ = 2 the shifts do not separate — the blind-pair transposition commutes with every primitive, integer-exact — and reduce the commutant to
For two pure states ψ, φ of an n-qubit register, the overlap after a common phase shift, g(θ) = ⟨ψ|e^{iθN}|φ⟩ with N the number operator, is a trigonometric polynomial of degree at most n. When g does not vanish on the circle, its winding number W(ψ, φ), the shift winding of the pair, counts the zeros in the unit disk of the polynomial whose coefficients are the overlaps within each Hamming-weight sector. W is invariant under independent global phases, under common shifts and under every joint unitary that commutes with N. Along a path of pairs it can change only where some common shift makes the two states orthogonal. The sector kernels are blind to W. These kernels are the Fourier coefficients of |g|², measured by swap tests on a shift grid; their diagonal values are the multiple-quantum-coherence intensities of NMR. An antiunitary mirror preserves every kernel and sends W to n − W. Product states: W counts the qubits with h_q + h′_q > 1. Spin-coherent reference: W counts the Majorana stars of the partner's symmetric part beyond a circle of latitude. The kernels are then the Fourier coefficients of the partner's Husimi function on the reference's circle of latitude. Haar-random partner: averaged over the partner, W(ψ, ·) equals the mean excitation number ⟨ψ|N|ψ⟩. For the reference |+⟩^⊗n, its variance is ζ(3/2)/(8√π)·√n to leading order. With one control qubit and copies of the two states, a certified protocol returns W exactly or abstains, using O(n log²n log(n/δ)/ν²) copy pairs. The margin ν is inverse-polynomial exactly for pairs that stay close under every common shift, and exponentially small for random partners. Classically, W is efficiently computable for product, matrix-product and computationally tractable states. Deciding W for circuit-prepared pairs at constant margin is BQP-complete. We claim no quantum advantage. 13 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables. The deposit includes the LaTeX source and a reference implementation in numpy. Its tests cover every theorem, proposition, lemma and corollary, and all figures and numbers are regenerated from a fixed seed.
This is a physics paper, not a mathematics paper: nothing here is proved about the Riemann zeta function, and nothing is claimed beyond what is derived or measured. Modular Entropic Gravity (MEG) derives a projection from its completed vacuum structure to the observable level, whose spectral representation is the previously established transfer identity T₃ = ζ(½+iD). Under that identity the non-trivial zeros acquire a physical reading: they are the deficit of the projection — the frequencies at which transmission fails. This paper turns that reading into a falsifiable physical prediction and tests it under a frozen, pre-registered protocol whose pipeline never evaluates the zeta function. The naive prediction — that an observer's distinguishability metric is the transfer-weighted |ζ|² metric — is shown to be wrong as physics: for Gaussian states restricted to the blocked observable algebra, the Fisher metric involves the inverse restricted covariance, and an ideal observer inverts any invertible channel. The corrected prediction is a noise-limited saturating metric, M_N ≈ |ζ|²/(|ζ|² + N_eff), with quantitative laws attached. In one sentence: the zeros are the only places where a finite-resolution observer cannot undo the projection. The prediction was tested under a frozen protocol (freeze → run → open comparison → interpret) whose pipeline never evaluates the zeta function: the arithmetic enters only through the axiomatic integer ladder. The covariance matrix and probe vector are computed by literal ladder sums, the vacuum weight through its Bessel closed form, and the pole term by direct quadrature. Reference values of ζ' and the zero ordinates enter only at the open-comparison stage, after detection is locked. The honest phrase is "zeta-not-evaluated," not zeta-unrelated: the arithmetic is in the construction, by axiom, and that is the point. Results: six zeros in the swept range [10, 40], six blind detections, zero false positives. The shuffled-ladder control destroys the entire Fisher signal (coherent multiplicative structure is necessary for any transmission). The zero-free damped-ladder control (symbol ζ(1.1+ir), identical zeta-not-evaluated machinery, matched instruments) heals as the noise floor is lowered while the true scars are invariant: 615× discrimination. The pre-registered packet-shift law Δr = −πσ²/4 is confirmed quantitatively at two packet widths, with raw blind centres locking to the zeros within 0.03 at the finest packet — meeting the frozen criterion with no calibration. The deficit is shown to be grading-blind: the boundedly invertible p = 2 deformation (1−2W₂) leaves the zero-channel deficit unchanged while killing the pole condensate, confirming the invariance tier of the spectral dictionary established in the companion paper (doi:10.5281/zenodo.21308830). Verdict: strong positive with one confirmed quantitative lock. No frozen fail condition triggered. A frozen finite-resolution Fisher test recovers the first six Riemann zero scars from the MEG Level-3 ladder observer, with no zeta evaluation in the pipeline, a confirmed packet-shift law, and strong zero-free controls. The verdict is deliberately not inflated: this is severity, not proof. Relation to the spectral tradition: the Hilbert-Pólya programme seeks a quantum system whose emission spectrum is the zeros. This result is of the opposite polarity — in the MEG reading the zeros are an absorption structure. What this paper adds to the absorption tradition is what it has always lacked: an observer. The statement "the zeros are missing spectral lines" becomes a statement about measurement — a finite-resolution observer of a specific, independently constructed physical vacuum demonstrably cannot distinguish states at exactly those frequencies. The accompanying deposit includes the complete frozen protocol document, the reference implementation code, verification scripts, and all data files needed for independent reproduction. Independent reimplementation from the protocol document alone is invited. Keywords: Riemann zeta function, zeros, projection deficit, Fisher information, distinguishability metric, noise-limited observer, frozen protocol, blind detection, absorption spectrum, vacuum entanglement kernel, transfer operator, integer ladder, grading blindness, spectral dictionary, modular entropic gravity
