We demonstrate that when absolute unitary evolution of the wavefunction is enforced alongside the requirement of a single, self-consistent world, the standard quantum measurement problem dissolves. The resulting framework, Relational Retrocausal Quantum Mechanics (RRQM), requires that the state of any system is strictly relational, and that measurement retroactively rewrites the entire history of the wavefunction. By extending RRQM to incorporate Quantum Reference Frames (QRFs) and mapping them onto a doubly non-commutative phase-space matrix algebra, we derive exact continuous causality. We prove that the spatial ([Xµ,Xν] = iθµν) and momentum ([Pµ,Pν] = iBµν) non-commutativities dynamically deform the phase-space integration measure. This rigidity generates localized geometric stress upon measurement, mathematically inducing the non-linear curvature of the Einstein-Hilbert action. Furthermore, we provide a complete, gapless algebraic derivation proving that gravitational binding energy—the classical mass defect—emerges purely from the relational interaction between non-commutative momentum operators, establishing macroscopic gravity as a thermodynamic shadow of retrocausal constraints.

The fundamental incompatibility between the linear, unitary evolution of quantum mechanics and the non-linear, deterministic geometry of General Relativity (GR) suggests a failure in our foundational assumptions regarding continuous spacetime and fixed macroscopic histories. In this paper, we demonstrate that the non-linearity of the Einstein Field Equations (EFE) and the apparent non-unitary collapse of the quantum wavefunction are dual manifestations of a single underlying principle: the preservation of relational algebraic rigidity across scales. We model spacetime usinga zero-dimensional Yang-Mills matrix framework where coordinates are non-commuting operators ([Xµ, Xν] = iθµν). We explicitly show how the failure of ultraviolet (UV) degrees of freedom todecouple—known as UV/IR mixing—dynamically forces the infrared (IR) effective action to adopt the non-linear curvature of the Einstein-Hilbert action. Extending this to Lorentzian signature introduces temporal non-commutativity ([X0, Xi] ̸= 0), which smears the effective propagator and inevitably violates strict time-ordering at the microscopic level. This non-local temporal smearing provides the exact mathematical foundation for Relational Retrocausal Quantum Mechanics(RRQM). Within RRQM, measurement is not a dynamical collapse, but a retroactive boundarycondition imposed upon the path integral, pruning the accessible history of the observer into global consistency. By synthesizing non-commutative geometry with RRQM’s Rewriting Postulate, we show that unitarity is equivalent to diffeomorphism invariance, successfully resolving the Wigner’sFriend paradox, Bell non-locality, and macroscopic superpositions without invoking many-worlds orhidden variables.
The quantum reference frame (QRF) programme has demonstrated that the distinction between superposition and entanglement is observer-dependent: what appears as entanglement from an external perspective may appear as a definite relational state from within a quantum frame. However, QRF has operated primarily in the kinematic and spatial domain, leaving the temporal structure of observation unaddressed and providing no account of why each internal frame experiences definiteness. We propose a synthesis with Relational Retrocausal Quantum Mechanics (RRQM), in which measurement is the retroactive rewriting of an observer’s accessible history. The central result is the entanglement/measurement duality theorem: the temporal frame-change transformation from an external observer to an internal observer maps an entangled description onto a measurement-with-definite-outcome description, and this map is precisely the RRQM rewriting operator acting on history space. We formalize this through the introduction of temporal quantum reference frames (tQRFs), extending QRF from instantaneous Hilbert space into the space of observer-relative histories. The framework resolves Wigner’s friend, Bell correlations, and Schr¨odinger’s cat through a single mechanism: observer-relative temporal frames, each retroactively consistent.
This document provides a technical review and supplemental material for the poster "A Quantum-Cosmological Picture with Operator-Algebraic Relational Frames", which details an operational framework where algebra is taken as a fundamental physical structure, while spacetime, curvature, particles, interactions, propagation, and gauge-like symmetries are derived from mathematical relationships that can be proven to occur by algebraic necessity. The framework is developed from the bottom-up, using unitary quantum-mechanical first principles, and provides a coherent way to incorporate particles into quantum gravity, yielding an elegant structure where all the pieces fit together. The poster proposes an algebraic origin for matter and interaction, which is based on quantum relational frames. Particle-like objects arise as local non-closure defects, while curvature arises from the related failure of local boundary operations to commute. Fermionic sectors, bosonic generators, particle and anti-particle orientation, and propagator behavior are then placed in the same algebraic setting, rather than being added as independent field-theoretic inputs. The poster's framework treats a physical observer or system as a local frame, defined as finite algebraic state with its own internal history. Other possible histories, future alternatives, and non-local systems are represented through the algebra available to that local frame. In this setting, spacetime is not introduced as a pre-existing manifold. Instead, event coordinates are obtained from observables that are shown to map algebraic histories into a local event representation. This gives a route from quantum-histories to special-relativistic distances and then to general-relativistic behavior through the comparison of local event descriptions. Moreover, the quantum measurement problem (QMP) is resolved at the framework's fundamental level of construction by treating the algebra's quantum frames as ensemble of density matrices constructed on recursive branching channels of quantum information, where a sequence of positive-operator-valued measurements (POVM) updates each local state's history. The first purpose of this review is to validate the poster's equations and clarify their significance. The poster is condensed, so several of its central claims require expansion in order to elucidate how the pieces fit together. In particular, the validation focuses on: how the poster's overall equations are constructed and whether the framework is consistent and coherent (Section 1.2); how the poster's local-frame construction supports its particle/signature claims about SU(3) x SU(2) x U(1) gauge symmetry (Section 4.1); and, how its event observables recover the metric distance structure of special and general relativity (Sections 4.2.3 to 4.2.10).The second purpose is to show that the framework's equations lead to several other significant results that form a complete picture. In particular, a generalized form of loop quantum gravity (LQG) is derived (Section 5.9) by passing from algebraic histories to event geometry and then to a dual graph structure of event simplexes. This is significant because the same algebraic framework also supplies matter and propagator structures in that setting, giving a possible first-principles route to fermions, bosonic generators, and propagation within the LQG correspondence. Another important result is the derivation of quadratic quantum gravity (QQG) from the algebra (Sections 3 and 14.9). Because the local curvature operator is represented by a finite commutator, its trace vanishes. As a result, the usual linear curvature scalar is absent at the fundamental algebraic level, and the first nonzero invariant is quadratic in curvature. This gives a curvature-square gravitational functional as a consequence of the operator algebra rather than as an assumed action. Moreover, the review refines the poster's marginal curvature equation (defined within local configuration space) into a reduced curvature (defined as a push-forward into event space) (Section 6.5). This clarifies how the poster's curvature equation should be interpreted and leads to an operator algebraic form for general relativity (Section 12.2). Discussion about black holes (Section 7.1) and their event-space gravitational description (Section 7.2) is provided. The other sections use the operator-algebra framework to study interactions (Sections 2.2 and 9.1); particle-count observables (Section 8); black-hole-like trapping (Section 13.1); anisotropic minimal black-hole support (Section 10.5); and the Green's functions of radiation sectors (Section 13.4). These topics show that the poster's equations are not isolated formulas. They form a unified algebraic framework that can be used to organize several areas of quantum gravity, particle structure, and cosmology from the same starting point. A discussion about how quantum fields (Section 15.1) and particle masses (Section 16.4) may be obtained from the operator algebra is also provided
This work develops the mathematical structure of Relational Retrocausal Quantum Me?chanics (RRQM) beginning from its mother-state formulation. Rather than revisiting the interpretational foundations established in earlier work, we investigate the consequences of treating the mother state as the fundamental object of the theory within a rigged Hilbert space. Starting from the global spectral state, we construct the operator formalism governing spectral evolution and introduce the invariant mass operator as a derived observable acting on the mother state. This naturally leads to an operator formulation of mass expectation values and higher moments, providing a framework in which quantities traditionally regardedas fixed particle parameters emerge from the spectral properties of the underlying state. Building upon this formalism, we investigate the extension of the theory to spinorial wavefunctions, the structure of multiparticle realizations, spectral radiation reaction, and the role of conditional nuclear realizations in observable quantities. We further examine generalized derivative operators and show that their algebra naturally separates into sym?metric and antisymmetric sectors, suggesting a possible geometric interpretation of gravity within the spectral framework.

This note extends the quantum reference-frame framework from charge, time, and position to geometry itself. It studies the consequences of treating spacetime geometry as a quantum variable in exactly solvable models. An observer without access to a superposed geometry register is shown to possess a geometric information deficit: the inaccessible geometry information is quantified by the entropy of the geometry sectors. Conditioning on the geometry register recovers the individual geometric branches exactly, establishing geometry as a quantum reference frame with the same structure as charge, time, and position reference frames. The work studies clocks evolving in superposed gravitational redshifts and derives exact proper-time interference. Different geometric branches generate which-geometry records in the clock, producing decoherence and periodic recoherence according to the same information-transfer structure found throughout the reference-frame framework. The note further investigates the emergence of classical spacetime. Multiple quantum systems coupled to the same geometry register collectively decohere the geometric superposition faster than a single system, while non-universal coupling does not produce the same amplification. This provides an exactly solvable realization of the idea that spacetime classicality can emerge through continuous measurement by matter. Finally, the paper derives the effective energy-product interaction used in gravitationally induced entanglement models. By introducing a dynamical geometry mode sourced by matter energy and eliminating the mediator, the familiar energy-product coupling emerges directly from the quantum geometry model rather than being assumed. The results connect quantum reference frames, proper-time superposition, gravitationally induced decoherence, gravitational entanglement, and the emergence of classical geometry within controlled finite models. The declared limits are finite geometry registers, simplified sourced geometry modes, and no claim of a complete theory of dynamical quantum gravity. Verification and reproducibility materials are included.
