THE DERIVATION OF SCHRÖDINGER'S EQUATION FROM SCALE-EXTENDED GEOMETRY

Abstract

We present a complete derivation of the Schrödinger equation from scale-extendedgeometry. The central claim is that quantum mechanics is not fundamental — it is thelow-energy effective theory obtained by projecting scale-extended dynamics onto theobservable slice ζ=0. The wavefunction Ψ(x,ζ,t) lives in an extended Hilbert space whereζ = ln(E/E0) is the logarithmic energy scale coordinate. The scale Laplacian L_K, withweight K(ζ) = |ψ_KB(ζ)|2 given by the graviton probability density, has a computedground state eigenvalue μ0 = 8.41×10−9. Projecting the scale-extended Schrödingerequation onto this ground state yields the standard Schrödinger equation, with the Born rule emerging from the projection measure K(ζ) rather than being postulated. The near-degenerate pairs in the spectrum (μ2≈μ3, μ4≈μ5, ...) correspond to particle/antiparticle doubling from the odd symmetry of ψ_KB. The action principle is written explicitly.Every algebraic step is shown in full. Full Portolio at: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fdKdo3edGqXVx95IntIumXlzKq22s-yw?usp=drive_link

From Primitives to the Schrödinger Equation

Allen Proxmire

The Schrödinger equation iℏ ∂ₜψ = Ĥψ, with non‑relativistic Hamiltonian Ĥ = ℏ²|p̂|²/(2m) + V(x̂), has been quantum mechanics’s central dynamical statement for nearly a century. It governs atomic spectra, molecular bonding, semiconductors, neutron interferometry, and countless other empirical settings. The question is why it has the form it does. In standard QM, the Schrödinger equation is a postulate. The Hilbert space is given. The momentum operator p̂ = −iℏ∇ is given. The kinetic form |p̂|²/(2m) is inherited directly from classical mechanics — quantum theory simply adopts the classical T = p²/(2m) structure without deeper justification. The first‑order time derivative is chosen because empirically it works. Each piece is accepted because the resulting equation matches experiment. This walkthrough shows how the Event Density framework derives the Schrödinger equation, in its full standard form, from a smaller set of structural commitments about what reality is made of at the substrate level. Every element — the Hilbert space, the momentum operator, linearity, first‑order time structure, the kinetic‑plus‑potential form, the factor of 1/(2m) — emerges as a forced consequence rather than a separate postulate. The derivation runs through Stone’s theorem applied twice — once on spatial translation (forcing p̂ = −iℏ∇) and once on time translation (forcing existence and uniqueness of a self‑adjoint generator with automatic linearity and first‑order structure) — closed by Galilean Lie algebra integration that identifies the time‑translation generator with the kinetic‑plus‑potential operator. The factor of 1/(2m) emerges as the chain‑rule Jacobian of the Galilean commutator [Ĥ, K̂ᵢ] = −iℏ p̂ᵢ, not as a borrowing from classical mechanics. The first‑order time derivative is a consequence of operator exponentials, not a chosen feature.

Schrodinger Equation Dissection

James Carl Ayoub

The Schrödinger equation has been the central mathematical instrument of quantum mechanics for a century. This paper argues that it is not a quantum mechanical equation at all. It is classical energy conservation applied inside a sphere, with a classical wave form assumed rather than derived. The wavefunction ψ is not a physical object but a lossy geometric encoding. The Born rule—the requirement to square ψ to obtain probabilities—is not a law of nature but a decompression artifact produced by discarding the imaginary phase. The Heisenberg uncertainty principle is a measurement limit, not an ontological statement about particles, and its use to derive the Bohr radius is circular. All distances obtained from this framework are ratios pretending to be absolutes in a universe where only ratios persist. Relativistic Orthogonal Selection Theory (ROST) dissolves each of these confusions by returning to the geometric substrate the equation was always implicitly describing.

QM I: Phase Differential Theory and the Emergence of Quantum Mechanics

Graham Fincham, Daniel John Hilton

Phase Differential Theory (PDT) proposes that quantum mechanics emerges as an effective description of a deeper dynamical phase manifold. In this framework, four scalar phase fields define a locked background whose long‑wavelength envelope dynamics reproduce the Schrödinger equation. The Born rule arises as the natural conserved probability density compatible with locality and continuity of phase flow, and measurement is interpreted as phase synchronisation between subsystems rather than wavefunction collapse. This paper develops a controlled derivation of the Schrödinger equation as an envelope approximation, identifies the conserved probability current associated with phase flow, and shows that |ψ|² is the natural density selected by locality, positivity, and conservation. Measurement is modelled as a dynamical locking of relative phase between system and apparatus, yielding discrete outcomes without introducing non‑unitary dynamics at the fundamental level. All results are obtained within a low‑energy, long‑wavelength effective regime. The microscopic equations of motion for the phase manifold are intentionally deferred, as the effective envelope theory presented here is self‑contained and does not require explicit microscopic specification.

Geometric Derivation of Born's Rule and Schrödinger's Equation (From Gradient Indeterminacy Over Extended Regions)

Daniel Avilés Hurtado

We demonstrate that two foundational postulates of quantum mechanics—Born’s rule and Schrödinger’s equation—emerge as geometric theorems when gradient indeterminacy is applied to extended quantum states (superelectrons) over finite regions. Born’s rule (P ∝ |ψ|2 ) follows from the requirement that empirical event distributions must respect the same gradient constraints as the underlying mass-wave density. Schrödinger’s equation emerges as the dynamical condition for maintaining gradient saturation over time. This work extends recent results showing that Heisenberg uncertainty, spin-1/2, and orbital stability all derive from geometric principles. We explicitly identify weak points requiring future development (the geometric factor F (Ω, κ) and the discrete-continuous transition), propose specific paths for strengthening the framework, and explore unexpected connections including the cosmological constant discrepancy, quantum entanglement as shared geometry, and the Hubble tension as evidence of geometry-dependent cosmological parameters.

Derivation of the Schrödinger equation

Spyros Efthimiades

The Schrodinger equation is derived by combining the wave function of a particle, expressed as a superposition of plane-wave states, with the energy relation written in the consistent with quantum mechanics form relating average energy values.

PREPRINT: The Measurement Problem is Geometry A Derivation of the Born Rule, Collapse, Decoherence, and the Preferred Basis from Scale Space

Koenig, Andy, Karma

ABSTRACTThe measurement problem is the longest-standing unresolved foundational issue in quantum mechanics. The Born rule is postulated. Collapse isassumed. Decoherence is explained environmentally but does not produce collapse. The preferred basis is arbitrary. This paper solves the measurement problem using the scale dimension from Geometric Essentialism (Koenig 2026a). The fullwavefunction lives in 5D: spacetime plus scale . The scale measure defines the inner product. Observers are not points but narrow Gaussiansin with width , where s is the brain's alpha rhythm (the "present moment" refresh rate). From these ingredients, we derive:1. The Born rule: (up to normalization) follows from the -weighted inner product and the observer's -localization. Notpostulated.2. Decoherence: When different branches of the wavefunction are separated in by more than the observer's width, the interference term vanishes. Noenvironment needed. Scale geometry does it.3. Collapse: The observer only experiences the branch that overlaps their -slice. Projection is not physical collapse — it's conditional experience. Thefull 5D wavefunction remains unitary.4. Preferred basis: The eigenfunctions of the scale Laplacian (the scaleons) are naturally localized in . Measurements project onto scaleon numberstates.5. The observer's width: . This is derived from the 42 constant: , where Hz is the alpharhythm.6. Why matters: The observer cannot be at because the probability density vanishes there (the graviton node). The observer is offset, and that offset enables the Born rule.7. Consciousness: The ability to maintain coherent -localization at 10 Hz is proposed as the physical substrate of conscious awareness. Theinterthalamic adhesion (ITA) is the candidate resonator. The Mirror Test (ITA version) is a falsifiable prediction. The measurement problem is not a problem. It is geometry.
