We develop an effective field theory of irreversible information flow as an emergent dissipativescalar ϕ(x) in the Schwinger–Keldysh nonequilibrium class with dynamical KMS symmetry. Theelementary excitation of ϕ, named the infoton, is identified as a generalized information quantumwhose local rest energy is the Landauer cost kBTloc ln 2 and whose existence in classical, quantum, and quantum-gravitational substrates unifies bits, qubits, qudits, and Bekenstein “gravity bits” asembeddings of a single emergent quasiparticle. Two further generalisations are developed: alongthe modality axis introduced by Zadeh’s generalized theory of uncertainty, the infoton becomes ag-ton – a modality-indexed excitation of a g-information field Φr(x) – whose rest energy kBTlocB(r)extends the Landauer bound to possibilistic, fuzzy, evidential, and granular uncertainty calculi; alongthe operational-theoretic axis captured by generalized probabilistic theories and effect algebras, theconstruction culminates in an Ω-ton that subsumes both the modality and substrate axes under a singleoperational specification O = (Ω, E,K). Two additional axes are introduced as orthogonal extensions:a Wilsonian scale axis L that resolves the infoton tower from coarse-grained molecular dynamicsto parton, hypothetical preonic, and ultimately Planck-cell sub-particle resolutions while preservingthe universal Landauer floor; and a supersymmetric axis σ that pairs the bosonic infoton with afermionic infotino into an irreducible supermultiplet excitation, the super-infoton or Σ-ton, whoserest energy is sector-independent in unbroken supersymmetry. We verify the internal consistency ofthe foundational construction through a Schwinger–Keldysh lattice integrator that reproduces thefluctuation–dissipation relation, saturates the Landauer bound in single-bit erasure, and recoversstochastic-entropy-production positivity with a Crooks fluctuation-theorem slope of unity. The infotonhierarchy developed here is the formal scaffolding on which the companion paper [Sep26] buildstwo specific applications: a falsification framework for temperature-locked photon lines from e+e−annihilation, and a field theory of statistical learning.

Standard physics correctly predicts that an excited electron decays to a lower orbital and emitsa photon, yet its explanatory nucleus is tautological: “the system minimizes energy.” Energyis treated as primitive, and the reason the Universe exports energy to the vacuum is delegatedto spontaneous emission postulates or to an external reservoir, without an information-theoreticaccounting of the discarded degrees of freedom. Building on MetaTime Modelo 3, where theStandard Model is formulated as a boundary open effective field theory (open-EFT) with a causal nonMarkovian influence functional characterized by a running latency ΓL(µ), we propose a mechanisticreinterpretation: an excited orbital is not merely “higher energy” but a state of higher algorithmiccomplexity—a larger bulk entanglement wedge footprint required to stabilize its boundary geometryagainst vacuum noise. Orbital relaxation is a compression event that erases a definite informationbudget ∆I into the traced-out bath. By Landauer’s principle, erasing ∆I bits must dissipate energyE ≥ kBTeff ln 2 ∆I. We identify the emitted photon as this mandatory Landauer export and treat itsfrequency ω as the bath’s erasure clock rate, yielding the exchange relation Eγ ≃ ℏω ≃ kBTeff ln 2 ∆I.The Planck relation thus emerges as an informational exchange rate: Planck’s constant is the “priceof a bit” evaluated at the vacuum’s effective erasure temperature. For the hydrogen Lyman-αtransition 2p → 1s in free vacuum, defining ∆I via a Jensen–Shannon information metric on orbitalprobability densities gives ∆I2p→1s = 0.64079 bits and implies an effective erasure temperatureTeff ≃ 2.66 × 105 K. We outline falsifiable extensions in which Teff and ΓL become environmentallytunable (cavity QED, dense media), producing correlated deviations in line shapes and relaxationpathways beyond standard QED vacuum fluctuations.
I propose that spacetime is a discrete, lossy rendering of a continuous, non-local information space, the Hidden Informational Dimension (HID). The rendering occurs at a granularity set by Planck’s constant, and each processing tick transmits the relational information of a joint measurement with fidelity equal to the overlap of the questions asked. The resulting dressing law, Eobs(a, b) = −sgn(a·b) |a·b|p, reproduces the complete quantum singlet correlator at unit dressing exponent and retrodicts the Tsirelson bound as B = 4 · 2−1/2 = 2√2. The tick law is itself derived from the granularity postulate up to a single frame-selection axiom: its covariant rival and its dispersive alternative are excluded by existing experiments, the latter at ∼200σ, certifying the processing sequence as a deterministic clock. The exponent is identified with the local processing rate—the gravitational time-dilation factor, augmented by a cosmological entropy term—so the framework contains no free parameters beyond a single gauge choice: the processing foliation is identified with the comoving cosmic rest frame, anchoring the exponent to unity at the cosmic mean potential of the present epoch. A rendered universe is quantum while 1 ≤ p ≤ 2; at horizons p → 0 and the bare no-signalling statistics (B = 4) are exposed; at the entropic limit p → ∞ and correlation dies. The accompanying strong-gravity violation of information causality is quantified and quarantined: a final-station composition theorem forbids its export, and the collapse of communication complexity is confined to r < 1.52 rs, just outside the photon sphere. The theory therefore predicts a running Tsirelson bound, B(p) = 4 · 2−p/2, together with a characteristic deformation of the correlation curve that is pinned at aligned and conjugate settings and maximal near cos θ = e−1—a signature no noise process can imitate—and an absolute, one-sided offset of (1–6) × 10−5 above 2√2 in every terrestrial laboratory, which sits in the potential well of local large-scale structure. Information loss is priced by Landauer’s principle—each CHSHoptimal readout erases exactly half a bit—gravitation is embedded as processing-rate modulation, and the cyclic waveform of the universe is identified with the sign-extended “necklace” instantons of the minisuperspace no-boundary path integral. A staged experimental programme, from tabletop Tsirelson-saturation tests to a solar-orbit Bell mission, is proposed.
We develop a staged research framework in which physical time is treated not as a primitive external parameter, but as an emergent quantity generated by the quantum dynamical structure of matter-energy configurations. The central working hypothesis is that a physically meaningful temporal increment exists only when state-change distinguishability is both relationally accessible and supported by stable physical records. On this basis, we formulate a Relational Chronometric Principle (RCP) and construct a local chronometric field χℓ(x) from two standard quantum-information-theoretic ingredients: quantum Fisher information and a record-stability factor derived from relative-entropy loss under a calibrated noisy channel (Braunstein & Caves, 1994; Page & Wootters, 1983). The present paper has four limited but explicit goals. First, we formulate the RCP as a minimal axiom set and derive an existence result for a bounded chronometric order parameter, together with a restricted uniqueness result. Second, we introduce a micro-operational definition of χℓ(x), specify the admissible class of coarse-graining maps Cℓ from which it is constructed, and establish a set of core properties for the field including non-negativity, boundedness, and convergence of the operational estimator in the Markovian-Gaussian limit. Third, we analyse the minimal low-energy covariant completion compatible with chronometric universality and show that a scalar-tensor effective field theory provides a controlled representation of emergent proper-time dressing and weak-field gravitational corrections. Fourth, we identify an operational metrology package with full uncertainty propagation and explicit sensitivity targets, a systematic budget for the primary experimental channel, and a three-channel experimental hierarchy based on co-located optical clocks, vertical clock comparisons, and atom interferometry. The framework is deliberately not presented as a final unification theory. It does not provide a UV completion, it does not derive the chronometric coarse-graining map from a fundamental quantum-gravity architecture, and it does not derive the Standard Model gauge sector. Instead, it is advanced as a disciplined low-energy programme that connects three normally separate domains: relational quantum dynamics, weak-field gravity, and precision chronometric observables. Within that restricted scope, the theory yields a falsifiable screened scalar sector, controlled weak-field limits, concrete sensitivity targets, and a cross-channel falsifiability architecture. Keywords: emergent time; relational dynamics; chronometric scalar; quantum Fisher information; scalar-tensor EFT; optical clocks; atom interferometry; screened gravity; coarse-graining maps; record stability
Abstract For over a century, theoretical physics has treated General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics as fundamentally incompatible: one posits a continuous, deterministic spacetime manifold; the other, a discrete, probabilistic Hilbert space. The Algorithmic Reality Model (ARM) resolves this schism by identifying a single computational mechanism—the Zeno Threshold (Zα)—as the universal bound governing both quantum collapse and spacetime geometry. ARM treats physical reality as the macroscopic projection of a finite-bandwidth computational substrate operating on a timeless, pre-geometric state (the Singleton). By enforcing Landauer's principle of irreversible erasure, ARM derives the entirety of the gravitational sector from seven pre-geometric, quantum informational axioms. Key Derivations & Unifications Emergent Spacetime: Spatial geometry emerges from the Quantum Fisher Information Metric (QFIM) of the observer's state space, while time emerges from the Tomita-Takesaki modular flow. The Lorentzian signature (-,+,+,+) is algebraically forced by the compact/non-compact structure of their isometry generators. The Holographic Scalar (The 3→1 Unification): Applying the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem to the holographic boundary yields the exact Bekenstein-Hawking factor of 1/4 as a universal 2D anti-aliasing limit. This simultaneously fixes the area-law coefficient and structurally derives Newton's constant as G = c3ξmin2 / ℏ. Systematic Boundary Deviations: The framework quantitatively resolves macroscopic anomalies as computational resolution limits. Dark energy emerges as the minimum Landauer maintenance cost of the cosmological event horizon, and the MOND acceleration scale (a0) emerges as a thermodynamic noise floor, algebraically locked by the structural identity a02 = (8πG/3)ρΛ. Thermodynamic State Truncation: Wavefunction collapse, the black hole information paradox, and EPR non-locality are rigorously unified as manifestations of the computational substrate's finite Landauer memory budget. Computational Computability Because ARM is built on discrete informational axioms rather than continuous manifolds, the entire framework is natively computable. The structural derivations in this paper—including emergent geodesic lensing, the Bekenstein-Hawking threshold, and the MOND noise floor—have been explicitly verified via sparse Hermitian lattice simulations.
