Information-Theoretic Boundaries and Symmetry Breaking: A Universal Principle of Quantum-Classical Transition

Abstract

Convergence Codex — Stage A Capstone Paper Tier: framework | Cascade Level: 4 The fundamental incompleteness theorems of mathematics and the contextuality theorems of quantum mechanics reveal a profound crisis: our most successful theories describe reality through structures that cannot be predetermined or completed. This persistent pattern across domains suggests we have been asking the wrong question. Rather than seeking what reality "is made of," we should ask how its structure emerges. The structural content of physical reality IS determined by information-theoretic compression at dimensional boundaries where global symmetries break to encode local contextual properties. Just as mathematical incompleteness arises at the boundary between formal systems and their meta-theoretic descriptions, and quantum contextuality emerges at the measurement boundary between system and observer, all fundamental structures in physics manifest through compression of global invariances into local, context-dependent information at dimensional transitions. This principle predicts: (1) Every fundamental constant encodes a specific compression ratio between adjacent dimensional descriptions, (2) New particles must emerge at energies corresponding to dimensional boundary transitions where current compression schemes fail, (3) Quantum gravity will require a formalism where spacetime itself emerges as compressed boundary information between higher-dimensional structures. If correct, the search for a "theory of everything" fundamentally misconceives the problem—reality's structure is not fixed but emerges through universal compression principles operating at every scale. Boundary Compression and the Origin of Classical Reality: A Resolution of the Quantum Measurement Problem

Mark E. Mala

Convergence Codex — Stage A Capstone Paper Tier: meta | Cascade Level: 5 The deepest structures of physical reality—from quantum measurement to spacetime geometry—exhibit a profound commonality that has eluded unified description. Across disparate domains, fundamental properties emerge only through measurement contexts, suggesting that reality's architecture operates through principles more fundamental than the specific laws governing each domain. The structural content of physical reality is determined by information-theoretic compression that occurs precisely at dimensional boundaries where global constraints meet local measurement contexts. This compression mechanism manifests wherever higher-dimensional possibilities must be encoded into lower-dimensional observations: quantum states collapsing to measurement outcomes, gauge symmetries breaking to observable forces, and gravitational horizons encoding bulk information on boundaries. If correct, this principle predicts that any sufficiently complex physical system will exhibit maximum information compression at its dimensional boundaries, with the compression ratio determined by the mismatch between global and local degrees of freedom. New phases of matter should emerge at critical compression thresholds. Black hole interiors should contain precisely the information content that saturates their boundary encoding capacity. Most radically, the principle suggests that physical laws themselves emerge from optimal compression schemes at cosmic boundaries—making the universe's fundamental constants consequences of its global encoding constraints rather than arbitrary parameters. Fixed Points of Reality: How Dimensional Reduction Creates Structure at Measurement Boundaries

Mark E. Mala

Convergence Codex — Stage A Capstone Paper Tier: framework | Cascade Level: 3 The measurement problem in quantum mechanics reveals a deeper crisis: we lack a fundamental principle explaining why physical properties emerge only through observation. This absence extends across physics—from quantum contextuality violating predetermined values, to gauge symmetries requiring boundary conditions, to the holographic principle encoding bulk physics on boundaries. Each domain independently discovered that observable structure requires constraint, yet no unifying principle explains this universal pattern. The structural content of physical reality emerges at boundaries where dimensional reduction occurs through the intersection of measurement contexts and symmetry-breaking constraints. Physical properties are not predetermined attributes waiting to be revealed, but arise precisely where different constraint systems meet—whether quantum measurement contexts, gauge fixing conditions, or holographic screens. This boundary emergence is not merely epistemic but ontological: the structure of reality itself forms at these constraint intersections. If correct, this principle predicts that any complete theory of quantum gravity must exhibit explicit boundary-constraint duality, with bulk physics fully determined by boundary constraints. It requires that new phases of matter emerge specifically at constraint-intersection boundaries, and that information paradoxes resolve through proper identification of constraint surfaces. Most fundamentally, it transforms physics from seeking pre-existing properties to understanding how constraint boundaries generate the observable structure of reality itself. The Constraint-Boundary Correspondence: A General Principle for Holographic Encoding and Emergence

Mark E. Mala

Convergence Codex — Stage A Capstone Paper Tier: framework | Cascade Level: 3 **Abstract** The measurement problem in quantum mechanics and the information paradox in black hole physics share a common origin: both arise from attempting to describe physical properties as if they exist independently of the boundaries where they are observed. We establish that the fundamental properties of physical systems emerge through information-theoretic compression at boundaries where global symmetries meet local measurement contexts, with the universe encoding its essential structure on lower-dimensional interfaces between constraint and observation. This principle resolves the apparent conflict between quantum contextuality and classical objectivity by recognizing that properties are not predetermined attributes but rather emerge through the compression of global constraints onto local measurement boundaries. The framework predicts that any sufficiently isolated quantum system will exhibit novel interference patterns when measured across previously unexplored boundary configurations, that black hole information is preserved through boundary encodings that become accessible only during evaporation, and that the dimensionality of physical laws must decrease at extreme scales where boundary compression becomes maximal. If correct, physical reality is not a collection of objects with intrinsic properties but a network of boundaries where universal constraints compress into observable phenomena. The Translation Principle: How One Coherence Manifold Produces Multiple Classical Realities

Jason Smith, Charles Borabon

We demonstrate that quantum and classical physics are not contradictory theories requiring reconciliation. They are different projections of the same relational structure onto incompatible bases. The Translation Principle formalizes this as precise mathematical structure with a two-layer ontology. Layer 0 (Fundamental): The coherence manifold M — coherence-rich, pre-geometric, non-local, fully specified, unitarily evolving. Contains more information than any classical description can represent. Layer 1 (Emergent): Classical projections extracting partial structure — geometric, local by construction, necessarily incomplete. Each projection operator Pi_i maps M onto a reduced representation, selecting a basis and discarding relational degrees of freedom that do not fit the frame. Core results: - Non-commutativity as projection geometry. Two classical views appear incompatible when their projection operators do not commute: [Pi_i, Pi_j] != 0. The order of observation determines the classical reality obtained. Neither projection is wrong — each is partial and order-dependent. - Translation law: mapping between classical descriptions requires manifold reference. Pi_j(M) = T_{i->j}(Pi_i(M)). Direct translation between classical projections is impossible without accessing M — proven formally. This explains why quantum foundations remains puzzling when approached classically. - Loss and surplus maps: every projection trades classical definiteness for discarded relational structure. Loss maps describe which coherence is destroyed; surplus maps describe what becomes measurable. - Measurement problem resolved: measurement does not collapse the manifold. It couples the system to an external channel that enforces a specific projection operator. The manifold evolves unitarily throughout. Definite outcomes emerge from projection stabilization, not collapse. - Wave-particle duality dissolved: one relational structure, two incompatible projections. Pi_wave discards localization, preserves phase. Pi_particle discards phase, preserves localization. Complementarity becomes projection non-commutativity. - Entanglement resolved: entangled systems share a single coherence manifold. Spatial separation appears only after projection into classical coordinates. No signal propagates — shared relational structure persists. Non-locality is projection artifact. - Preferred basis explained: position dominates classical reality because it minimizes correction cost under environmental coupling. Not fundamental — cheapest to maintain. Systems that actively protect coherence (superconductors, lasers, BEC) temporarily flip the preferred basis. - Pointer states explained: not selected by environment as special rule. They survive because everything else is too expensive to maintain. Formation attractors with lowest D:C ratio. - Four testable predictions: projection reversibility (confirmed by quantum eraser experiments), basis cost hierarchy (consistent with decoherence measurements), manifold coherence detection in macroscopic systems, and translation operator universality across physical domains. - Relationship to quantum interpretations: Copenhagen partially correct (measurement matters, but no collapse needed), Many-worlds unnecessary (single manifold with multiple projections, no branching), Bohmian mechanics replaced (explicit manifold structure operating non-classically), QBism grounded (quantum states as projection operators, not pure subjectivity). Provides ontological foundation for the entire coherence framework: Coherence-Gated Formation describes when projections stabilize, Coherence Propagation Constant governs how long they persist, and the RMAxt gradient equation provides the mathematical backbone connecting all three. Part of the Coherence Institute publication sequence (Track B9). This paper answers the foundational question: what is being projected? The answer — coherence manifolds containing full relational structure — grounds all subsequent physics in the framework.

Paper 42 — Generative Law: Limits of Entanglement Scalability

Mortaza Zabihi

Entanglement is commonly treated as a uniquely quantum resource whose limitations are attributed to environmental disturbance, system size, or decoherence. Such explanations, however, fail to identify a principled boundary between quantum and classical behavior. This paper proposes a different account: entanglement does not break down because systems become larger, but because the laws required to sustain entanglement become too complex to remain isolated and enforceable. Within the Generative Law framework, entanglement is reinterpreted as the enforcement of a single admissible law across multiple entities. Scaling entanglement therefore corresponds to scaling a global law under increasing constraint density. We show that this scaling encounters a fundamental limit: beyond a certain complexity threshold, admissibility constraints proliferate faster than they can be coherently maintained, leading to inevitable law leakage and the emergence of classical behavior. This analysis reframes the quantum–classical boundary as a law-complexity threshold rather than an ontological divide. Classicality appears not as a distinct regime of reality, but as the natural outcome of failed global law enforcement under complexity growth. No appeal to wavefunction realism, collapse postulates, or observer-dependent ontology is required. This article is part of a broader theoretical program investigating the emergence of spacetime, geometry, and physical structure from the ψ–Θ–χ continuum. Quantum Creation Regulation Theory: The Quantum Structure as an Intermediate Layer Linking the Future-Causal Information Field and 3D Manifestation

小川, 悠斗

This paper proposes a new theoretical framework in which quantum phenomena are reinterpreted not as indeterministic fluctuations, but as the foundational protocol that permits creation itself. Within the structure of Future Convergence Theory (FCT), quantum uncertainty is defined as the degree of freedom allowed by the future fixed point—an attractor that determines how physical reality converges from future‐dependent informational structures. In this view, superposition represents a high-freedom pre-creative state, and wavefunction collapse corresponds to the convergence of possibilities toward the future causal boundary defined by Λ(T). Furthermore, the paper formalizes the relationship between the four-dimensional informational field and the three-dimensional manifested universe, treating the latter as a compressed projection of higher-order meaning structures. By reframing quantum mechanics as a creation-enabling layer of the universe rather than a probabilistic anomaly, this work provides a unified causal architecture that connects quantum theory, information physics, and the emergence of physical reality.
