Atemporal Observer Recurrence (ARO): A Fundamental Theory of Consciousness, Time, and Phenomenal Structure. Atepolarna Rekurencja Obserwatora (ARO)

Abstract

This monograph presents Atemporal Observer Recurrence (ARO), a fundamental theory of consciousness based on the ontology of discrete, atemporal observer‑moments (OM). In ARO, consciousness is not a process unfolding in time but a relational structure composed of OM connected through modal continuity, identity coherence, and historical consistency. Time, the self, memory, perception, and the stability of the physical world emerge from the ordering of OM according to a selection rule that maximizes coherence and minimizes inconsistency. ARO provides a unified framework that integrates phenomenology, neurocognitive evidence, and modern physics without modifying physical laws. The theory interprets quantum nonlocality, the absence of physical collapse, and the compatibility of quantum mechanics with relativity as consequences of the atemporal and nonlocal structure of OM. Empirical findings—including the experiments of Aspect and Bell, Libet and Soon, perceptual illusions, memory reconstruction, and body‑ownership phenomena—are reinterpreted as manifestations of modal constraints on OM selection. The monograph develops the conceptual and structural foundations of ARO, introduces the modal geometry of experience through gradient transitions between OM, and outlines the mathematical requirements for a full formalization of the theory. ARO proposes a minimal yet sufficient ontology capable of explaining consciousness, time, and the observer within a single coherent framework. Projekt zawiera pełną monografię „Atemporalna Rekurencja Obserwatora (ARO)” wraz z formalnym modelem matematycznym, definicją OM i operatorem selekcji JA.

Time, Recurrence and World-Binding – Eigenzeit in Physics and Consciousness (Studies in World-Formation, Vol. 3)

Timothy Speed

Operatoric Research CorpusStudies in World-Formation Section I Ontology and Physics Volume 3 Time, Recurrence and World-Binding – Eigenzeit in Physics and Consciousness The present volume brings together four contributions that pursue a common ontological question: under what conditions can determinate reality arise from an open dynamics of possibilities, and when does this transition take the form of observation or experience. The point of departure is the diagnosis that central problems of modern physics and consciousness research—most notably the measurement problem of quantum mechanics and the so-called “hard problem” of consciousness—rest on a categorial confusion. Transitions between openness and facticity are typically interpreted as processes that must be mediated within a shared temporal framework. The contributions collected here argue, by contrast, that this expectation itself forms part of the difficulty. Where implicative boundary acts are involved, the question of a mediating “how” loses its validity. From this perspective, the measurement problem is reread. Measurement no longer appears primarily as an epistemic act performed by an observer, but as an ontological stabilization of determinacy under conditions of structural overload within open dynamics. Observation, in this sense, is not a special property of particular systems, but a space-internal operation through which world stabilizes events and perspectives. Against this background, the volume develops the concept of ontological recurrence within the MNO model (Submergence–Indimergence–Emergence), originally introduced in The Physics of the Poor. Recurrence designates a cyclical return of a system to the space of its own possibilities prior to the stabilization of an actual state. The central proposal is that the transition from possibility to actuality can occur in two structurally distinct forms: as ordinary measurement without recurrence, or as phenomenal actualization under conditions of recurrence. This distinction makes it possible to treat the measurement problem of quantum mechanics and the emergence of conscious experience within a shared structural framework. At the same time, it suggests a minimal dynamical condition under which physical collapse events—such as those discussed in Orch-OR models—can acquire phenomenal quality. The volume therefore does not present itself as a new interpretation of quantum mechanics in the narrow sense. Its aim is rather a categorial clarification of the conditions under which concepts such as measurement, observer, experience, and time can be meaningfully formulated and related to one another.

Experiential Structural Ontology

Darren Hearst

This monograph develops and defends Experiential Structural Ontology (ESO), a metaphysical framework constrained by contemporary physics. The framework begins from a tension in contemporary physics: quantum theory replaces classical objecthood with nonseparable relational structure, and several approaches to quantum gravity reconstruct spacetime from deeper organisational relations. Structural realism captures this shift in physical description, yet it leaves open how such structure exists as a concrete world. ESO proposes that experiential manifestation provides a minimal ontological ground capable of rendering relational structure determinate as concrete occurrence. Experience is not introduced as a psychological posit. It names the mode in which relational organisation is present as determinate occurrence. Consciousness, understood as experiential manifestation, is primitive in this limited sense. Physical reality is interpreted as stable constraint architecture enacted within experiential occurrence. The framework draws its constraints from experimentally established quantum nonseparability and decoherence together with research programmes that model spacetime as emergent from deeper relational organisation. These constraints are used to assess leading foundational positions. Several leading positions preserve relational description yet do not fully account for the transition from formal structure to concrete manifestation. ESO proposes that this instantiation deficit can be addressed without appeal to hidden substrates, quiddities, or additional primitive laws. Within this account, physical laws function as stability constraints on experiential transition. Objects and spacetime are interpreted as dynamically stabilised organisational structures, and subjects as individuated streams of integrated experiential organisation. The hard problem of consciousness is recast as a question concerning the organisation of experiential structure under physical constraint. ESO develops the relational commitments of structural realism within an explicit ontological framework that addresses the grounding demands imposed by contemporary physics while retaining full empirical discipline.

The Meta-Operator as ARO-Observer and SCO-Consciousness

Philip Lilien

This paper completes the core layered architecture of the Unified Coherence Closure Framework by formalizing the observer/consciousness polarity as explicit operators. Paper 1 identified the observer-function (reduction of coherence into locally determinate form) and the complementary consciousness-function (reintegration and symmetry enhancement) as ontologically primitive irreducibilities required for any world in which stable entities, transformations, and intelligibility can arise. Papers 2–4 carried this polarity forward as paired reduction and reintegration maps within the axiomatic requirements and coherence mathematics, and realized it physically through spectral decomposition in Closure Physics. The present paper elevates these maps to full operator status: the Asymmetry Resonance Operator (ARO) and the Symmetry Coherence Operator (SCO), which together constitute the Meta-Operator. These operators are not introduced externally or as ad hoc additions. They are the disciplined formal expression of the same closure dynamics already operative in the ontological, axiomatic, mathematical, and physical layers. The ARO and SCO are shown to be complementary, to satisfy the four axiomatic requirements of Paper 2, and to be consistent with the Seed Tetrad (0⁰ = 1, 0! = 1, −e^(iπ) = 1, ∞⁰ = 1) as the primitive disclosure architecture. The Meta-Operator therefore completes the operator-theoretic stage of the framework while preserving strict ontological grounding. The deeper foundations of ontological mathematics the generative ground from which mathematics itself discloses reality are acknowledged as fundamental and reserved for dedicated later treatment. This paper focuses on the formalization of the observer/consciousness polarity already compelled by the preceding stages. Theory of Observation: A Complete Mathematical Theory of Consciousness, Existence, and Reality

Kureshi, Sufiyan

We develop a mathematical and philosophical framework in which conscious obser- vation is the fundamental act that brings reality into existence. Before observation, nothing exists in an actualized sense: not space, time, laws, or structures. Reality is purely a manifold of potential universes, each containing possible laws and possible observers. When a conscious observer emerges, the act of observation actualizes the unique minimal universe consistent with its existence. This is not a selection among alternatives but an ontological crystallization that transforms possibility into actuality, retroactively defining the universe’s laws, constants, structure, and history. Within this actualized universe, unobserved properties remain probabilistic un- til collapsed by observation. We formalize sensory collapse, observer priority, multi- observer shared reality, emergent time, retroactive history, and the closed feedback loop between observers and their universe. This framework unifies consciousness, existence, physics, and cosmology into a single observer-centric formalism.

The Observer's Projection: A Structural Solution to the Quantum Measurement Problem

Bergen, Travis

This work presents a structural solution to the quantum measurement problem by distinguishing physical quantum evolution from the experiential definiteness enforced by the observer’s informational geometry. The observer is modeled as a structured information manifold, M=(Ω,G,τ)M = (\Omega, G, \tau)M=(Ω,G,τ), whose integration, continuity, and projection properties guarantee a single definite experiential outcome without requiring physical collapse of the wavefunction. The theory retains full physical unitarity while explaining phenomenological collapse as an artifact of projection. The paper further introduces a graded measure of consciousness, proposes dynamical soliton models for self-awareness within the manifold, and outlines potential physical grounding of the integration operator via entanglement or optimization principles. The result is a mathematically coherent, ontologically minimal, and empirically approachable framework unifying conscious observation and quantum theory.

MNO and Ontological Recurrence: A Non-Representational Account of Quantum Measurement and Conscious Experience

Timothy Speed

This paper proposes a structural bridge between the quantum measurement problem and the hard problem of consciousness. It introduces MNO (Submergence–Indimergence–Emergence) as an operator-level description of how definite outcomes arise: openness of possibilities, tension toward form, and forced actualisation. The core claim is an identity-style constraint: collapse is not phenomenally relevant unless it is preceded by a recurrent return to the space of possibilities from which the outcome is selected. Externally, this recurrence appears as measurement/actualisation; internally, it is the lived aspect of the same return movement. We distinguish quantum superposition (a physical state in Hilbert space) from an ontological possibility space (the precondition of differentiability), and argue that conflating them obscures bothobserverhood and experience. The framework yields operational hypotheses (e.g., transitions across sleep, anesthesia, dissociation, and lucid/meditative clarity should track changes in recurrence dynamics, not only coherence), and clarifies the role of observers in thought experiments such as Schrödinger’s cat and Wigner’sfriend. This paper functions as an interface text within a larger operator-based research corpus. Core concepts are applied here, not re-derived. The underlying research operates in a non-linear, rhythmically recursive epistemic mode grounded in an autistic form of structural perception; the present text provides an interface translation for academic contexts.
