The Void Channel: H = L + ηV and the Boson-Fermion Parity of the Truncated Octahedron

Abstract

The Axiom Zero decomposition B + V = D (Bubble + Void = Displacement) is shown to map directly onto a two-channel lattice Hamiltonian H = L + η(I − V), where L is the face Laplacian (wall-mediated propagation) and V is the antipodal partner-face map (void-mediated correlation). The bubble propagates on the walls at speed c. The void appears instantaneously on the antipodal face through the incompressible bulk, with coupling η = exp(−d_bulk). The antipodal map V is an involution (V² = I) whose eigenvalues partition the face representation into even (+1) and odd (−1) sectors. The partition aligns exactly with the boson/fermion distinction: A₁g (photon), Eg (weak bosons), and T₂g (gluons) are EVEN; T₁u (fermion generations) and A₂u (Higgs) are ODD. In the operative (I − V) form the void term annihilates the even sector at the zone centre and shifts the odd sector by 2η there; at the zone face-centres and corner the single-cell odd eigenvalues are exact for any η (void-protection theorem). The earlier statement that odd modes are pushed down and that this reinforces symmetry breaking is withdrawn in v3.0. The combined propagator G(j,i;t) = ⟨j|exp(−Ht)|i⟩ sums over two kinds of paths: wall walks through shared edges (36 channels, local, causal, giving QFT) and void jumps through the bulk (7 antipodal pairs, non-local, acausal, giving entanglement). The complete path integral is the sum over both. The void coupling is taken from the bulk geometry (Tier 2, physically motivated form): η_sq = exp(−2√2) = 0.059 for sq-sq pairs and η_hx = exp(−√6) = 0.086 for hx-hx pairs. The void corrections are O(η) ≈ 6−9%, consistent with known sub-leading corrections to the coupling constants. The trace of L is 72; the void term adds 2η per odd mode at the zone centre and nothing at the protected points. v3.0 (October 2026): sign of the void term corrected to the L + η(I − V) form used by every lattice verification script; the claim that the void correction improves the Higgs-to-Z mass ratio from 0.14% to 0.06% is withdrawn (arithmetic error, and the A₂u level is void-protected); the void-protection theorem is recorded in §4.3; the SSB statement is revised.

Void Network Geometry and Bell Non-Locality: Withdrawal of the c√(3/2) Propagation Speed

Luke Martin

Version 1.0 of this record claimed that the octahedral-void network of the BCC Planck foam has nearest-neighbour spacing shorter than the bubble spacing, and that voids therefore propagate at c_V = c√(3/2) ≈ 1.22c, supplying a finite-speed mechanism for Bell non-locality. That result is withdrawn. Two errors are identified. First, the void spacing is wrong: BCC has three octahedral holes per lattice site, at the face centres and the edge midpoints of the conventional cube, and the nearest-neighbour spacing of the full void network is a/2, not a/√2. Second, the speed ratio is inverted: with a common hop time a shorter hop is slower, not faster. The propagation front of each network is computed exactly (support function of the hop set, confirmed by breadth-first search). Under a common hop time the void front never exceeds the bubble front in any direction (ratio 1 along ⟨100⟩, 1/2 along ⟨110⟩, 1/3 along ⟨111⟩); under a common hop speed both networks reach exactly c in their fastest direction. No model yields a ratio above 1. Independently, any finite influence speed is excluded: experiment bounds such a speed above roughly 10⁴ c (Salart et al. 2008), and Bancal et al. (2012) prove that every finite-speed influence model permits superluminal signalling, so "the void carries no information" cannot rescue a finite c_V. The surviving content is the lattice geometry of the two networks. The mechanism of Bell correlations in UFFT is the one already published in Paper #45 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19307111): the void channel of H = L + ηV is the antipodal map through the incompressible bulk, with no propagation and no speed, and no-signalling follows from incompressibility. The pair state is derived in Paper #75 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21323993). Changes in this version: title changed to state the withdrawal; abstract rewritten, with the v1.0 abstract reproduced in §1 for the record; §2 geometry corrected (all six octahedral sites per cube, d_V = a/2); §3 replaces the speed ratio with the propagation-front theorem and computed table; §4 added (exclusion of any finite influence speed); §5 withdrawn and replaced by a pointer to Papers #45 and #75; verification script verify_void_network_speed_2026-10-05.py added. UFFT Paper #75 — The Born Rule from Imprint Statistics and the Entangled Pair State from the Antiunitary Twin Map

Luke Martin

Paper #45 gave the foam two propagation channels: the wall channel (the face Laplacian L, local, causal) and the void channel (ηV, antipodal, non-local, no signalling). This paper supplies the two pieces of quantum mechanics that the corpus had until now imported rather than derived: the Born rule and the entangled pair state. First, the Born rule is reduced to two structural premises about the void-pair imprint event. Phase-blindness (the imprint probability depends only on a channel's amplitude modulus) and fine-graining additivity (a local refinement of detector channels cannot change coarse probabilities) force p_k = |c_k|² uniquely, by the Cauchy functional equation. Both premises are then discharged in turn. Fine-graining additivity is equivalent to no-signalling, which Paper #45 §8 derives from bulk incompressibility. Phase-blindness follows from substrate stationarity: a channel's phase is a time offset of its carrier, and no threshold functional driven by stationary substrate fluctuations can depend on a time offset; the same argument kills the linear response identically, so the trigger rate is quadratic in the amplitude at leading order. The Born exponent thus traces to two equation-of-state properties of the foam, incompressibility of the bulk and equilibration of the substrate. On a discrete substrate the counting measure is literal: channel k holds exactly N|c_k|² micro-quanta (Parseval). Second, the pair state of a displacement event is derived rather than selected. The twin map Θ = V∘K (antipodal map composed with conjugation, both existing corpus operators) is antiunitary and flips the torsion charge exactly. The pair state Σ_k |k⟩⊗Θ|k⟩ is proved basis-independent if and only if the twin map is antiunitary, which is the operator content of "opposite in every direction simultaneously". The resulting state is unique, maximally entangled, saturates the Tsirelson bound (CHSH = 2√2), carries exactly zero total torsion charge, and is one local unitary from the singlet of Paper #2. Third, the laboratory qubit is unique by symmetry: orientation-averaged observables commute with the cell's O_h action, Schur's lemma confines two-state structure to the two multiplicity-two sectors, the gauge pair is excluded, and the chiral doublet with routing observable C is all that remains. The η-tension between Papers #2 and #45 is also resolved: the void coupling scales the formation probability of entangled pairs (∝ η²) and never the strength of their correlations.

The Offset Belongs to the Boundary: the trace split of the entanglement Hamiltonian, a measured Clausius region, and an offset with no bulk

Jeromie Beasley

For a region of a free-fermion ground state the entanglement Hamiltonian K_A = log[(1 - C_A) C_A^-1] splits into a part proportional to the identity and a trace-free remainder. The identity part shifts every level rigidly, so every observable built from level differences is blind to it. This paper is about that part. It is not a bulk quantity. The block carries one ladder per entangling cut, the trace is the difference of the two cut-phase charges, and on the exactly dimerised chain with a single cut carrying the whole charge it has the closed form 2 artanh(v / sqrt(v^2 + t^2)), derived in one line and measured to 10^-11. In exact arithmetic the trace is a definite number: zero to thirty-three digits when the two cut phases agree, and 0.786153199019314523 when they do not. The apparent divergence reported in earlier work was double-precision truncation of a finite sum, and is retired here. Along the two lines through the Rice-Mele plane where the half-line entanglement Hamiltonian is known in closed form, it is proportional to the Bisognano-Wichmann deformation T = (1/2){X, H} with no additive constant, and the ladder spacing and phase are fixed by the literature. Between those lines the commuting operator survives, measured at 10^-13 against controls that fail at 1.5 and 29, but the proportionality does not: the level map acquires an intercept b that is zero to 3 x 10^-9 on both lines and of order 10^-1 in the interior, and is identical whether the region has one entangling cut or two. That intercept is the measured failure of exact Bisognano-Wichmann proportionality. At first order in the staggering v the intercept is derived rather than fitted. The symbol's determinant is det(z - P) = z(z - 1) independently of momentum, so the factorisation is canonical everywhere; its logarithm is affine in an involution R = H/E with R^2 = I; the abelian Szego-type boundary functional is identically even in v and therefore cannot carry an odd intercept; and the first-order piece follows from the chiral zero mode of the dimerised chain, whose amplitudes are (-r)^j C(2j,j) 4^-j in closed form. The result is b/v = 2(E' - K')/(1 - r^2) + K', K' = K(1 - r^2), E' = E(1 - r^2), r = t1/t2, whose expansion in the modulus u is, in exact rationals, h(u)/(pi/8) = 1 - (5/8) u^2 - (9/64) u^4 - (65/1024) u^6 - (595/16384) u^8 - ... So pi/8, -5/8 and -9/64 are consequences rather than recognitions, and the natural elliptic candidate [9E - K]/16 - pi/8 is excluded by 7.7 percent on the first coefficient it does not get to choose. The closed form agrees with direct measurement extrapolated to v -> 0 by two to three orders better than the fitted series it replaces; a previously reported u^6 coefficient of -0.0648 is corrected here to -65/1024 and identified as truncation. The trace-free half is treated in parallel. A Clausius relation with a single temperature holds exactly when that half is proportional to the region's own Hamiltonian. At a ground state it never is, and the measured temperature is zero, which is correct rather than a failure. In a thermal state the same instrument returns 1/beta to five significant figures, and the boundary of the region where it does so collapses onto two dimensionless ratios. Two further results are included. The offset vanishes when the two cuts sit at the same phase in the unit cell, without requiring chirality, time reversal, inversion or cleanliness, and a mirror-symmetrised disordered chain gives a larger offset than its unsymmetrised control, which rules reflection out as the mechanism. And in two dimensions the offset is exactly additive along the boundary for a transverse coupling proportional to the identity in sublattice space, for a reason short enough to state, with a derived crossing past which additivity fails and a sigma_z coupling that breaks it smoothly. Every claim carries one of four grades: [T] proven here, [V] computationally verified with stated controls and a stated failure mode, [C] imported from the cited literature, [H] interpretation. The two exact lines, the commuting deformation, the boundary-locality of the entanglement spectrum, and the first law of entanglement entropy are not this work's and are used as given. Sixteen retired claims, including two withdrawn from earlier versions of this manuscript, are listed with the measurement that killed each. Complement-Paired Bulk-Mediated Phase Holonomy and Forced Middle-Projector Structure in the Fibre Transport Architecture on Q5

Craig Edwin Holdway

We study the complement-paired bulk-mediated extension of the fibre transport architecture arising from the closure-parity and fibrewise effective dynamics framework on the five-dimensional hypercube Q5Q_5Q5. Starting from the single-fibre defect generator, we pass to a parity-adapted basis in which the dynamics separates into independent transport and asymmetry phase planes. We prove that in a complement-paired reduction with shared bulk mediation, crossing compatibility forces a strict separation between the transport and asymmetry sectors. On the crossing-even transport plane, we show that nontrivial bulk-mediated coupling together with preservation of an exact inherited transport rotor forces the effective correction to be nonzero, singular, symmetric, and rank one. A direct matrix argument then establishes that the inherited rotor condition is equivalent to annihilation of the endpoint line, uniquely forcing the correction to take the form A=ρ ∣M+⟩⟨M+∣A = \rho\,|M_+\rangle\langle M_+|A=ρ∣M+⟩⟨M+∣. We further show that this structure is perturbatively rigid: the middle-projector branch is the unique infinitesimal deformation preserving the inherited transport channel. The paired transport holonomy then decomposes into a protected channel with exact inherited phase e±iηpe^{\pm i\eta p}e±iηp and a bulk-dressed complementary channel. The resulting spectral mismatch defines an exact relative phase defect Δφ(τ)=4βτ2(p−p2−4a2),\Delta\varphi(\tau) = 4\beta\tau^2\bigl(p - \sqrt{p^2 - 4a^2}\bigr),Δφ(τ)=4βτ2(p−p2−4a2), which is invariant under fibre exchange but irreducible to independent single-fibre contributions. We identify this structure as nonfactorizable complementary holonomy: a shared phase constraint that arises only at the paired level. The bulk mediator does not act as a transport channel, but as a constraint-enforcing mechanism. All results are established within a minimal complement-paired bulk-mediated model and are explicitly classified by epistemic status and are structural and algebraic within a minimal complement-paired bulk-mediated model. This work develops Theorem 15 in the Q5 framework. See associated Zenodo records for Theorems 7, 8, 12, and 14.

Void-Pair Conservation as the Physical Mechanism of Quantum Entanglement and Bell Correlations

Luke Martin

We propose that quantum entanglement is the physical manifestation of void-pair conservation in a quantized vacuum foam. The conservation law B(x) + V(x') = D requires that every vacuum displacement event D creates exactly one bubble B at position x and one complementary void V at position x'. Entangled particles are two addresses of one displacement event — not two correlated objects but two endpoints of one physical thing. This escapes Bell's theorem without local hidden variables: Bell's factorization assumption requires the correlation function to be writable as a product of local functions, but D is inherently non-local and cannot be so factored. The antipodal symmetry of the void-pair uniquely selects the quantum singlet state, producing the experimentally confirmed correlation E(a,b) = -cos(theta_ab). We verify numerically that the model reproduces the full quantum mechanical CHSH violation S = 2*sqrt(2). We propose a testable prediction for three-particle connected foam topologies that differs from the standard GHZ prediction.UFFT Paper #2. Part of the Unified Foam Field Theory (B + V = D). Zero free parameters. v2.0 (July 2026): Section 4.1 corrected per Paper #75 (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21323993). The pair state is the unique basis-independent state of the antiunitary twin map, one local unitary from the singlet stated here; the twin state anti-correlates the chirality and positively correlates the quadratures, so perfect anti-correlation in every direction holds in the singlet convention reached by that rotation. Eight Easy Pieces: The Information Lattice

David Elliman

WITHDRAWAL NOTICE (18 October 2026). This paper is withdrawn and should no longer be cited as a result. It is built on a lattice geometry — the 4.8.8 tiling ("circlette") and the truncated cubic honeycomb, with octagonal faces and regular-octahedron cells — that the framework retired between June and September 2026. The theorems and mechanisms tied to that geometry were withdrawn [G81, G84]. Its headline results — among them the fine-structure constant and the Planck mass — have since been withdrawn [K13, G99]; later accounts are 10.5281/zenodo.20962395 and 10.5281/zenodo.22650175. The research programme was concluded in October 2026; its review found the framework's Standard-Model content assigned rather than derived. The original description is kept below for the record. Original description (kept for the record): What if empty space is not empty — and not continuous? What if the vacuum is a crystal, built from quantum error-correcting codes, whose geometry produces the particles and forces of nature as naturally as ice produces snowflakes? This nine-part series traces a path from the measured reality of the quantum vacuum — the Casimir effect, the Lamb shift, the 10¹²¹ catastrophe — through the Standard Model's extraordinary successes and stubborn failures, to a specific, concrete proposal: an 8-qubit code on the faces of octahedral voids, self-organised into a three-dimensional honeycomb lattice, reproducing the 45 known fermions of the Standard Model from three Boolean rules and a single quantum logic gate. The series derives fundamental constants (including the fine-structure constant to 3 parts per billion) from counting faces and bridges, demonstrates spontaneous crystallisation of the lattice from unstructured qubit soups via simulated annealing, and dissolves the famous paradoxes of quantum mechanics — entanglement, wave function collapse, the double slit, Bell's theorem — into mechanical consequences of qubits propagating through a discrete geometry. Each article is self-contained and accessible to any numerate reader. Full mathematical derivations are linked as companion documents. Fourteen falsifiable predictions are stated explicitly, and every open problem is honestly catalogued. The framework may be wrong — but it is precise enough to be shown wrong, and that is what separates physics from philosophy. The title nods to Richard Feynman's "Six Easy Pieces." Feynman needed six. The octahedron needed eight. The paradoxes needed one more.
Unified Foam Field Theory, Part XXXIII. Framework v9. Verification script in the UFFT GitHub repository.
Two claims present in versions 1 to 3 are withdrawn and recorded in the kill list: that the incommensurate offset has no value, and that the offset is one quantum. Both were double-precision truncation of a finite sum. The u^6 coefficient of the shape function reported in the companion results ledger is likewise superseded by the derived value. Computational verification, gating and drafting assistance by an AI collaborator (Claude, Anthropic). Every gate is independently re-runnable from the ancillary scripts.
No Bell statistics change; references added.
