Abstract

Abstract We study the dynamics of skew information (SI)-based nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) in amplitude damping channels. For Bell states used as initial states, it is shown that the dynamics of SI-based NAQC is very similar, namely, it decreases monotonically and exists in finite time. To enhance SI-based NAQC for further applications, weak measurements and quantum measurement reversals (QMRs) are jointly performed for the initial Bell states | ϕ ± ⟩ = ( | 00 ⟩ ± | 11 ⟩ ) / 2 . While for the initial Bell states | φ ± ⟩ = ( | 01 ⟩ ± | 10 ⟩ ) / 2 , SI-based NAQC can be remarkably enhanced only by QMRs. Finally, an all-optical experimental proposal is presented, and the experimental feasibility is also analyzed.

Recovering nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence by weak measurement reversal

Guanghao Xue, Liang Qiu

Abstract We consider the scheme to recover nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) for two-qutrit system which suffer from the amplitude damping noises by using weak measurement reversal. The scope of the decay rate of the noise to achieve NAQC can be obviously extended after the application of weak measurement reversal, i.e. NAQC can be recovered in the region that there is no NAQC. The physical reason for the recovery may be attributed to the probabilistic nature of the scheme as well as the shrinking of the range for the state parameter to achieve NAQC.

Experimental investigation of the nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence

Zhiyong Ding, Huan Yang, Hao Yuan +3 more

Nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) based on coherence complementarity relations is generally viewed as a stronger nonclassical correlation than Bell nonlocality. An arbitrary two-qubit state with NAQC must be an entangled state, which demonstrates that the criterion of NAQC can also be regarded as an entanglement witness. In this paper, we experimentally investigate the NAQC for Bell-diagonal states with high fidelity in an optics-based platform. We perform local measurements on a subsystem in three mutually unbiased bases and reconstruct the density matrices of the measured states by a quantum state tomography process. By analyzing characteristics of the ${l}_{1}$ norm, relative entropy, and skew information of coherence with parameters of quantum states, NAQC for the quantum states is accurately captured, and it shows that our experimental results are well compatible with the theoretical predictions. Our results have shown that NAQC could be a new kind of entanglement witness and a useful physical resource for quantum information processing.

Steering quantum nonlocalities of quantum dot system suffering from decoherence

Huan Yang, Ling-Ling Xing, Zhiyong Ding +2 more

The important applications of quantum dot system are to implement logic operations and achieve universal quantum computing based on different quantum nonlocalities. Here, we characterize the quantum steering, Bell nonlocality, and nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) of quantum dot system suffering nonunital and unital channels. The results reveal that quantum steering, Bell nonlocality, and NAQC can display the traits of dissipation, enhancement, and freezing. One can achieve the detections of quantum steering, Bell nonlocality, and NAQC of quantum dot system in different situations. Among these quantum nonlocalities, NAQC is the most fragile, and it is most easily influenced by different system parameters. Furthermore, considering quantum dot system coupling with amplitude damping channel and phase damping channel, these quantum nonlocalities degenerate with the enlargement of the channel parameters t and Γ. Remarkably, measurement reversal can effectively control and enhance quantum steering, Bell nonlocality, and NAQC of quantum dot system suffering from decoherence, especially in the scenarios of the amplitude damping channel and strong operation strength.

Protecting nonlocal quantum correlations in correlated squeezed generalized amplitude damping channel

Shuo Wang, Zhao-Qi-Zhi Han, Weichen Li +4 more

Nonlocal quantum correlations, such as quantum entanglement, quantum steering, and Bell nonlocality, are crucial resources for quantum information tasks. How to protect these quantum resources from decoherence is one of the most urgent problems to be solved. Here, we investigate the evolution of these correlations in the correlated squeezed generalized amplitude damping (SGAD) channel and propose a scheme to protect them with weak measurement (WM) and quantum measurement reversal (QMR). Compared with the results of the uncorrelated SGAD channel, we find that when [Formula: see text], correlation and squeezing effects can prolong the survival time of quantum entanglement, Bell nonlocality, and quantum steering by about 152 times, 207 times, and 10 times, respectively. In addition, local WM and QMR can effectively recover the disappeared nonlocal quantum correlations either in uncorrelated or completely correlated SGAD channels. Moreover, we find that these initial nonlocal quantum correlations could be drastically amplified under the correlated channel. And the steering direction can be flexibly manipulated either by changing the channel parameters or the strength of WM and QMR. These results not only make a step forward in suppressing decoherence and enhancing quantum correlation in noise channels, but also help to develop relevant practical applications.

Quantum steering and nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence in non-Markovian environment

Su-Wan Tu, De-Feng Liu, Cheng‐Cheng Liu +3 more

In the field of quantum information science, quantum steering (QS) and nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) are the core quantum resources, while their practical applications are often limited by the decoherence effect caused by environmental noise in open quantum systems. In this study, we explore the dynamic characteristics of QS and NAQC in non-Markovian environment. It is shown that both QS and NAQC exhibit oscillatory revival, and the amplitude is positively correlated with the purity of the initial state. It is worth mentioning that QS shows greater robustness during recovery, while NAQC decays more significantly under the same conditions. Furthermore, we propose a quantum control strategy based on weak measurement operation and demonstrate that this operation effectively suppresses the decoherence of QS and NAQC in non-Markovian environment.

Steered quantum coherence in finite-temperature environment and its protection with weak measurements

Hao Yuan, Lin-Yao Zhao, Lian-Fang Han

Abstract We investigate the dynamics of steered quantum coherence (SQC) measured by the l 1-norm and relative entropy in a finite-temperature environment, which is modeled as a generalized amplitude damping channel. It is shown that the SQC decreases monotonically as the parameter r increases, and the sudden death of SQC occurs no matter what the temperature is. The effect of the temperature of the thermal bath on the dynamics of SQC is unremarkable. To a certain extent, SQC is robust to the temperature in such thermal noise. Further, we use weak measurement (WM) and quantum measurement reversal (QMR) to protect the SQC from the finite-temperature environment. It is shown that the SQC can be enhanced, or even birthed, when the measurement strengths of WM and QMR are properly chosen. We also show that SQC can achieve the maximal value for the optimal measurement strengths. Our results could be verified experimentally in an all-optical system, and pave the way to further applications of SQC in quantum information processing.
